I created a simple test with SendKeys, and tried both SendWait and Send.[code]I tested in skype, and a few of the letters doubled. I tested in Flash, I got "Iffff yyouu cccaaaannn rrreaaaddd thhhiiisss,,, iiittt wwwooorrrrkkks."Clearly the issue is caused by lag. What can I do to prevent doubling (or tripling) of letters?

For example, I could select my postcode from the listbox and have it sent to the currently selected field in my internet browser. Or the current date to my text editor.[code]...

What is the difference between SendKeys.SendWait and SendKeys.Send?Send obviously will just send they key immediately, but does SendWait actually wait for the message to be processed or does it also send it immediately?The function's name itself is just confusing. Which one should I use if I want to send keystrokes to a 3rd party app immediately, or is there no difference? To me, a few milliseconds is a big difference.

I've already experimented with SetKeyboardState which seems like the way to go, except that it does not raise any kind of keyboard event that causes the set keystates to register with an active application or the OS (at least not until another key is pressed; for example I can meddle with the keyboardstate before events process on a natural keystroke, but I can't invoke a keystroke programmatically).

I have a VB.Net 2.0 application, on my form I am using a Component ONE PDF reader control.I am trying to send to this control a F4 keystoke to close the navigation panel when it opens the PDF file. It is not working or not accepting the sendkey.I put focus on the control first. Code below:

Trying to make a simple browser with some simple addon's. What Ive done is setup a menu(forum) for the user to enter their email providers web address and it will save it in a xml file. When they click on the email link, it should load the email xml iformation and place that info in the tb_html.text and navigate. I keep getting a null exception and im not sure what going on here. Probably a dumb question, but can you write a unit test project in one language to test against another project in a different language?I'd like to translate one of our VB assemblies into C#, but want to build unit tests to verify the results. I've tried to set a unit test project up to do this, but I can't seem to access the VB code within a unit test... I can't figure out if I'm just missing/doing something stupid, or it really isn't allowed.

If you want a instance of an object to be created when a form loads or another class is created, you have two options:

I always use the first one. It's more type work but I think it's neater. How about you people and is there any real difference between the two?
I can usually find the answers to most of my questions via the Google Gods, but not this time.I have a form that has a TabPageControl and on that page a collection of labels and text boxes via a usercontrol.
On the form I have a button that allows the user to create a new tabpage, when the code adds a new page, it automatically adds the UserControl collection. I can't get my head around how to access the objects on the newly created tabpage.
What I need to be able todo is take the index of the tabpage that has focus and translate that against the UerContol name, but I havn't a clue how to do it!

How can I send this message to windows (Ctrl+F6)? I tried by sendkeys but is not working, it says that: SendKeys cannot run inside this application because the application is not handling Windows messages. Either change the application to handle messages, or use the SendKeys.SendWait method."
I tried Sendkeys.sendwait method but it minimized my full screen application and I need it remains full screen.

The application works by the form being positioned over a open window, notepad, word, excel etc and it then determines what it is over, notepad, word, excel etc and then reads the file, and does some processing using SendKeys at the moment.Though I do believe I could probably change the later at some point. The problem I'm having right now is when I try to send the Alt + Tab to change focus it's working roughly 12% of the time.If you are wondering I ran it 50 times and it worked 6 of those,thus the 12%.I'm thinking that is rather unacceptable.This is what I'm using which should work: SendKeys.SendWait("%{TAB}")
