I'm curious if it is possible to hide a group of text boxes from view in a form until a particular condition is met, and to have a custom set of text boxes for that condition. To give an example; I want radio buttons offering choices for a manner of searching records, the user selects one and then a specific set of text boxes are displayed for the user to utilize, if a different option is chosen a different set of text boxes will be shown. Is this something that can be done?
I want to display the text of a label as a underscore character until specified otherwise. Kind of like how you can show text in a textbox as any character using passwordchar

I translated a vendor generated .NET program and started modifying.Later I realized it has most of the Form design text mixed with the rest of the code. How can i separate them or make it invisible without loosing the Form or my code.[code]
I have a word document (word 2000) and a drop down form field with options A, B and C.If the user pics A, I wants to hide some text and show some other text. If they pick B, then hide something else, show something else, and so on.How does one do this?I assume I need to pass the form field contents to a procedure or macro and then go into If >Then font.hidden = true or something? I've identified the text to hide/show with bookmarks, so I think I can use the bookmark as a range to hide or show?
How do I pass the form field content to the procedure? Also, can I trigger the procedure once the user selects something in the drop down? Like kick a macro off I'm thinking?
I cant seem to find any link or topic regarding my problem. I have 2 forms in a project, form one has labels and adjacent combobox while the other form (form 2)has textboxes with adjacent combobox. I am supposed to change the text property of the labels using textbox entry from form 2 and add/delete/change combobox contents in fom 1 using entries combobox at form 2.
Is there a way to hide the password of your database inside the source code? [code] As you can see the password is exposed, increasing the risk for the database to be compromise. Is there anything you can suggest how can I work around this one?
I am new to the forums and just started to learn vb.net. Currently I am making a project that require a lot of text. Since I would need over 20 labels and do not want to hide every single one, is there a way to place text on a specific place on form through coding. Then, I could just make it a sub and easily hide the text and reveal it
I'm trying to create a password change form for my company's vendors. There are a couple of scenarios I could encounter doing this:
1 - User enters invalid current password 2 - New passwords do not match 3 - User's account is locked 4 - User cannot authenticate because password is expired
It's case 4 that I'm struggling with, because their is no way for me to take the password the user entered and verify it against active directory without getting an error.
I have a label. Whenever i change the text, the text allows extends to the right. How do i get it so that the text extends to the left.Right now, the text covers up the control to the right of the label depending upon the lable text. i want to prevent this from happening.
I am developing a testing application consisting of 50 multiple choice questions each with 3 radio buttons to select the answer choices for my workplace and I just had a couple of questions concerning storing user input for review and displaying the next and previous questions. First - Would it be more practical to display each new question and the answer choices on a completely new form or in labels and just have the click event procedure of the Next button change the text properties of the labels and display the new text? Second - I want the application to store the user's answer choices so that at the end of the exam they can see how many they missed, which ones they got wrong, and then print the graded result. I have no idea how to store the input for later review and printing. Lastly - I would like the user to be able to mark questions for later review as they are taking the exam. For example, if the user selects an answer that they are not 100% sure of, the can mark a checkbox so that at the end of the exam they can review the answers they were unsure of. I guess I am just looking for some direction in developing this type of application. As of yet I have only done simple projects for school and this to me seems a bit out of my league. I have already designed the user interface and created a TOE chart but I would like some input on how to actually code the application.
I have two forms (form1,form2). Now I have button in form1 that executes to display text into label1 at form2. How to call it? Do I need to have module for this?
Just a little help needed. How would I print the text to a label instead of the form. And how would I change the font size. Then how do I hide the form? This will then allow just the text to be shown,
i have made a program that needs a password to activate it but i would like it to look for a text file in the same directory called "password.text" as it will alow me to change the password.
I'm making a custom control suited for handling passwords. I have created a control that inherits from a text box and I have implemented a lot of things so far. But what i want to do now is create a system so that when a user types It will display his last character typed for a X amount of time.Is there a way to turn only selected characters into password characters and still be able to get the password text from the Text property ?
I am brand new to Vb.Net and was wondering how I could loop through each label and say if the label.text = 0 then Hide panel1. How would I get that accomplished?
I am successfully hiding a combobox, based on the selection of another combobox. However, I can not get the label of the combobox to hide as well. The code I am using, which is basically the same code for hiding the combobox itself returns the following error: Error 1 'DOCUMENT_EVALLabel' is not a member of 'WindowsApplication1.Form1' Here is the code I am using for the label: Me.DOCUMENT_EVALLabel.Visible = (EVALUATIONComboBox.Text = "Text")

Design a form, which contain a TEXTBOX control that accept a UserID input, with a CommandButton control to perform a validation based on the criteria listed below. Display a Message on whether the UserID is Valid.
Criteria:
The UserID must contains SIX digits follow by a single character, limit the entry to a maximum of seven characters only.
The postfix character of the UserID is derived from the summation of all the six digits divided by seven and using the remain as followed:

In a piece of code I am writing I am trying to change the text of a label in my form based on a timer. I have MANY other labels that are all updating in their own subs and when I try to add any new labels(in any sub) to update it wont. I am using Label.Text = counter where counter is a string that is changing. I have tried refreshing the form, Label.refresh() Label1.Update()....The only thing I think it could be is that the redraw is being held up by other calculations on the cpu. How can I make the label text change and update properly?
It didnt work for me and i dont know why. i want to display text on label when the form load.the text to display is according to the enable or disable state of some custom button .
I have designed a windows form(to act as a messagebox) with Label and OK, Cancel buttons. I'm on form1 and call this messagebox form in the closing event. If I debug the showdialog of the messagebox form the custom text is displayed on the Label, however if the application is minimized and when i right click on the application in taskbar and select close window then the messagebox form is poped up however the label doesn't show the custom text.
