Way To Hide Password Of Database Inside Source Code?
Feb 15, 2012
Is there a way to hide the password of your database inside the source code? [code] As you can see the password is exposed, increasing the risk for the database to be compromise. Is there anything you can suggest how can I work around this one?
[URL] but then with the option to provide username & password. I have managed to do this with the webbrowser, first logging in then go to webpage and get source code but this takes much longer than just getting the source code...
Is there any way to do this? I found this:
[URL]
I tried with &username=...&password=... in the URL but it didn't work

I don't know what this is called so I've struggled to find an answer from google but I have a vague memory of it from t'old days.I've sub-classed (* see below) about 8 framework controls, overriden some properties and added some functionality into each one.The changes I have made are identical in every case. If I make a change, I have to go through each class and apply the same change there.I was hoping there may be a keyword such as <IncludeSourcefile "common.vb> that I can put into each class.
(* note) I use the term sub-classed but I don't know if that's the correct terminology. I've also seen it used for call-backs. Is sub-classed the correct term to use?
Way to space out the source code of a web page, having each tag on one line, without having to search for each tag ending and then making a new line after.
I'm sure there is a pretty simple answer to this, or at least I hope there is.I've created a data source (Teradata table) and opted not to save any username or password info when doing so with the "Add data source wizard" the reason for this is because the passwords change every 3 months. I have a form that is bound to the data source (teradata database) but when opened i receive the message "[Teradata Database] [8017] The UserId, Password or Account is invalid." because there is no username or password data saved. For example, i can open a linked table (the same table) via access and i'm prompted to enter a password (ODBC connection).
I have designed the image with a pink frame inside the image, so I would like to know how to hide the pink frame inside the image and make the picture going into a shape??

I have a project where I added visually and successfully a datasource of MySql. I binded a datagridview with a table.
But, how do I change programatically the password, ip or user to connect with the MySql server? Because it can change at any time, so I can let the user change these values.
In vb.net I am using password protected database with following connection stringconnetionString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=C:vaivaiDB.mdb;JetOLEDB:Database Password=secret;"Database access works fine on the development machine.
When I am developing an application and I use the 'Data Source' tab to create a database, will that database be automatically created when I use the software on another machine?
I have VS 2005 installed in my sytem fyi.We have two databases, say source database and destination database. The databases is in Oracle. Now we need to pull data from Source database, manipulate it and push it into the destination database on daily basis. We are planning to use VB .Net for this and would like to know if this is feasible. Using windows forms through VB .NET, is it possible to create a exe and schedule the exe on nightly basis to pull the data from source to destination.how to do this as for manipulation of data, there is no intermediate database for us?

Is there a way to hide comments in the code editor?Would have been nice with a button to toggle comments visible or not since I use a lot of comments for my code which makes it hard to read.
This question is more out of curiosity than a project requirement or a problem.I have a Non-CLS compliant code in one language (say C#), and I need to use it like that only in my current language (across projects, so making internal is not a choice), and at the same time want to allow other languages (say VB) to be able to call the conflicting implementations without generating compile time error.
