I have a small program that works just fine on my desktop (23 inch monitor). I programmed it on this computer as well. My laptop (17 inch monitor) works fine also, however, on a 15 inch monitor the picturebox's are off and not where they were when I programmed it. Also, some forms you can not see the entire form and the bottom is cut off.
When loading the form then my windows state is maximized (properties--windows state--maximized). After loading the form then if I press taskbar menu top(maximise button is disabled and minimize button is disabled on form) then size of form is changing. I have used screen.width, and height to restore when form resizes but still for the first time of form loading it moves and set to the boundaries. Atleast once also it should not move. How to stop changing the windows state from moving when we click task bar. Again in form properties -- application -- I have checked -- make single instance application. When if again any other path same form is opened. Then also it resizes to other state.
For some reason, a certain Form in my project will change it's size all on it's own right after I call it. It's usually with small forms in the one I'm having a problem with is 95x25 pixels. The only thing on it is a Label with some text in the middle and this code
Public Class MessageForm Private Time As Integer = 25 Private Sub fadeTimer_Tick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles fadeTimer.Tick Time -= 1 [Code] .....
As you can see the Form is meant to be a small pop-up that disappears on its own, like a balloon tip. Anyways I just added it to my project 5 minutes ago and as soon as I tested it out by displaying it with Form.Show(), it randomly changed to 123 by something else during runtime. I checked all the Form properties for any kind of resize properties and only found AutoScaleMode which was set on font, but set on None made no difference. Like I said I just added this form and have no code affecting it whatsoever in my entire project except for Form.Show and the code on that form. For the moment I'm just resizing the form on it's own Load event, and that seems to work, but I'd like to know what is causing this random form resize.
Here TD width is hardcoded to 10%. I would like to set the width from code behind.I am setting text for menu item from code behind as follow
Private Sub MenuList_ItemDataBound(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As DataListItemEventArgs) If e.Item.ItemType = ListItemType.Item OrElse e.Item.ItemType = ListItemType.AlternatingItem Then Dim drv As DataRowView = CType(e.Item.DataItem, DataRowView)
how to adjust the width of the listview and also the datagridview to the width of the form.Because I want it to be able to follow the form's width and when maximized the form, the listview or the datagridview will also be maximized to the form's width.
I want to be able to hide the left hand side of the screen and right hand side of the screen at the beginning of the program.
Then when the user presses create new button the left hand side of the screen becomes available so they can create the new item. Then when they press save it comes back to the middle datagrid only.
Then I want to add an event when the double click on the datagrid row (data is programmed in to the datagrid in the code) the right hand side of the screen becomes visible then when the button allocate is pressed the right hand side disappears again just leaving the datagrid.
I have a RadGrid with a filtercontrol on it. The grid fits the size of the window, but certain views have quite a few columns and when the columns get shrunk down, the filter controls don't resize to fit. Is there any way to set those filter controls to auto fix within the width of the column?
How set a width for an individual column in DataGridView? I make my datagridview fill. But the problem is The column index 1 is not fit on the datagridview. How can I set an assigned width so that I can managed the spaces.
I want to set header column width for grid view. I tried HeaderStyle-Width="30px". But it is depending on Item columns. The column width is setting based on item value. But I want fixed width even if it has value or empty.
I'm at the Studio 2008 stage in migrating from VB6 to Studio 2010. My application appears to run OK for the most part, but my MSFlexGrid display's single column is just 8 or 10 characters wide -- it should span the entire grid display (i.e., have the same width as the grid). The Studio 2008-Upgraded code sets several grid properties correctly, but the statement ".ColWidth(0) = .Width" (in the scope of a With block) causes an error. So does the statement ".TextMatrix(0, 0) = string".
Not only are these properties not included in the upgraded control (now identified as AxMSFlexGrid), but some column-related properties are greyed out in the properties list. My grid size was set originally by cursor drag, and the present .Size sub-properties of .Width and .Height are set to the numbers 593 and 329, respectively. (My form has a fixed size and is user-moveable but not user resizable.)
I have a datagrid on my form that has a dataset bound to it via the datagrid properties Tables collection. I have the PreferredColumnWidth property of the datagrid set to 75. How can I change the column width in code to match my column header text?
A ListView Column's with is set to -1 meaning its width is automatically set the width of the widest cell text in the column. I need the width automatcally set but I'd like to know the actual width of the column.
Just trying to get my head round WPF. I have a usercontrol which I'm using as the template for items in a listbox, however no matter what I try the usercontrol's width is always shrinking to the minimum size but I want it to fill the available width. I've found a similar query on here but it was relating just to a usercontrol not within a listbox and the solution proposed doesn't apply here.
I've a data grid whose source is a data table. The columns in the data table are Serial No.,Item,Description I want the width of each column to be different, like ,the width of serial no. should be very small and that of Description to be lengthier. But, everything is of the same default width. How to adjust the width of each column in a Data Grid so that appearance could be improved?
This problem has been perplexing me for some time now and I've tried various methods of implementing this but all have failed or have been very messy. There must be a recognised way of doing this On a form I have a treeview and listview control. The treeview allows a user to select a node and the listview shows the items within the node - pretty standard stuff. The possible columns (or subitems) list for each item in the listview is big (20 different columns in total). Some users will want to show certain information whilst others won't. Users will also want to customise column location and widths.
Implementing the customer location and widths is easy enough using standard My.Settings variables to store and retrieve the information. The problem is allowing the user to select which columns they want to be visible at any given time whilst still allowing for access to the relevant subitems.
The only method I know to achieve this currently is to set Column.Width = 0. This is not a good solution because the user simply extends the column out again from the user interface. I need to hide the column properly.I've been told that using a repository cache is the way to do this. Unfortunately the person didn't describe this properly and so I'm still stuck at sqaure one. My database access is achieved using Linq to Sql.
I have a databound DataGridView, and I'd like to keep one column in front, with a slightly smaller width than the default. The grid's AutoSizeColumnsMode property is set to Fill so that the columns fill out the entire grid. This makes the first column equally large as all others, which is why I need to set its width manually. The smaller column is the first one with the checkboxes. I have two grids that I need to do this with, and for some reason it works just fine with the first grid, but gives a null reference error on the second grid...
Here's the code for the first grid (working fine): vb.net Public Sub UpdateTodoGrid() ' Load todo items todoGrid.DataSource = _TodoManager.LoadAll() ' Set backcolor For Each row As DataGridViewRow In todoGrid.Rows [Code] .....
As you can see, the code is exactly the same (except for not setting the BackColor of each row and not using the ReadOnly property*). When I run this code, it gives me a null reference error ("Object reference not set to an instance of an object.") on the line where I set the column's Width. Obviously 'col' is not Nothing (otherwise it would have errored before that line), and there's nothing else there that could be Nothing... I assume that something happens internally in the grid when you set the width of a column, and that there is a null reference there, but obviously I have no control over that.
The grid's are absolutely the same, as the second grid is just a 'copy' (meaning I copy/pasted it in the designer) of the first. So all their properties are equal. I thought maybe the ReadOnly properties were the problem, but I tried putting them in in the same way and the issue did not go away... The first grid is not ReadOnly (because the checkboxes need to be editable), but all rows except the first are, while the second grid is completely ReadOnly.
setting the width of the gridview when i used the property AutoGenerateColumns to AutoGenerateColumns="true". And the gridview is databind in code behind. If i am using gridview1.columns(0).width it raise error.
And the GridView1.Columns.Count is always zero because the grid view is databind.
In .aspx: - <asp:GridView ID="GridView1" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="true"> </asp:GridView>
Im trying to resize a picturebox dynamically using .size.height and .size.width Its not working. This is the error message: "Expression is a value and therefore cannot be the target of an assignment." Never used height and width before. Been trying to find the answer, but it seems beyond me. Im sure its easy. Anyone know whats wrong with this?
I'm using VB.Net 2008 application program. I'm using DataGridView. I have a Print option where I need to print the DataGridView. I'm using this code for Printing and for Print Preview.
Dim MyDataGridViewPrinter As DataGridViewPrinter Private Function SetupThePrinting() As Boolean Dim MyPrintDialog As PrintDialog = New PrintDialog() MyPrintDialog.AllowCurrentPage = False MyPrintDialog.AllowPrintToFile = False [Code] ..... Attached the class I'm using for print.
I have 10 fields showing in datagridview. As the last 5 columns header is long, the datagridview is not fitting inside 1 page (not showing all 10 fields in one single page). But is there a way i can "Text Wrap" the top header column and lock in the width, then it should print across one page perfectly. How I can "Text Wrap" the top header column and lock in the width to print across one page.
