I want to play the next song from my listbox when the current song is finished. This is what I've tried:
If AxWindowsMediaPlayer1.playState = WMPLib.WMPPlayState.wmppsMediaEnded Then
ListBox1.SelectedIndex += 1
AxWindowsMediaPlayer1.URL = ListBox1.SelectedItem
AxWindowsMediaPlayer1.Ctlcontrols.play()
End If
It changes the index of the listbox, but it doesn't play the new file. The file exist and there's no problem playing it the normal way.

I am creating a mp3 player through VB.Net I have kept a Listbox that shows the play list. I have created the player such that it when ever the user cicks on the selection on listbox the player play the corresponding song. so the user has to click on the next song to play the next song once the previous song is finished.Now I would like to know is it possible for the player to automatically play the next song once the previous song is finished? If so how do I go about doing this on VB.Net?

i have 2 listboxes beside eachother and one listbox shows all the songs in the wmp control playlist, the other listbox always has the same topindex, im trying to show in that listbox with a pointer ('>') which song is currently playing in the media control but i need to know what the song number is in order to do that. there has to be some order, right? that increases when you go to the next song and decreases when u go to the previous?so far i have:
Private Sub wmp1_CurrentItemChange(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As AxWMPLib._WMPOCXEvents_CurrentItemChangeEvent) Handles wmp1.CurrentItemChange
Form2.ListBox2.Items.Clear()

I hve been working with points a lot recently, and I have been wondering if there is a way to set a point without setting point.x and point.y separately. For example for (3, 5): Point1 = (3, 5) But that isn't right

how to even get started with this, so I need a few tips. writing code that will allow me (or my program) to "see" what the pitch is of the sound that is currently being detected by my microphone. I am familiar with VB.NET, and Java. I think this is called a spectral analyzer... I want to build a very primitive one.

If AxWindowsMediaPlayer1.playState = WMPLib.WMPPlayState.wmppsMediaEnded Then
If playlistbox.SelectedIndex < playlistbox.Items.Count - 1 Then

I'm learning to play the Trumpet and thought it would be a great idea to write myself a flash card type program that would flash a note, pick up the sound from the microphone, determine the pitch, compare it to the note and evaluate right/wrong. For example, it puts a middle C on the screen, listens for a tone above the din and beeps or buzzes if the result is right or wrong.

I am rather new to VB and every now and then I get an idea of a small project I would like to work on to increase my skills. What I am trying to do is:
1. Input the sound from the microphone
2. Detect what pitch the sound is
3. Compare it to the pitch displayed
For example, lets say I was to have the button "Start". When start is clicked, a pre determined (Or possibly random) note is displayed through a Label for 5 seconds (Lets use C as an example). During this time, the user can attempt to match the note C. When the user sings through the microphone VB picks it up, detects what note the user is singing at, and then scores him over the 5 seconds based on the difference between his note and C. It would also be nice if I could display the volume of the microphone, but this is not too important.

I'm pretty new to VB and I chose a project for school to recognise the pitch/note of a sound comming from my microphone (Which I'm using singular notes using my Guitar). I have no idea if this is even possible :/ So if possible, what things should I be considering and what I pretty much need to do to get the ball rolling for me

get data like the pitch and volume of the sound currently being "heard" through a microphone?
Do you know the little graph which the Windows 98/XP sound recorder used to show? It used to show the pitch and volume of the sound which was being recorded. Like I want to get the data from that.
Basically, I will start experimenting this stuff by showing the volume of the sound entering the microphone in a label. And maybe the pitch too.

I'm trying to extract a piece of text from within the string, defining both a starting point and an ending point. For instance, say I want to search for the text found between "That is a " and " car" in the string "That is a red car", so it would return "red".I know you can use .SelectionStart and SelectionLength, but the length of the word can change, so the selection length can vary. What I want is to establish a specific starting point and a specific ending point from which to extract the text from the string.

I'm trying to calculate the direction between two points on a two-dimensional grid. Actually I want to determine if that vector is within a range of two values. Suppose the grid's origin is 0,0 at the upper left corner, and 0 degrees represents north. I have a point A on that grid. I want to know if a line from point A to point B on the grid is within a range of directions between 111.8 degrees (a little south of east) and 158.2 (a little east of south). Those are approximations; the 111.8 is 90 degrees plus the arctangent of 2/5, and 158.2 is 180 minus that value. I worked out a series of calculations worthy of a medieval astronomer, but I suspect there is a simpler way. I'm going to have to do this for a variety of other vectors, and I'd like to generalize

I need to move an ellipse from a known point on the screen to another known point on the screen.
I've tried using For.....Loops with less than desired results.
I can't remember everything I've tried, a lot of trial and error has been layed to waste. Lol
I've ended up with this code after putting together what I've tried, what I've learned elsewhere, and a couple of posts I've read on here.
All I want to do is move the ellipse from one point to the other along a straight line that forms the angle between the two points (X1,Y1) and (X2,Y2), make it grow from 2 pixels at it's start, to about 80 pixels by the time it reaches half way, then shrink from 80 pixels back down to 2 pixels by the time it reaches the point (X2,Y2).
Easier said than done.
Here's what I have at the present.....
Dim W As Integer
Dim H As Integer
Dim Num As Integer
[Code].....
....This seems like such a simple task, yet it's been a week since I came up with the idea, and I've had little success.
