I cannot find how to display an error message when what I typed in the listbox field is not in the listbox collection.
For example the listbox contains the following items
1) Apple
2) Strawberry
3) Mango
If for example I type "Mongo" and then press tab to another field, a message will pop up saying I typed something not in the listbox. Anyone who knows how to code if text in textbox1 is not in listbox then blah blah blah.

I wanted to know how I can solve my error.I used the "Add New Datasources" wizard to create a conection to my acces database with visual basic.net 2010. I then added two more after I created the datasources and I dragged the table navigator from the dataset from the datasouces window and I ran the system and It was bringing the information and was working great. However I then decided to add a few more columns to my table, and that is where the problem began the next time I tried to run the system it gives the error "no value given for one or more parameters"If you think it you can achieve it

i've got a database with a table called Customers, and i've created a form so that i can edit the customer details and update the database. However when i click the update button, it doesn't work and keeps coming up with the error which i've put in the title.
Private Sub btnupdatecustomer_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnupdatecustomer.Click
If MessageBox.Show("Are you sure you want to update your details?", "Save", MessageBoxButtons.YesNo) = Windows.Forms.DialogResult.Yes Then
Dim intPosition As Integer
[code]....
The bold/underlined text is where the error is coming up.What am i doing wrong? I've got a feeling it is something really stupid as i modelled the code on an example project that a teacher gave me, so it's practically the same code except for the field names etc.

I am calling a Fortran DLL from Vb.Net. I am declaring this in the class and then I am calling the DLL. I made this Fortran DLL from a Fortran Exe code. If I just use the exe code of the Fortran program I get different values than if I use Fortran DLL. First I thought may be there is a delay, so I used Sleep() before the end of the loop. But this does not change the values I am getting. I don;t understand why the results are different in exe and DLL, since I made DLL using the same exe code. I am not sure if the DLL is completely exited before it called again. Below is the code (partial).
Declare Sub abbb Lib "C:Documents and Settingssanjida.tamannaMy DocumentsVisual Studio 2005ProjectsDll53Dll53DebugDll53.dll" Alias "aaa" (ByRef TOL1 As Single, ByRef tt1 As Single, ByRef TEND1 As Single, ByRef t_exposure2 As Single)

I have a bunch of old VB.NET code, written originally on VS2005, and now I no longer have the license. I downloaded VS2010 free edition, and I just want to apply a relatively minor patch to an assembly/DLL. This particular DLL is being used by an existing Windows service (also written in VB.NET), and it's the server side implementation of a TCP remoting implementation.
So I need my patched code to be compatible with it all of this. When I naively tried to just build under VS2010, drop the DLL in place, and restart the service, it bails with some error about bad magic number or something. (I'm assuming because it's .NET 3.0 and the .NET 2.0 runtime has no idea how to deal with that).
Sorry for the long lead up, but I'm hoping there's some way in VS to say, 'build this as a .NET 2.0 assembly'. If this isn't possible, what are my options?

I have found lots of posts on the web citing this problem but none of them have solutions, please could someone shed some light on this and help me find a solution otherwise my applicvation will lose a lot of the functionality I have planned?
I have produced a program in VB5 and I have designed a report in crystalreports (4.6). I want to click a button on a form in the program and viewthe report in a view window not in the CR4.6 editor.
I am using the following code to try to call the report however when ittries to start I get a 20536 - Incorrect log on procedures.Additional information:I'm running Win XPI have crystal report control 4.6 selected in the project components menuI have put a CR control on the formI have crystal report control 4.6 selected in the references menu If fixed will this open the report in the viewer window rather than the fullCR editor? (that's what I want)

I'm trying to update an Access database by using an OLE connection, retrieving the information from textboxes where the user enters the new information. All the fields in my Access table are required fields, so I have validated that some info is entered in each one of the textboxes and that is the correct data type. But when I run the update query I get an error message saying something like values haven't been entered for some required parameters (my Visual Studio is the Spanish version, so I can't give the exact error message in English). The bit of code where the error occurs is inside the procedure called by my "Ok" button:
Dim campo1, campo2, campo3, campo4, campo5 As String
Dim campo6, campo7, campo8 As Double
Dim campo9, campo10 As Integer
[code]....
(I didn't post the whole code inside the procedure, but of course I'm creating the connection and everything)
The table has 10 fields, and the data is read from the textboxes and stored in variables (campo1, campo2, campo3, etc.), which I'm then using in the "set" query command.
"id" is the first field from the selected row in the datagrid, which I'm sending as a parameter to the procedure called by the "OK" button. The error message shows at runtime, so I'm guessing it's something in the query. Am I writing it correctly?
