Data Stored In The Database For A Login?

ive made changes to my data stored in the database for a login i.e. ive changed the password that is stored in the database however for my application to continue the previous password still has to be used does anybody know why and how to change this, this also is the case for new entry's in the database i.e. new users. I also had an update button that also no longer works i think this is because of the same problem. I think the problem is that its saving the data changes from the update to the data set and not the database its self can this be changed?

I sware I am loosing the will to live, I have tried to accomplish this by my-self for about 2 weeks now and I am still at square one.
I am writing an application for booking conference rooms and I need a login form.
I have created my database called Users in sql and inserted 2 default login accounts, admin and default.
I dont know how to compare the data in my database to the data typed into the username and password text boxes on the login form.

i'm trying to make a login form connected to an sql server database. my data base has records like this:
fname - lname - minit
each name in a separate column, and i wanted to use the name as the login username, so in the dataset designer i made a new column and concatenated the names together like this: lname+fname+minit but at Dim dr As SqlDataReader = cmd.ExecuteReader i get this error:
"Invalid column name 'username'. Invalid column name 'username'."
i'm asuming that's because username doesn't actually exists in the database, only in the dataset.is there a way to get that to work with out the username column actually existing in the database?

I have multiple chat programs (e.g. MSN, Yahoo *Messenger*, ICQ etc.) where the login name is stored, and I only need to type in the password to log on to in. But it's a hassle to open each and every chat program then login.So, I attempt to write an application where it fetches all these stored chat program's user name into one application under a single window/form (similar to [url]..., but I'm doing a desktop app version). User can then login in to any chat program in one application.The first step is: how can I get or where do I look for the stored user name of a chat program? I looked into Credential Manager, but it isn't helpful.

I created a SQL DB named MainDB.mdf and a small VB 2010 application with some forms and datasets.Everything was working OK until i got a new computer and re-installed Visual Studio 2010 and SQL server 2010 on it. I copied my DB from the old to the new computer and also copied by VB 2010 project to it. I used Windows Authentication to connect to the DB in the old computer and also in the new one, i am using different Windows user account names though.
I was able to connect to the DB in the new computer in the Server Explorer section, i created a new connection string to the DB and i can seed there is data in the tables. When i run my VB 2010 application created in the old computer get error:
"Cannot open database "MainDB" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'D630Admin'."
I need to get rid of that error and be able to add/mod/del data from my DB using my VB application as i used to.

I have the lines above to login by database. However, I really don't know why always give me the error: "Incorrect fields". I am 120% sure that all the fields of the table are right, including the text that I put into my textboxs. I have already add a user into the database. I can make login in PHP but in VB.NET I just can't.

I followed below attached tutorial but I got this error: Cannot open database "mydb" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'NAME OF COMPUTER FOR THE NETWORKUsername'. Second question: When I deploy my application which communicates with SQL server, should I put in the installation file SQL server? If I need to deploy and SQL server, I have to configure server, right? P.S.I use SQL 2005. I changed Authentication Mode of the SQL server to: SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode.

I had a problem with WebBrowser component. Basically, it works improperly when try to log in on one web-site (Forex Trading Social Network | Online Forex Trading Forum and Social Networking Site). I am working with Visual Studio 2010 Professional. I created a simple WebBrowser trying to access the indicated web-site. The problem begins. I mean, when I enter the login details the login page just refreshes itself and the login wasn't proceed. The same login page appear with every login attempt. I am working with Vb.net and have a form with a combo Box. On load the form is loaded with one of the following details depending on what is stored in the database; Cancelled, Processed and Failed. [code] Then I have an update button and when the user drops down the list he/she can select between Cancelled/Processed/Failed. I want to be able to grey out or disable Processed and Failed, so that when the user updates the field he/she can ONLY update with the Cancelled option ONLY.

I am working on login and registration page in vb express 2010. I have connected access 2007 database with my project and when I register as a user, it stores information to the database successfully and I can log in with that id as well. But when I close that project and reopen it, the same exact id won't work and the information in the database disappears.

I am attempting to create a tier application. Im wondering which approach would be better to take on. Should i have stored procedures on the database and then call these from my Data Access Layer (this is when you right click your dataset and add a table adapter, select existing stored procedures or create the entire query in my Dataset under TableAdapter?
My reason for asking is because my Stored procedures are created to insert and update in one command (by using an If statement), but saw the other approach recently. Any reason for one over the other?

I have a requirement for a form where user can add a list of 'documents'. These could be word, excel, images etc... pretty much anything. They want a form where they use the openfiledialog to locate the document and then want the list of documents stored on a database.
However, when they view this form they want a preview of all of the listed documents and the ability to print them all. I was considering a datagrid view with image cells but how would I show a word document in there? Or, should I insist that they convert all documents to PDF's?

Around 30 Client computers contact the database almost every 2-3 seconds. I need to know could there be potential manifest problem in with the application? We are trying to retrieve PDF files stored in a SQL Database. We want to display them on a web page. We are using VB and ASP Code within Visual Studio 2008. We have found snippets of code, but because we are new it does not make sense to us. We are looking for infomation on how to retrieve the PDF from the database and either display directly to a web page, or write the information to a Temporary PDF file we can delete later.

I have got a MySQL database stored on a remote server. I can user PHPMyAdmin to access the database and make changes to the table, i can also use a third party piece of software to do the same however when i try and access the database through my program it says that "Access denied for user 'lukefrost'@'%' to database 'PHCAdminSystem'". However it will allow me with the same logon credentials the other ways explained above. Can anyone help me with what the problem might be?
