Generic Was Used With Wrong Number Of Arguments Error?
Feb 12, 2010
Does anyone know what on earth this is? i can't get it to go away.model {"The generic type 'System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl`1' was used with the wrong number of generic arguments in assembly 'System.Web.Mvc...it happens when i call a newly constructed model that i pass to a partial view, and try using/calling some methods of it in the view.
I generally use VB.Net for programming but I have been delegated to a VBA project that would benefit from using script control for running script. Here is sample code but errors out on the .Run line of code. I can do this in VB.Net easy but can't get it to work in vba.
ERROR = Wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignment
Option Explicit Dim sc As New ScriptControl Sub RunFunctions()
[code]....
Using the .Eval function from the script control object runs ok in vba but does not run scripts.
Sub SimpleTask() Dim expr As String sc.Language = "VBScript"
So I've recently been vexed by problems similar to this one: Oracle .NET error - Wrong number or type of arguments. I know oracle is famous for its terrible error reporting, but this is a giant pain to debug -- if you have ten parameters, that's twenty things to check by hand (types and names,) not to mention the actual number of parameters, and if they're actually legitimate values.
Is there some way to get better diagnostics on stored procedure calls to oracle?
I am trying to create a program that has a button and a text box. Everytime the button is pushed I want it to add one to the text box. I keep getting this error: Overload resolution failed because no accessible 'Int' accepts this number of arguments?
Option Strict On
Public Class Form1 Private Sub btnPlus_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnPlus.Click Dim i As Integer = Int.Parse(txtAdd.Text) i += 1
im new in .net bt b4 i use vb6 and i wander what should i do. i incounter that errror.Arguments are of the wrong type, are out of acceptable range, or are in conflict with one another.and here are the following code that i use.
Public Class Form1 Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click rs = New ADODB.Recordset With rs .Open("select * from tbllogpass ", cn, 1, 2)
I am working in vb.net 08.When i will work on the recordset then it will give the error:"Arguments are of the wrong type, are out of acceptable range, or are in conflict with one another."
I am using the below Imports System.Data Imports System.Data.OleDb Imports System.Windows.Forms Imports System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewColumnCollection Imports System.IO
I have converted c# .cs to vb:= I have 6 errors on:
Red "List" says Too few type arguments to system.Collections.Generic.List(Of T)' Orange "Calendar" says Value of type 'System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlCollection' cannot be converted to 'Form1.Kobush.Windows.Forms.Appointment'.
I have a question. In the framework, that was largely written before the generics came, you often see a function with lots of overloads to do something with different types. [code] and then have some kind of ifs/switch statements with typeof() to try to infer what the types are and what to do with them. What is best practise? Or what are the ideias that'd help me choose between a) and b)?
I am trying to customize the color of a microsoft graph chart in access using vba but my chart.seriescollection.count doesn't give me the right count?! It is stuck at 4 I don't know why. However, I've created a recordset from the query used to create the graph and the DAO fields are right. I tried to refresh the graph, close it and open it, reboot. My graph displays properly with the right data but I can't set the colors like I want and it is the most important part of it because I am plotting rock codes.
I need to have multiple lines in a cell, so I use DataGridViewTextBoxColumn.DefaultCellStyle.WrapMode =DataGridViewTriState.True. I add columns (datagridviewtextboxcolumn) in designer. Then bound datagridview to a table which has exact the same columns as datagridview. Then I find that datagridview has duplicate columns: the first column is empty (which I guess is added through designer), the second column is filled with data from table. My question is how to correctly allow multi-lines and bound to a table at the same time?
In Designer Friend WithEvents DGV As New System.Windows.Forms.DataGridView Friend WithEvents columnClient As System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewTextBoxColumn Friend WithEvents columnAccount As System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewTextBoxColumn Me.DGV.Columns.AddRange(New System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewColumn()
I am trying to upload a file to Mainframe machine from my VB.net application. I am getting the following error. The remote server returned an error: (501) Syntax error in parameters or arguments
I have an application where I read a text file into a richtextbox and I am searching for an especific string then I should get the line number where the string is located, but I am getting a wrong result. Got to be something with my code and I can't findwhat's wrong.
Dim Index, Line, MaxLine As Integer Dim FileText As New RichTextBox '
I'm currently making a email client, and currently this is a road block I have not been able to come over.
Dim mail As New MailMessage mail.Subject = ("Server log for ") + options.server.Text + TimeOfDay mail.To.Add = options.toaddress.Text + options.esp.selecteditem
basically just trying to use if statements for my code so people cannot enter the wrong information like letters into the account number box
If (txtAcountNumberInput.Text = "") Or (txtTelephoneNumberInput.Text = "") Or (ComboBoxPhonePlan.Text = "") Or (txtCallDuration.Text = "") Or (txtCallDate.Text = "") Or (ComboBoxCountryBeingCalled.Text = "") Or (txtTimeAsCustomer.Text = "") Or (ComboBoxEveningCall.Text = "") Then
[code]....
so you see up the top i have if all any fields ="" then error that's fine it's a problem i need to so if statements so "account number" and hone number" cant be letters etc and if they are a error box will come up how i have done it does do that but ti still continues down the code hence cashing when getting to declaring things how to fix this?
I have read just about every other post on this forum and many others, but they do not sort out the problem I have. I am building a website using asp in dreamweaver backed with an access database (this is what the company chose not me!)My page is a search page and is based on user input, my SQL query works as I have tested it both in access and through dreamweaver when setting up my dataset.Everything works, until I place a datagrid on my page to display the dataset results, then I get this error.
Compilation Error Description:An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately.
[code].....
I haven't included all of the html as I don't see it being of any relevance to the error.
I have a problem and stuck on it here is my code it produce the following error "Too many arguments to Public Sub New()"
Dim con As New OleDbConnection("Provider=MSDAORA.1;Data Source=(DESCRIPTION=" _ + "(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=196.111.116.205)(PORT=1521)))" _ + "(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=Dummy)));" _
I've got a DataGridview I want to remove columns from as it greatly increases performance when I format the DGV. The first time I remove columns in a loop (using the removeat) property, everythings fine. But when I try to remove more columns in another loop, it appears to remove the wrong columns and displays the wrong data. In other words, it displays the wrong data and headers; and the columns it does show has headers and cells that don't match.
I'm passing in a sql command such as "EXEC StoredProc 0" into a a function called ExecMyCommand where StoredProc is a stored procedure taking a parameter of 1 or 0.It works fine with the following code.I had tried to judge success by looking at NumRowsAffected but soon realized that the -1 could represent a successful run even if -1 was the return value. So then I changed the code and return mLastRunOutcome = False if there is an error. So for testing I changed the name of the SP to like StoredProc2 in the database and ran the same command "EXEC StoredProc 0" and to my amazement, no errors were thrown in the code below..Of course ran the same command in Query Analyzer and it barked that there was no SP by that name. How do I know when a command ran successfully or not in code here? and Why didn't the ExecuteNonQuery throw an error when the command was not right??[code]
my program creates an error code when i enter the worng data but is only does it once, what code do i use to make it stop you until you enter the corrct data
We have migrated our Vb6 application to VB.NET using a third party tool. Now we are in a process of Refactoring and introducing object oriented concepts in the application.
In VB6, we were using structures in many places. As a part of introducing object oriented programming,
1. is it a good idea of changing all Structures to Classes? or Is there a concept of "Generic Structure" similar to Generic collections, Generic classes?
2. Can some one guide me any source containing guide lines or best practices for applications that are migrated to VB.NET from VB6 and implementing object oriented programmaing.
I have a base class, "B", which has two constructors, one with no paremeters and the other that accepts one param, an integer. I have a subclass, "S", which inherits from "B" and does not define any constructors in it. I create an instance of S, attempting to pass to the constructor an integer.
I get the error: Error 1 Too many arguments to 'Public Sub New()"
This surprises me because I thought that if a constructor is not defined in the subclass, S, that the base class constructor method, specifically, the one with the single integer param would be invoked w/o an error. why I am getting this error? Are constructors a special case?
While running the code I've included below I receive the error "EntityCommandExecutionException was unhandled by user code.I'm then told to look at the inner exception for details...and there I see under Data:"In order to evaluate an indexed property, the property must be qualified and the arguments must be explicitly supplied by the user."And under Inner Exception --> Message:"A transport-level error has occurred when receiving results from the server.[code]
I have 10 year old animated GIF that works fine in an internet browser, but when I set it as an image in a picture box I get the following error: "A generic error occurred in GDI+." I attached the file. Does anyone know how I can get this image to place in my vb form? If the image needs to be modified?
I have some code that takes a screen capture of my monitor. This code seems to work perfectly OK and can take multiple screen captures, apart from when I do a Print Screen using the keyboard or open SnagIT 8, when I then try to run my code again I get an error "A generic error occured in GDI+" I am at a bit of a loss, I have had a look on the internet, but everything I seem to find appears to be related to web apps. and access permissions. This is a window based application and therefore can not seem to find an answer.[code]
