Transparent Listveiw Or Stretch Listview Background Image?
Apr 15, 2010I am making an operating system based game in visual basic. The real problem is that the game runs full screen and when it comes to desktop backgrounds I am having heaps of problems.First I had the desktop as just the forms background image but I needed to add icons to the desktop so I anchered a listveiw onto the background and the problem is that the listview is not transparent and you can't see the desktop background.
I thought that I could fix that problem by setting the background image on the listveiw as the background image but the problem is when i set a background image on the listveiw there is no option to stetch the image. The only option is to tile the background image.
How can I get the listveiw either transparent or set it a stretched background. ( the user gets to choose a desktop background so they all need to be able to stretch to the full desktop of the user's screen resolution.)

Mar 22, 2010Ok i am making a game (based on windows95)....i have it going good so far.I have it so you can open notepad (this is in a panel and its not the real system notepad)You can click save document and it saves the text it in a hidden textbox with a random filename (defined by user) and it saves it in a listveiw (windows explorer type thing).The idea is i want it to be so that if you double click the listveiw item it will open the textfile (text stored in a hidden textbox) Heres my code which is attempting to do this but i just can't think how to link them.

Jan 2, 2012I recently found this code (provided for third party use on another VB site), however,ll of my attempts to insert it into a class library have failed.I open a new class library and past the code in, and immediately get several errors pertaining to how certain objects can't be found. I find it it is crucial to use this code, unless someone can suggest to me another example of existing code that will do the same thing: make a restricted textbox who imputs can be restricted, that can handle pasting, shortcuts, text property setting, and script-entered text.

Asp.net - User Enters Code Into TextBox, Code Gets Added To URL (using Session)?
Sep 1, 2011I'm using ASP.net 4.0 VB,I am using a session variable to add a user entered code into the url of each page. I can get the code to show up at the end of the page's URL that my textbox is on, but what do I add to every page to make sure that the session stays at the end of every URL that person visits during their session? This is the code from the page that the user enters their user code.

May 15, 2012I am working on WPF application. I have a window which has "Combobox" and "Textboxes". Well,I want to display the selected combobox values in textbox. (Combo Box displays the concatenated string firstname+lastname+initials).But I have two text box for firstname & second name. I want to display only "firstname" in first text box and "last name" in second text box.I wrote the below code. IT displays the values but concatenated. IS there any way I can just display first name in first text box and last name in second text box.

Sep 26, 2011I have a dropdown list that will add new titles to my database, however I would like to add a textbox that will allow the user to type in a new title if there is nothing in the dropdown that makes any sense for what they are trying to add.
I have the dropdown dynamically getting titles from the database. Unfortunately, this means that the first value in the dropdown list is not a default that says "Select an option." I don't know how to get the dropdown to have the first option listed as "Select" when the values are being pulled from the database. I can't add Select an option to the database so how would this even work?
What can I add to my codebehind that will allow the textbox to insert into the database if the dropdown list is not inserting anything? Right now I don't have any codebehind for the textbox but I do have the dropdown list inserting the correct information.

1 RichTextBox (RichTextBox1) 8 Buttons (Colors: Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, Teal, Pink, White, Black) (Button1 until Button8)
1 Button "Copy Selected Text" (Button9) 1 TextBox (TextBox1) 1 Button "Copy Finished Text to Clipboard" (Button10)
2) Here is how the program should work:
I write some text into the RichTextBox I select specific parts of the text, click one of the 8 color buttons and the selected text becomes that color. I do that until all the text is randomly colored e.g: Red Green Yellow Blue Teal Pink White Black
I select all of the text "RedGreenYellowBlueTealPinkWhiteBlack" I press the "Copy Selected Text" Button (Button9) The selected text should become visible in the TextBox like this: ^1Red^2Green^3Yellow^4Blue^5Teal^6Pink^7White^8Black
I press the "Copy Finished Text to Clipboard" (Button10) The character count (length) of the TextBox1 should not exceed 32 characters. If it does show message box. The whole TextBox1 should be copied. If the text is successfully copied, show MessageBox with "Success" else show MessageBox with "Error".

I'm not getting the results I want. If I've selected "Mickey Mouse" and "Donald Duck", then I get "Mickey Mouse" 3 times in the textbox. If I select "Mickey Mouse", "Donald Duck", and "Foghorn Leghorn", then "Mickey Mouse" gets displayed 4 times in the textbox.
