I am looking for a free ribbon control with buttons and such.I really like devcomponents controls but they are too expensive for my little project. I dont mind the $200 but I would have to pay the $2000 for my project. I really just want a good looking ribboncontrol where I can do tabitems, groups and buttons with dropdowns.

What would be the best solution for finding/making one?Here is my google search I tried, I could only find one for c#. If possible, I would like one which is the closest to the one used in Office 2007.

View 2 RepliesI'm using VB 2008, and I have created a Ribbon (Visual Designer) Add-In for excel 2007.When the user clicks a "Save" button, that was created at design time, this buttons click event prompts the user for the new file name...then saves the workbook.then uses the new file name as the label for a dynamically created button that is placed in Menu1, on Ribbon1...all of this works just fine.The problem is, this dynamically created button in Menu1 disappears when excel is restarted. So, I setup user scope settings in an attempt to save these dynamically created buttons.The settings properties are as follows:
Name = RibbonSettings
Type = Microsoft.Office.Tools.Ribbon.RibbonMenu
Scope = User[code]....
The problem is, this seems to lock Menu1 and the dynamically created button never gets added to Menu1. Without this, the button is added to Menu1 just fine, but disappears upon restart.How can I save these dynamically created buttons in Menu1 on Ribbon1?
I'm a beginner on .NET I would like to use Ribbon control in my software and download a control (from ribbon.codeplex.com) I copy System.Windows.Forms.Ribbon.dll under my project folder and add that reference.Now, how will use that reference and how can i see that in my project.

View 4 RepliesI have an application that has multiple UI layouts, sometimes on tabs, sometimes the occasional separate form.I recently bought a pack of UI elements, and I'd like to use a ribbon control as the main navigation. For the most part I want the tabs on the ribbon to function like your everyday tabcontrol. The problem is that the ribbon tabs don't each have their own page for you to lay out your controls like the normal tabcontrol does.So right now I have the ribbon control at the top of an MDI form, and instead of using multiple tab pages I have many borderless forms, and when I click on a tab of the ribbon, I maximize the appropriate form and bring it to the front. This creates the illusion of tab pages by eliminating the control boxes of the child forms.

My problem is that I cannot get it to build in VB.Net 2010 Express Edition. I created a new project with the standard form1.vb. I then added the reference to ribbon dll. But I get errors when trying to build the app. I have attached a screenshot with the error.

View 5 RepliesI have a piece of software with two tabs, inside each tab there are buttons (the user can add the buttons when they want). when tab1 is full tab2 should start to fill. I currently know how many buttons fit on the screen so I just say something like if buttons > 150 then start to populate tab 2 The problem i have now though is if the resolution is changed then a different amount of buttons can be displayed. so if I put my screen to 1280x720 some buttons are left of. I was thinking of detecting the resolution and then using different cases for different resolutions but this seems very inefficient im wondering if there is a different way?

I have figured out quite a few tricks and stuff with the web browser control but I can't figure out how to automatically click a button. I know I can invoke the 1st instance of a "submit" type button but I want to click the 3rd instance (or chose which ever one I want). Unfortunately the button declarations in the HTML don't have ID or NAME tags to make it easy to pick them. How would I go about extracting all the buttons on a form in an array form, so I could invoke a certain member of that array and click a button of my choosing. Is this possible?
View 11 RepliesI have some experience with VB6 and it was easy to do a control array for radio buttons such that btnSMP(0) and btnSMP(1) and btnSMP(2) were together and if user clicked on btnSMP(1) it was shown with the blck dot on it as selected. If one then changed mind (which seems to be a very common thing) then if user clicked on btnSMP(0) then it was selected and the other one was not.That is not possible in Visual Studio 2008 for what ever reason the higher ups decided. I have read a number of articles now in MSDN about how to duplicate that feature in VB.net code but it seems to be a lot of work and they add in many features I do not have a need of

However, right now, i need to create 4 buttons to simulate the diagonal position of the image.Right now, the accelerometer can move the image in 4 directions (mainly left, right , Up, Down).The 4 buttons mention, is in diagonal position( 45 degree Leftup, 45 degree Leftdown, 45 degreeRightu, 45 degree RightUp, 45 degree RightDown).I need to do it the way in which when my image is moved using the accelerometer, and once when i hit any of the 4 buttons, the image move accordingly. I have five groupbox control. each groupbox contain two radiobutton.
In groupbox1 if I select
radiobutton1 then I need to insert value as "Y"
or
radiobutton2 then I need to insert value as "N"

I have a For Each loop going through the controls in a panel disabling them. When the loop reaches one certain grid control and disables it the CheckedChanged event fires for the next control in the loop which is a radio button.

View 3 RepliesI'm using Visual Studio 2005, net framework 2.0, Microsoft Internet Explorer ver 7.0.5730.13. Create a form with the webbrowser control and two buttons. Use the code that i provided at the end of this question to understand the scenario. As far as i know, this behaviour happens only on the myspace.com web site. 1. Navigate to your myspace.com inbox page, read a message and click on the reply button to reply to the message. The page will show correctly in the web browser.2. Then click on Button1, repeat the same process (read a message in the myspace.com inbox, click on the reply button), and the textboxes where you have to enter your reply will be gone.3. Then click on Button2, repeat the same process, and the page will show correctly in the web browser.4. Then comment out or remove the oDoc_MouseDown event, click on Button1, repeat the same process, and the page will show correctly.Why does the page shows correctly when the oDoc_MouseDown event is removed? The same behaviour happens if you use any other event of the oDoc variable.I desperately need the page on myspace to be shown correctly with the oDoc_MouseDown event and other events of the oDoc variable.
