Form 2 start from cbxCategory for category, then another cbxItem for item. Then a button to click �Borrow� Then it should insert.

Aug 7, 2009I am building a VB 2008 Express Edition application.I have built a database (with a single table) using SQL Server Compact 3.5 and have connected it to the project. I am able to view and edit the data using a DataGridView on a second form (tutorial made this very easy). I need to work with the data in the table within the application. how to easily load the entire table into an array or even read the table a row or cell at a time so that I can make all of the data available for manipulation within the application (the tutorials only seem to show how to display the data).

May 14, 2012I am attempting to connect to Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 from within Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. My connection string is as follows:

I keep getting this exception: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException:Login failed for user 'WindowsID'.What am I doing wrong? Are there certain permissions that I have to set up?

It always shows it's Splash Screen and then shows a error message that says Cannot Create Window and it never continued. I need to work on the new technology, VE powered by Microsoft Visual Basic, and VisualPower powered by Microsoft Visual Basic .NET. I need help on this. Please help!!!! Only Microsoft Office 2003 on Windows XP Service Pack 3. Installed with a few MB left.

Nov 24, 2009I am creating a Visual Basic 2008 .net application that will be using the Sync Service for ADO.NET on Windows 7 Ultimate. The back end database is SQL 2008. Below are the basic steps I take when the error occurs
a. Add a Local Database Cache item to my application
b. Use the Configure Data Synchronication wizard for the setup process
c. Click the OK button to accept changes
d. An error message is generated, "The given key was not present in the dictionary".
I have attempted this several times and the error message presists no matter how I vary the options. I have also installed Microsoft Sync Framework 2.0 successfully but the error persists. I also have all the following Dlls referenced in my project:
Microsoft.Synchronization.dll,
Microsoft.Synchronization.Data.dll,
Microsoft.Synchronization.Data.Server.dll,
Microsoft.Synchronization.Data.SqlServer.dll,
Microsoft.Synchronization.Data.SqlServerCe.dll.
I am sure I don't need all of these references but I figured it does not hurt to have them all referenced for now. I have the latest OS service and Visual Studio 2008 service packs.

I've got a ton of WPF and blend tutorials open in tabs in my browser, but I have no idea where to start, and no idea for a project. I asked my tutor and he said he'll be checking our understanding of XAML, and creating an object using XAML as well as the other way round.
I stumbled onto some tutorials of media players main in WPF, and I decided to go with it. But because I have never used blend or WPF along with XAML before, I don't know what to do, if say I make a button in blend with effects, so that I may add coding behind it in VB. Please help me out. There is some VB code that forms the body of a program, and all the GUI.There is also some C++ code that does some fast processing (lots of loops).
I am trying to call the C++ code, compiled as a dll, using:

Jun 30, 2009I have a form that contains a Textbox + Three sets of radiobuttons.
my project idea is to store in any database the values selected or entered by the user.
Textbox goes Name.
First set of radiobuttons are the job position - manager - superviser etc....
Second set "" "" the Period (Shift)- day - nite
Third set "" "" The Condition - part-time - full-time
Anyway, my problem is how to insert those values into a database, something very simple such as MSAccess (is possible?)

Feb 17, 2010I am working to make a function that will update the back color of a text box based on multiple variables values. I can write the code to do the calculation, but I am not sure how to make the function realize which text box to update (as I will have about 30 different boxes). Below is the code that I have for each box so far, but I will have quite a few more, and would rather use a function to reduce the amount of code, and also make it cleaner as well.

Or is there a way that I can tell the function that it's updating the text box that call the function in the first place? Say if txtBox1 has updated text and calls the function, then the function 'knows' to update txtBox1, but will update txtBox2 when it's called by txtBox2.

Mar 29, 2011i am trying to link my ms access database through a microsoft visual basics 2008. i have set up the connection using the Server Explorer by selecting the 'Connect to Database' button and navigating to your .mdb file.i can view the file from the vb software now but i cannot add to the database. when i i click add on the vb it allows me to type in the boxes. when i click save it also add to the amount of rows i have in the database but it doesnt update the database. when i preview the database it is not updated.

Feb 20, 2010Back in Visual Basic 6.0 and prior I could have a picturebox control and then have multiple images on that and using a gif file; then I'd have some images transparent. For example, I am trying to make a map where each country has it's own layer and the void is transparent so the underlying picturebox contains all the water.
However, in visual studio I've noticed the image control is now gone. I tried using a panel and a picturebox on top of that and it works but I can't use another picturebox on top of that picturebox, nor can I stack multiple panels with the same affect.
