Datagrid With One Column And Dynamic Number Of Rows?
Feb 2, 2009
I am trying a small application here. It is a windows mobile application. I have to create a form with one drop down and a datagrid.Once a value is selected in the dropdown. The focus goes to the data grid.I know before hand that there is only one column. But I dont know how many rows the user will enter. When the foucs comes to datagrid then one row is created where the use will enter a number. When he hits tab or enter a new row is created and the cursor goes there and the user can enter second number. When he tabs or etnerts a new row is created. This should go on until he presses Save button when all these values will go in the database table.
how to do cursor moving from one grid it effect to another grid.example Grid A and Grid B have the same number of rows. when I click current row on data grid A, the selected row on data Grid B also follow data grid A..
I have three sub tables that I want to process. For each I want to combine the rows, as they are only different by contents in the second column(I want to do the same to the fourth column, later):
I am currently using DevExpress 10.2 within Visual Studio 2010. In a previous question I was trying to print the current user view of a DevExpress GridControl with the user's choice of expanded or collapsed master rows and/or group sections. I was told this was not possible at this time. I have now decided to use the following code:
I have a search form on that will be pulling search template queries from a table in the underlying (an Access db on a share). The search form has a calendar control for filtering by date range, a listbox containing the names of the search templates, a second listbox which lists the fields in the selected template, and then some controls which show/hide themselves depending on which field is selected so that the user can pick a field and enter it's unique criteria in the appropriate control for filtering. Below these controls is a DataGrid, which will obviously display the results.
The problem is how to dynamically "transform" this DataGrid to display the selected search template. These templates do not represent tables in the underlying; rather they represent preconstructed SQL queries (stored in a table) which are essentially SELECT queries with joins and no WHERE clause (so they are the results of multiple tables joined together by their keys).
To be honest, I'm having trouble even generating the LINQ queries to represent these template dynamically, but that's not as important, since I can manually translate the SQL queries into LINQ. This is definitely not the preferred method, as the whole point of putting these templates in a table, rather than code, was to allow for future additions without rebuilding/redistributing the application interface.
i have a datagridview with three columns. i set the first column to visible=false, so the user can only see two columns.when the user presses the tab key in the first visible column -- column(1), i want to ignore column(2) so that the user only tabs through the rows in column(1)i can't get it to work. it will always tabs through the rows in column(2) even if i use the column name.
It seems that on clicking datagridview column header, the column will be automatically sorted based on the column type. I have a column showing some numbers. If column type is string, it sorts "1","20","3" into "1","20","3". If column type is double, it sorts into "1","3","20" which is the result that I want. However, there might be some erros in the numbers and error messages(text) will show in the cell instead of numbers. So I cannot set the column type as double. I want to ignore these error messages and sort all the numbers. How can I do this?
Also, I need to add some background colors to different rows in datagridview. So in the column header click event, I call the bkgColor Sub to achieve this. My question is that how can I override the sorting method in this event?
Private Sub DataGridView1_ColumnHeaderMouseClick(sender As Object, e As System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellMouseEventArgs) Handles DataGridView1.ColumnHeaderMouseClick Try
I have a datagridview, and I want to get an array of rows, or rows indexes in which boolean column "Aktywny" is set to True.Obviously I can Do it using loop, but LINQ will be much faster for sure...
I have a DataSet that contains 1 DataTable, and the DataTable contains only 1 row of data. I want to loop through all columns in that row and say:
Column name = column value
so for example if the column name is FAVORITE_FOOD and the value is pizza, I should display FAVORITE_FOOD = pizza I can get the column name from column.ColumnName and the value from Rows(0).Item(0), but for the life of me I can't put it all together in a simple loop.
I have a dynamically-created GridView which to which I'm attaching a handler using the AddHandler command. The problem is that when I try to refer to sender.rows within that function, it won't do anything because it says that sender.rows.count = 0. I've done enough dynamic form creation that I'm pretty sure that I'm creating the controls, binding them, and adding the handler at the proper points during the page init/load load_complete. Also, I have nearly the exact same code-behind on another form that is not dynamic, and it is able to access the values in the rows.
Considering that the RowCommand event is firing, it's clear that I'm clicking on a row. For some reason it's just not in scope for the handler event. Background: What I really want to do is access the values that are databound to the row. I'm creating a SQLCommand and binding that to the dynamic grid, and I would prefer to talk to the grid's datasource, but that doesn't seem to be possible. Perhaps I'm missing something, but for now it seems that reading the values from the GridView (which I hate doing) is the only thing that works.
I'm am creating a "pop-up" CheckedListBox over a button on my DataGridView. The values in the list are going to be filtered based on the value in column 0 of the DataGridView.I have already pulled in a "master" DataTable with two columns: ACODE and MATRIX.I want to call the following function and return an array of strings that I can use to build this CheckedListBox with. The line between "For Each r" and "Next" generates a "Number of indices is less than the number of dimensions of the indexed array". The number of items is variable in the array so I can't predefined it. I know I'm going down the wrong path.
Function StudyGroupSamples(ByVal sampleType As String) As String() Dim thisArray() As String Dim theseRows() As DataRow
I wrote a function to format numbers like this: 123456100,12 -> 123.456.100,12 (I have a function too, which converts numbers from this strings). Now, I have a dgv and a column with these numbers (or rather strings). The sort mode is set to automatic. If I sort the column, it doesn't work, because the values are not really numbers, but strings. But I get the same result (the sorting doesn't work), if I use the formatnumber function (this returns strings too).
I could use the programmatic sort mode and before sorting I format the strings to numbers, then sort the column, and then format the numbers like above. But this is a bit slow (the dgv has appr. 800 rows), and in this case, I haven't an arrow next to the column header text.is it possible to sort the column like a normal number-column with automatic sortmode?
I have a DataGridview1 box and a listbox called rebuilt which contains the raw data I need put into an array and then dumped into the DataGrid.[code]....
Our site is developing against a 3rd party API (Wonderware) that returns datasets and datatables from certain calls. The issue we are having with some of the calls is the data returned is more than we want to show to the end users. We are binding the data to a datagrid, and will sometimes get back 20+ columns of data we don't need to show. Is there a way to filter the datatable of columns before binding it to the datagrid? Right now we are using the datagrid to hide the columns, but I think it would be better to strip out the columns of data we don't need before binding to the grid.
For Each row As DataRow In dgrFarms.Rows Dim sendtroopid As Integer sendtroopid = row("idColumn") 'Do Something Next
I've been trying to get a loop through a row in just one column in VB.NET for a while now, and i've done my homework on it too. When i use that code above I get:
Unable to cast object of type 'System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewRow' to type 'System.Data.DataRow'.
I saw another guide which told me to do:
For Each row As DataGridView In dgrFarms.Rows sendtroopid = row("idColumn") 'Do Something Next
But that gives me the error:
Overload resolution failed because no accessible 'Item' accepts this number of arguments.
numbering rows in datagrid. I have a column that should number 1,2,3 so on when adding a new row. When I delete a row, those numbers should re-number still to 1,2,3. So when I delete row 2, the row that's been added as 3 should now number to 2. Then when I add new rows, these should re-number again, and so on..
My code: 'when adding a new row Private Sub btnadd_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnadd.Click
[Code].....
My problem is with the for loop when deleting a row.
I am using VB.NET 2003 I read this thread :There it explains how to copy one DataGrid row.I'd like to be able to copy all the rows in the DataGrid from a Button_Click.
