Listbox Items Colour - Two Types Of Items Populating In A Listbox (checked Listbox)
Apr 28, 2009I am using VB.NET (version 2008). I have two types of items populating in a listbox (checked listbox). For example: lets say one is type "A" and other is "Type B". Their names maybe same so if the user sees those items in listbox then he won;t be able to determine their type until he click on them and checks out its properties. I wanted that I add each item to listbox and colour them so that blue for example means type "A" is there and red means the other. So this way I will be able to know at a glance that how many item of what type is present. I guess it may not be possible to do that in a standard checkedlistbox. I am also using component factory's krypton controls which enhance the gui of an application. But I dunno if I can progress using that.

Apr 8, 2010I have a supporting GridColumn Class that resides in the same class library project as my GridBox usercontrol.It is used in a list of GridColumns as a property.[code]In the Load event of my form I would like to use the .Add method of the List(Of GridColumn) to add columns to the usercontrol.[code]It will not work though because it cannot find the GridColumn class.If I use: "Imports <My Class Library Name>" it works, but I would like it to work without having to do so.Standard controls do this all the time.Am I putting the supporting class in the wrong place?Is there a modifier I that will expose the class when the usercontrol is dropped on a form?As a work around I created a method that adds a column but I would like to know in any case.

Jun 4, 2009It looks like the next version of our application is going to have to be multilingual. People may be using it in Israel, Singapore, Japan, and who knows what other places. Consequently we'll have to change our text in labels, on message boxes, etc. to match the language where the app is installed.I know, or at least I think, that there are features built into the .net framework that can assist with this, but where is a good place to look for documentation or guidance as to what to use and what sort of design considerations to address?

Nov 18, 2011I have a VB.NET/C# Visual Studio 2010 Solution with a bunch of projects that depend on about 30 third-party DLLs all from 1 vendor. This third-party vendor recently released a new version of their software so I would like to parallel test their new software and my enhancements until I am comfortable to switch over. What is the best way to setup a solution in Visual Studio 2010 so that I can use the code I have developed on top of these third-party DLLs and have the opportunity to easily switch between:
(1) the new version of the third-party DLLs [for my testing] and
(2) the old version of the third-party DLLs in case I need to debug some problem a user is having.Third party assemblies ARE NOT in GAC (they're currently in a folder on a network drive). They are NOT strongly signed (ran sn -vf ). They are changing from version 5.4.618.0 to 5.4.619.60.
Directory Items TO Listbox Items?
Mar 17, 2009I'm making an application that does some stuff involving the given subject, so this is very crucial to the completion and efficiency of my application.What I'm in need of today is simple (well, "seems" simple). I have one listbox that I want to populate with directories file's names. I don't mean the files inside the directories, but the names of the folders inside the directory.So, I have "c:empdog", I'd click on my button or whatever and search for the directory and I choose "temp", said listbox would show "dog".
UPDATE: Oh, BTW. It doesn't HAVE to be a listbox, it can be anything (IE: Textbox, Labels, Etc.).

Aug 21, 2009Why is this code having the opposite effect? If It's checked in the checkedlistbox it's not check in my view, if it's not check in my checkedlistbox it is checked in the grid.
EDIT: More specifically. The CheckState.Checked is always the opposite. .Checked means it's not checked.

I'm using a loop to do this but it always generates an exception anytime the loop's counter equals 2. Currently there are only three items in the former listbox. So you might ask why am I even separating them? It's strictly for others who will be working with this interface. I need to funnel them though a logical structure:
interface.Economic.MyMethod
interface.Currency.MyMethod
etc
This way everything is already handled for them in the background and they only need to run the method they need. I don't know if I can have it both ways in VB.NET.

Nov 14, 2009i want to add all items from my listbox into a database. the first item has to go into the first row of the table followed by the second item into the second row followed by the thir in that order. I have already created the connection with the database. I now want to write an insert query to insert the items into the table with the sql command in a loop but i don't know how to get each item from the listbox and add it to the insert statement.
