str(1) is an array and integer(or double, tried both)
a(1) is an array and integer (or double, tried both)
a(1) = a(1) + 1
Label1.Text = str(1) + a
the big part is where i get: operator '+' is not defined for types 'integer' and '1-dimensional array of integer'.why do i get that message and what does it mean? how do i make the code do what i want?

Apr 25, 2011I'm trying to create a linked list of an array of integers. Why is the following implicit conversion required?
When I run the code that contains that conversion, I get the following error.
As a real-time data acquisition user control data (a packet of an array of bytes) arrives every second, is converted into an integer array and inserted into a linked list.
The most recently arrived data is painted as coordinates on a grid at the right of a PictureBox using Graphics.DrawLine (pen,X1,Y1,X2,Y2).
The oldest data (arriving 120 seconds ago) will be drawn at the leftmost portion of the Picturebox.
Why a linked list rather than a list? To display 120 views of time sequence data, the draw routine the most recently inserted node to a node that points to Nothing. How do I limit the length of the linked list to 120 nodes and always ensure that the last node points to Nothing?

After reading the forum I was able to append .First() to noPic at the myNoPic declaration and finally get a result but that only gave me the first element. May 28, 2009I'm just writing a bit of code to compare an id of integer with an id of integer? for example:

When I try to compile the code I get a compiler error: Option Strict On disallows implicit conversions from 'Boolean?' to 'Boolean'. Whilst it's very simple for me to work around this, I was hoping that someone might be able to explain what's going in the compiler to give this warning.

which, through the Call Stack, I found is called by the main window's InitializeComponent() method.Everywhere I've looked has told me that the corresponding static constructor in VB is just:Shared Sub New()

That one needs locking in order to be thread-safe.But what about DoSomething which doesn't use any static variables outside the method? Does it need locking too?I'd like to clarify that in this particular case I expect DoSomething to always print 0-100 in sequence (i.e. no 0123745...) regardless of number of calling threads. Oct 11, 2010I have an excel sheet developed by a vendor that I'm stuck with the current functionality as a short term solution. The users workflow have them pull 4 separate sets of data which they are copying and pasting into a different spreadsheet where they append the data to previous days' pricing for trend analysis. That macro is built looking for the first blank row in column A, simple enough.
However, they then add the current day's date to this other spreadsheet as an additional column to do that trending. I found a nice link to a site that mentioned I could do this logic by adding code by right clicking the sheet name and selecting 'View Code'. I then entered the following logic that states if column A is populated, populate Column T with today's date statically (Today and Now don't work because I need it to stay at that date when it is refreshed). My issue is that this works great if I enter test data into cell A and hit enter. However it is not populating the date if a copy and paste is executed into the column A. Is there something I'm missing or a recommendation to have this work with copy/paste?
