View 2 RepliesI have an image called Image1 I have a button called Button1 I have a resource called display1 Basically, I want the Image1 to show display1 when the button is clicked.I've frigging looked all over the net. I CANNOT find anything. All people "work around" my.resources. They just propose solutions that involve Uri and getting the resource from a file path. All I want to do, is use My.resources.display1 as the image.

Is it possible to see the source code through the program debug database file. I lost the source code file but eventually I just have the exe and the pdb file, I am just wondering is there a possibility to get the source code through the pdb ?
View 3 RepliesHow do you access a web page's source code without downloading the file? i.e., downloading a .php file generally wouldn't work - I want to access the code that it would return if I was using a browser.

View 6 RepliesI am developing a VB.Net windows application to replace a legacy Access database. I started with the legacy database (.mdb) and made changed to tables (like deleting unused columns) and changing anniversaries from 3 columns (day, month, and year) to DataTime etc recognized the need to import data from the legacy system at the time when the new one goes live and wrote an import dialog to do this. And this is where my problem is. The importer correctly imports the data and writes new tables, but each time I restart the application I have the old data back.
This is the approach I took:
In the load event I fill each tableadapter in the new (target) dataset as follows:
Me.ClientInfoTableAdapter1.Fill(Me.DataSet1.ClientInfo)

I have some sorce codes on my comp. and i am employing a few s/w guys for coding at my office i would like to know what type of security softwares / hardware i should install so that the employees do not copy my source codes and i would like to give them access to net but not to attach my source code. i have searched on net ...but as i lack the basics of this i am asking the favour from all u experts. most of the search has sent me to the links for antivirus or antispyware....and like wise.
View 6 RepliesI'm getting this error when I go to insert data into access DB using vb.net 2008 which is specified by the user.
"OleDbException was Unhandled No value given for one or more required parameters "
If I hard code the values it works just fine.
Imports System.Data
Imports System.Data.OleDb

1) Add a new record - I can currently add records text to access database, but not images.
2) Get the ID [URL]I'm not sure how to integrate this code into my code. I am stuck here.
3) Save the image in the filesystem using the ID as a filename - I can save the upload an image and save the image to a directory on my computer, but I am unable to name the image that of the ID of the access database.
4) Update the database to put the filename in the record you just created. - I am unable to do this as well (obviously).

Dim custDb As Data.OleDb.OleDbConnection
Dim cmdInsertCustomers As Data.OleDb.OleDbCommand

I hoping to find a current and simple way to do this. I'm using VWD Express 2008 and SQL Express 2008.I'm able to get the client's path to the image file using an asp:FileUpload control on the web form.
How do I upload the client's image file and display it in the web form's image control? How do I save it to the sqlserver? The image table is already set up with a "Image" data type column. Can the image be saved to the database as simply as other data types?
I've been trying to make a program which access the internet and takes the source code from the webpage. I've copied this code from the internet:

View 3 RepliesIs there a way to hide the password of your database inside the source code? [code] As you can see the password is exposed, increasing the risk for the database to be compromise. Is there anything you can suggest how can I work around this one?

After trawling around the net for a good few days, i decided to post something here.
Basically, i've got a problem linking a data source (Access 2007 database) to a VB 2008 project.
I've broken it down to having a problem dragging a table onto my form, when it generates the nav bar, it says "0 of {0}", and the table is empty (despite the actual database containing values)
However, this happens only at home, at college it works totally fine. The only difference that's obvious is that i'm using Windows 7 at home, and Windows XP at college.
I have recently been working on a number of sections of code that deal with the insertion of Nullable types into a database. As I'm sure anyone who has dealt with similar code will be aware of the annoyance of constantly writing conditional logic to deal with the insertion of nulls into a database. I.e.:
MyValue.HasValue ? MyValue.Value : DBNull.Value;
If(MyValue.HasValue, MyValue.Value, DBNull.Value)
Basically I am just wondering why DBNull.Value exists and why Null simply couldn't be used?
Actually in our project we create different database using vb form code..so this database is a chance of transferring to other users to use others database. so when we create the database it will insert the database name into the main database. Problem: One user who is accessing MS 2010 ACCESS has created a database and transferred into other PC where MS 2003 access available..when he is going to insert database name into main database which is transferred it is not inserting into main database exception is occured..

How do I convert a VB4 source code to VB10 source code?
View 3 RepliesI have a similar problem posted in the forum similar to this : started learning VB. I am not able to get my example code to work to access an Access database through automation. The author of my book suggested that I might not have the correct Jet 4.0 engine. The specs I have are: MSJet40.dll, Dated 7/14/2009, Prod Ver 4.00.9756.0.
View 3 RepliesOnly my local dataset updates when adding, deleting or editing records. The Source Database is supposed to update on issuing DataAdapter. Update(dataset )However, when I check my source database after running the operations it remains the same as the original.
View 6 RepliesI don't know what this is called so I've struggled to find an answer from google but I have a vague memory of it from t'old days.I've sub-classed (* see below) about 8 framework controls, overriden some properties and added some functionality into each one.The changes I have made are identical in every case. If I make a change, I have to go through each class and apply the same change there.I was hoping there may be a keyword such as <IncludeSourcefile "common.vb> that I can put into each class.
(* note) I use the term sub-classed but I don't know if that's the correct terminology. I've also seen it used for call-backs. Is sub-classed the correct term to use?
Way to space out the source code of a web page, having each tag on one line, without having to search for each tag ending and then making a new line after.
My code for obtaining the source code is:

Also if anyone knows a way to colour the tags.
I have an Access database and I want to view on a datagridview specific rows. For that I used the following :
CasesBindingSource.Filter =
"OfferDate Between #1/1/1997# And #12/31/1997#"
Cases is the table, OfferDate a field of the table wich is DateTime type.
When I use Between operator I get the following error :The expression contains unsupported operator 'Between'.
I am programming with Access 2007 VB.net in Visual Studio 2010.I am trying to have my VB program read the database, extract the .bmp image, and assign it to a PictureBox on the fly (I am actually creating a Group on the fly and filling it with data from the database that are selected by my query. One of the fields is "image". All of my other fields are successfully transferring from the DB to the group box.) My problem is converting the OLE Object to a picture/image that I can assign to the PictureBox.I am using TableAdapters and queries set up in an .xsd.I have a database with an OLE Object field. Here is a code snipit of my database set up:
Dim ta AsNew dsWhiteboardTableAdapters.MonstersTableAdapter
Dim monsterList AsNewdsWhiteboard.MonstersDataTable
Dim monster AsdsWhiteboard.MonstersRow
