How would you convert this to VB (using .NET 4.0 / VS2010) ?
bw.DoWork += (o, args) =>
{
Code Here
};
I thought maybe like this:
AddHandler bw.DoWork,
Function(o, args)[code]....
But it says Function does not return a value on all code paths.

There are two ways to create methods on the fly. Through Anonymous method and through Lambda expression (relevant for C# language as far as i know). Though there is not much difference between them. How to create Anonymous methods in VB.NET ?

I'm trying to create an extension method that returns an IEqualityComparer based on a lambda function. Heres the extension method:
<Extension()>
Public Function Comparer(Of T)(Func As Func(Of T, T, Boolean)) As IEqualityComparer(Of T)
Return New GenericComparer(Of T)(Func)
End Function

With C# anonymous delegates, we can avoid declaration of extra method, I know in VB.NET they're not available, but is there a design pattern that I can use so that I can avoid writing an extra method each time? I need it for SPSecurity.RunWithElevatedPrivileges which will be used a lot of times in our code.

(using VB 08!) In order to avoid "magic strings", I have used this handy method (not my own!) many times to get a property's name as a string:
Function GetPropertyName(Of T, R)(ByVal expression As
Linq.Expressions.Expression(Of Func(Of T, R))) As
String

When I put a breakpoint in a method I'm calling from a lambda expression, the breakpoint is never hit. When I move the method call outside the lambda, the breakpoint hits.
For example:
Function IncrementAll(ByVal items As IEnumerable(Of Integer)) As IEnumerable(Of Integer)
Return items.Select(Function(i) Increment(i))
End Function
[Code]....
If I call IncrementAll, the breakpoint in Increment does not get hit. Is there a way to make VS 2008 stop on these breakpoints? I hate the thought of rewriting all my LINQ into loops just for debugging.

I have an inline lambda expression that I would like to use throughout my application. I just can't seem to find a reference on how to do this with more parameters than the element being tested. Here is a quick example of what I currently have.
Private Sub Test()
Dim List As New List(Of String) From {"Joe", "Ken", "Bob", "John"}
Dim Search As String = "*Jo*"

For I've tried this:Dim exampleItems As Dictionary(Of String, String) = New Dictionary(Of String, String)
Dim blah = exampleItems.Select (Function(x) New (x.Key, x.Value)).ToList 'error here
But I'm getting a syntax error and all the examples that I've seen are in C#.

I can't figure this out. I have a bitmap that will be used throughout an application, so I can't declare it with a Dim statement in a procedure, or it isn't recognized as having been declared in other procedures. So I declared it at the top of the form class, two ways. This one works: Private MyBitmap As New Bitmap(622, 461) It makes a bitmap to the exact size of a picturebox I have. But I want to be able to change the size of the picturebox and not have to worry about going back into this declaration to set things up, every time I decide to change the box's dimensions. So I tried this next version, but it doesn't work:

a datacontext defined in a module(domain services ado.net ria)a page having add/delete methods whenever any method is executed, it is found that all the previous actions (NEW RECORD ADDITION and DELETION OF RECORDS) are carried out before the new action is carried out normally
this behaviour is not prominent but "when using break points and inspecting the values of the variables and table object to be added to context, it is clear that all the previous actions take place again. even when the datacotext. savechanges is called, even after that still all actions carried out on the datacontext repeat themseleves, when any new action is to be carried out

The following syntax is valid VB.NET code
Dim myCollection As New List(Of Stock)
myCollection.Add(New Stock(Guid.NewGuid, "Item1"))
myCollection.Add(New Stock(Guid.NewGuid, "Item2"))
[code]....
How can I accomplish the same thing in C#? I have tried...
myCollection.FindAll(bool delegate(Stock stock) {
if (blah blah) {
}
});
But it appears I have somehow structured it incorrectly as I get the following error. "Error 1 Invalid expression term 'bool'"
