Generating Standard Letters For End User To View And Print
Aug 8, 2009Im developing an app at the moment where standard letters need to be generated to be sent out to customers. With the customers details then filled in as you would expect... name, title, address, etc. This is an app ontop of a SQL db. The way i envisioned this working was to send the customer details to another form that had a crystal report in, and send the info via a SQL query, just as you might get a grid view to open with a query.
Thing is im struggling with it, getting the query to work especially. Ive built the report and put the relevant field place holders in there, but i cant get it to open with just the one customers info in there, it gets every customer and builds a report several thousand pages long! This is because of the "command" thats on the report that i stuck in there on a temp basis while i designed the thing.
However i want the the report to open via a button on another form, and then fill the report with the customers details (using the customer ID number on the form the button was clicked) Since im struggling with this so much, im actually wondering if im going the best way about this? Are there better ways of generating a standard letter that the end user can then view, check it, and hit print?
Hide Print Dialog When Printing?
Jun 3, 2010I am using this code to print a screen shot with the Adobe PDF printer driver.
It is all working fine except it also captures the printing dialog in the screen shot
There is a hide button on the dialog but it prints before i have the opportunity to select "Hide"
I also cannot find a property to use the hide option.[code]..

Dec 2, 2009I am using the 2005 Power Packs Print Forms, I need to hide the filetoolstripmenu in order to print because it come through on my client page So I am using filetoolstripmenusitem.visible= false, then calling print but i think its happens to fast so part of the filetoolstripitem is still coming through on my print image Is there something i can do to pause it for a second?

2. I must hide the menu bar, navigation bar, etc from the adobe reader AxAcroPDF because it is a touch screen application and we don't want people to be able to get any access to the actual computer.

Asp.net + Previewing An Image Without Saving It Locally?
Nov 15, 2011I a function belows which is being used to preview an image but that involves saving the image locally in my drive. I am using this feature in an data entry form which means if the user discards the form, I have to delete the image which I feel is not efficient. How can I go about previewing the image and only save it locally if the user saves the form.

Dec 24, 2008i haven't messed with much of the web content of vb, oh, im using VB 2008 Pro. Edition.Now, my problem is this...Inside my program, i have a webbrowser that only loads local html files, so what i need to do is somehow have the option to show up on the menu of "PRINT BACKGROUND COLORS AND IMAGES".Is there a way to ENABLE this option for the webbrowser1.etc...() class?any example code would help greatly if theres another way to print <body background> images.is there anyway to get that option that appears in IE's pagesetup "Print background colors and images" checkbox to show up in the webbrowser1.showpagesetup()?

But i select to preview through my built in webcam, it works.So, can anyone can the code attached for me?For your information, the USB webcam can function properly using other video/image software.

Hide/Show Items - Possible To Hide A Group Of Text Boxes From View In A Form
May 5, 2012I'm curious if it is possible to hide a group of text boxes from view in a form until a particular condition is met, and to have a custom set of text boxes for that condition. To give an example; I want radio buttons offering choices for a manner of searching records, the user selects one and then a specific set of text boxes are displayed for the user to utilize, if a different option is chosen a different set of text boxes will be shown. Is this something that can be done?

Millspaugh). but this one is making my head want to explode. please point me in the right direction with this.
Heres the problem. The company has instituted a bonus program to give its employees an incentive to sell more. For every dollar the store makes in a four-week period, the employees receive 2 percent of sales. The amount of bonus each employee receives is based upon the percentage of hours he or she worked during the bonus period (a total of 160 hours). The Calculate button will determine the bonus earned by this employee, and the Clear button will clear only the name, hours-worked, and bonus amount fields. A Print button allows the user to print the form. Do not allow missing or bad input data to cancel the program; instead display a message to the user.

Dec 14, 2011My instructor told us how to print documents and how to use databases. What the instructor did not mention is how to print or print a preview of records within a DatabaseDataSet. The book "Programming in Visual Basic 2010" does not explain how to print or do a print preview of Database Source records from within a form. The only thing I was told was to test the print document first before you try to do a print preview. Within a form I used a DataGridView to add, delete, and update the database. So now all I need to do is figure out how to print the updated records from the DataGridView and how to print a preview of the records within the DataGridView. So I hope my question is clear enough to give me assistance on how I can perform these two actions. Thanks this would be a great help, and since the class is online we can get assistance from any sources that we have.
