I am calling a Fortran DLL from Vb.Net. I am declaring this in the class and then I am calling the DLL. I made this Fortran DLL from a Fortran Exe code. If I just use the exe code of the Fortran program I get different values than if I use Fortran DLL. First I thought may be there is a delay, so I used Sleep() before the end of the loop. But this does not change the values I am getting. I don;t understand why the results are different in exe and DLL, since I made DLL using the same exe code. I am not sure if the DLL is completely exited before it called again. Below is the code (partial).
Declare Sub abbb Lib "C:Documents and Settingssanjida.tamannaMy DocumentsVisual Studio 2005ProjectsDll53Dll53DebugDll53.dll" Alias "aaa" (ByRef TOL1 As Single, ByRef tt1 As Single, ByRef TEND1 As Single, ByRef t_exposure2 As Single)
I have a bunch of old VB.NET code, written originally on VS2005, and now I no longer have the license. I downloaded VS2010 free edition, and I just want to apply a relatively minor patch to an assembly/DLL. This particular DLL is being used by an existing Windows service (also written in VB.NET), and it's the server side implementation of a TCP remoting implementation.
So I need my patched code to be compatible with it all of this. When I naively tried to just build under VS2010, drop the DLL in place, and restart the service, it bails with some error about bad magic number or something. (I'm assuming because it's .NET 3.0 and the .NET 2.0 runtime has no idea how to deal with that).
Sorry for the long lead up, but I'm hoping there's some way in VS to say, 'build this as a .NET 2.0 assembly'. If this isn't possible, what are my options?
I have a question specifically about getting the current cookies set to a particular visitor on an ASP.NET webpage. I understand you need to use Request.Cookies - and by default it returns a collection of all cookies set, as an HTTPCookieCollection. However, the MSDN documentation states that you do: Request.Cookies("Username") as an example, in order to fetch an individual cookie and then compare whether it is set, etc. All fine and dandy but why adding parentheses and a string does the type suddenly change to HTTPCookie.
I understand HTTPCookie is for dealing with individual cookies and HTTPCookieCollection is for dealing with multiple cookies at a time for like iteration purposes, etc., but I don't understand when on the MSDN documentation it explicitly states that the Request.Cookies property (the Cookies property) is of type HTTPCookieCollection, and if you do what I explained it changes the type (I can see this from IntelliSense) and it does not state this happens in the MSDN documentation. I'm not asking about the MSDN documentation lol, but why this happens when adding the parentheses and a string denoting the cookie name. I'm still pretty new to Visual Basic. By the way, I'm doing this all in Visual Web Developer although using VB as the language of choice.
I am using 3 unbound DataGridView controls to display certain information. To load the information into those DGVs, I am pulling the information from an encrypted file, decrypting it, parsing the information, then trying to fill the DGVs with that information. The loading from the file is called by the menu item click. Here is what I have so far:
Private Sub miCLoad_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles miCLoad.Click Dim FilePath As String = "C:FListCList.clt"
I am trying to retrieve the Attributes of a class's property specifically. So for example. Let's say I have a class called "Employee", and a custom attribute called CustomLabelAttribute with a string value. What would I need to do to retrieve the value of CustomLabelAttribute for Employee.FirstName specifically? I assume I will need to use reflection, but it's kind of new to me, and I've just recently started using it on any level.
I was able to create programs way back year 2006 specifically using VB6, however, the line of work that I've been to and currently in to is not related to programming at all. I was not able to constantly hone my programming skills and I wasn't able to adjust in today's latest updates. Now, step by step I am trying to rebuild myself. I would like to ask the guidance of all those experienced members here, if you may.
So basically, i have 2 int variables, x and y i am using to create a grid of pictureboxes. This is all fluid and built on runtime.I am trying to specifically change the picturebox on click if mine = 2.I cannot specifically change one, when i click any, it changes all of them.
Heres my code:
Public Class Form1 Inherits System.Windows.Forms.Form Dim images(8) As Image 'declares image array
Are there any tools available for automatically formatting vb.net code - specifically for adding line breaks at a predefined line length? I'm working with a lot of code with long lines (thousands of lines), and manually reformatting it is quite time consuming. I've seen a number of tools for rearranging code into regions etc., but haven't found any that reformat with line breaks.
I am new to regular expressions and I am trying to implement the metaphone algorithm in vb.net. [URL] The algorithm has lots of steps to replace characters depending on certain conditions. (ex. replace w unless followed by a vowel). Is there a way to handle branching logic using regular expressions?
I am trying to extract a url from a html page that is located specifically between the <h2 </h2> header. For example the following header is in the html page;
how to specifically identify all the specific table cells that are selected in a webbrowser control. To be specific once I load a page into the webbrowser control and it is displayed I simply want to be able to click and drag with the mouse over multiple cells. Once I have selected the multiple cells I want to be able to do something to them such as adding an attribute. I can do this with a single cell. With the follwoing code:
I am using a .Net JavaScript implementation called Jurassic to run user-controlled scripts within my .Net 4 WPF application coded in VB.Net - C# answers are fine. The script engine runs on its own thread and provides an API for the script to interact with my application. This all works really nicely until a user executes a script that causes an infinite loop and takes out a core of the processor.
[Code]...
The reason I care about keeping the thread alive is because the user who wrote the script and the user who is running it may not be the same, and I want to keep the experience as smooth as possible the the user running the thread. There also might be legitimate situations in which a single JavaScript function would run for a long time and I do not want to kill that, I just want to stop being allowed to hog the resources.
Solutions that involve stopping the thread from slowing down the system but that still show high CPU usage are not preferable because I do not want the user to wrongly feel that the application is resource intensive.
I recently found this code (provided for third party use on another VB site), however,ll of my attempts to insert it into a class library have failed.I open a new class library and past the code in, and immediately get several errors pertaining to how certain objects can't be found. I find it it is crucial to use this code, unless someone can suggest to me another example of existing code that will do the same thing: make a restricted textbox who imputs can be restricted, that can handle pasting, shortcuts, text property setting, and script-entered text.

Is there a control in vb.net that is specifically designed for displaying content larger than the control itself?I know it's possible to code your own using a panel and two scrollbars, but is there an already existing method for this?
I'm trying to delete the selected row in a gridview from the datatable but it seems like it's not deleting. in if statment Table.Rows.Count = 0 is not working and I'm trying this with one row in the grid view.
Protected Sub GridView1_RowCommand(sender As Object, e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewCommandEventArgs) Handles GridView1.RowCommand Dim index As Integer = Convert.ToInt32(e.CommandArgument)
I'm working with a disconnected dataset that is NOT using a database. I'm maintaining an external file in xml format using the ReadXML and WriteXML methods of the dataset. I have a Holiday table structure in the dataset with the following columns:
-HolidayDate
-HolidayName
When the app starts I read the Holidays into the dataset. I then check the Holiday table to see if any of the Holidays are in the past. If so, I want to delete the given Holiday row from the Holiday datatable. I'm running the following code: [code] If the HolidayDate is in the past it calls the Delete method ok but when it tries to execute the Next statement it raises an InvalidOperationException exception with the message "Collection was modified; enumeration operation might not execute".
I'm going through a book which is teaching me some basic coding principles of the language. The current section is detailing how to set up a master child form using two tables linked with a foreign key. The master table is displayed as a number of text boxes, and below is a grid with the child table which shows related records to whatever master record you happen to be checking out. At the top of the screen are the default navigation controls that are added with the grid. The master table is named Person and the child table Book. They are linked using a foreign key and have cascade set up on them.
The book informed me of the code required under the save icon on the navigation control so that when it is clicked both tables will be updated as required. It is as follows: If Validate() Then 'Make sure editing has completed on both master and child tables Me.BookBindingSource.EndEdit() Me.PersonBindingSource.EndEdit() [Code] .....
I have double checked that the code matches that shown, so this should in theory work fine. But if I manually delete a record from the Book (child table) grid and then click the Save icon on the navigation bar it comes up with the error "Update Requires A Valid DeleteCommand when passed DataRow collection with deleted rows".
Why changes made are not permanently saved to the database? I gather that it's using a "copy" of the data in the database but how do I get the code/form to make changes to the actual underlying database records as well as just the copy? I find this system very unusual, if someone deletes a record in the application why would anyone want this to be just done temporarily?
In my datagridview you have to double click it (putting it into editing mode) in order to delete the contents of the cell. Is there a way to program it so i can delete the contents by just pressing the delete button when it is highlighted?
I want to be able to delete records from my database and have this piece of code to do so: Dim myConnection As SqlConnection Dim myCommand As SqlCommand Dim ra As Integer myConnection = New SqlConnection("connectionstring'") myConnection.Open() myCommand = New SqlCommand("DELETE FROM player_table WHERE player_ID = 1", myConnection) ra = myCommand.ExecuteNonQuery() MessageBox.Show("Player Deleted") myConnection.Close() But I want let the user actually select one of the cells displayed and delete that.
am Working on VB.NET 08 Windows Appl. Present i am Working on the DataGridViewCombobox Column. When i click the Combobox ,Clear the Items Which are having the Combobox and add New Items Manually.
For Example: In the Load Event For each Combobox cells Having a,b,c Items. But When i Click the Combobox cell in the DataGridView the Items (a,b,c) delete and Add new Items X,Y,Z .
How can i delete and add new items when click on the Combobox cell in the DataGridView??
1st, i try to "add", "save", and "delete" DataRow in DataGridView using Button in the same Form. I try to search in the internet but i cant find it at all.
Public Class FrmReminder Private Sub BtnBack_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles BtnBack.Click
I have two datatables with similar structures that I want to make one existing row to be updated from another datatable.
For example, "tableA" has three columns: "one", "two", and "three"; with "one" being the primary key...
and "tableB" has three columns as well: "one", "two", and "three"; with "one" being the primary key.
Say there is a row on tableA that is different than a row on tableB (with a matching primary key). What I wanted to do, as efficiently as possible, is to take the that row from tableB and replace the one on tableA so it'll be modified.
I'm not sure if there's an easier way of doing that instead of using loops for setting the row's items.
I am attempting to copy the value of the TimeStamp in cell A6 which has the NOW() formula into cell A5 Based on a change in Cell A4. The catch is I don't want it to update every time the sheet is recalculated due to updating links in other cells on the sheet. ONLY when Cell A4 Changes. What do I do?
How can be find out which file is going to delete when, user provides command like DELETE or SHIFT + DELETE or by programmatically gives DELETE command. Well I know about FileSystemWatcher Class, but this class doesn't provide information before delete...
