I am loading a series of JPG images into an image list then using that to fill a list view. My program is using ALOT of memory by doing this. What would be the easiest way to add the images but take up less memory/time?
View 3 RepliesI'm storing images in a List Of Image. When I want to clear/remove all the images it contains should I dispose & set each item to nothing before using .Clear? Or can you just call .Clear? I'm doing it like this for now...

I get some very generik trouble need to implement List View with Image in SubItem. All can be very fine ....But I need to use Virtual Mode. Whatever I search I haven't still found working solution's. I have found some C# code that seem's do that. But I can't convert it in VB.Net. let's explain detaly.

View 2 RepliesMy application uses a list view that populates with images from files. The items in the list can be edited by the user including updating the menu images but when that happens the list view loses all it's images and won't reload them without re-booting the application.Here's a screen shot of my list view when you first start up the app Screeshot1 ..which is correct. and here is the code that loads the images (lvBinSelect is the list view in question)..

picBinSave and picMenuSave are the image boxes on the second tab you see in the last screen shot that previews the images. These refresh perfectly on updating.Now as you can see it calls the UpdateCalcPicList function again after clearing the list view which should in theory repopulate the list view with the updated images.But All I get is this after a user has changed an image and they go back to the first tab....The images are loading back into teh list view. The only way to get them back is to restart the application and it's fine again and load with the new image the user changed to. I have had to use 'Application.Restart()' after the change is made as a workwround but this is obviously not ideal.

i have a program with the ability to save view and scan images. i am currently working on making work area's. so i have two list box's. listbox one is for the image area name. listbox2 is to list the pages in selected image area (mouse click). i have created the form to show you and i will post a link below. i have started trying to do it but have got stuck. i use an input box to give the image area's names. but thats as far as i have got at the min.
i need to be able to make image area's and list/view the images in my picturebox. plus i would like to create a folder or how ever many the user makes behind the scene thats called whatever the image area is called and in that folder is the images the user has saved in that folder. sorry if this is hard to understand. i have asked on another forum but i didnt get what i wanted it to do.

by the way i can save an image but it only saves it one certaint place and i cant save more thasn one as it replaces the image. and as for the scanned image thats the same.

The program will then retrieve the image from the image path and will be stored into ImageList. The Listview1 will then add the pictures of Imagelist into the ListView1.Items. So what I would like is a code that list all images in a folder of choice in a ImageList then I have a Next and Previous button to show diffrent pictures inside a PictureBox.
I have 2 linked DB tables, Artists and Albums using ArtistID as the primary/foreign key.When I want to add a new Album, I have a new form open and I can fill a combobox with the list of Artists to choose from and edit all the details then save to the database.
However, when I want to edit the Album info, I can't seem to get the Artist associated with the Album, as well as all the rest of the Artists from that table, (in case I need to change the Artist associated with the Album).The information required comes from 2 linked tables, so that's where I'm getting lost.An example of this is when a person edits their profile on a webpage, for instance, a list of countries is usually listed in a combobox and the one selected is the country they selected when filling out the form previously, however, they still have the option to change it.
Is it possible in vb.net to list view and possibly alter the contents of the ram on a computer, I presume this would have to be done through api because of the lack of access to the ram on xp +.
