I am creating an excel file and have to add a dropdown list to a cell. It looks like I need data validation, but my attempt errored on the .Add line.

Using VB.NET I created an excel sheet with list of items in dropdownlist.[code]But i can able to view the listbox upto "testing", rest of the items are not diplayed in the listbox why?Is there any limit for dropdown list items, If so how to increase the limit?
View 1 RepliesI have been to internet hail and back trying to figure out what Im doing wrong with my combobox cells and columns.When I add items to the cell using .item.add("something"), othing shows in the cell. I can add 5 items and nothing shows up. No dropdown and nothing in the cell. In debug, I can stop and look at the cells value and see that n-items where indeed added but yet, they dont show up on the screen in the DGV.I have a DGV and I have tried this 2 ways.. creating the columns in the form designer and by adding the columns in code.Heres a snippit of the datagridviewcomboboxcolumn (thats a lot of typing) anyway.. this is the def for it and the surrounding columns:

I'm attempting to copy cells, one at a time, from an Excel 2003 (or 2007) spreadsheet to a Word 2003 (or 2007) table. I'd like the code to be version-agnostic, and so am using late binding. The formatting of the contents of the Excel cell, such as color, underline, strike-through, needs to be preserved. My approach is to use a Word doc as a template. It has a table at the top which I can copy to the end of the doc, add rows as needed, and fill in the word table cells with the data from the excel spreadsheet. Unfortunately, all the formatting disappears. All I get is the text itself.

For example: I have a dropdown question that asks: What brand of car do you drive (Toyota, Ford, Honda, Nissan, Chevrolet)
When the brand is selected I want another dropdown to appear under it with new chocies
For example: If Nissan is chosen, the second dropdown will be populated (from the database) with (Altima, Maxima, etc...)
And in some cases I would like a text box to appear, but If I can figure out the dropdown portion, I am sure I can figure out the textbox.
I am dynamically creating and adding dropdown controls to DevExpress XtraGrid.That works fine and I can add a dropdown control to any column I wish.My main problem is that I need to have the first element in the dropdown control displayed. The code will go tru and add lets say 3 dropdown controls, set their .DataSource to datasets I need, but it will only show .NullText of the last added control.

So far I have been able to create a number of items manually and then afterwards change the label of these items using
Globals.Ribbons.Ribbon1.DropDown1.Items(i).Label
Furthermore I found that some recommend using this to add further items to the dropdown control. But I am having a hard time trying to understand how to use it.

View 3 RepliesI would like my gridview to be filtered by the dropdown list I have. It is pulling specific information from the database, so when you choose a value from the dropdown list, it should search through all the records and find only records with the ddl value in them.
The code that I am using in the codebehind for the SelectedIndexChanged is not right though. I get an error message saying 'Value' is not a member of 'Integer'. This is on the line dsCompanyFilter.SelectParameters.Add
It probably has something to do with the gridview not tying to the dropdown list properly, but I am not sure how to fix that code.

I have a dropdownlist that I want to populate with a specific value and specific text. I'm not using a datasource but I am manually making a connection and retrieving data in code. How can I populate this dropdownlist? If I read the data with a datareader and increment an array I only get either the value or the text. This is what I have so far, but it is completely wrong:
