Make A Setup And Deployment Project In .net 2008?
Nov 25, 2009Is it possible to make a setup and deployment project in VB.net 2008, every site i have looked at on google says to just select it from the project list. It isnt in the project list for me to select.Are these types of projects not available in the express version?How can I make an installer, other than using one of the setup and deployment projects? (I know there is a publish button, but that doesn't make a proper installer and installs to the appdata folder which is not what i want it to do)

Oct 7, 2009I am trying to make a VB project for use on a touch screen so I require buttons that when pressed load a different image (the selected version of the image) ie. I know how to do this in HTML and CSS for use in web pages but am struggling to find out how to do it in VB.I have an image (looks like a button) that I want displayed in my form window and then when the image is clicked I want the image to swap for another image so to the user it looks like they are pressing a button.Now the standard windows button in VB (ie when you drag a "button" from the tool box) does this but I can not replicate this using my own images.

Jun 24, 2009I have a project, let's call it myproject and it's in the folder, myproject (VB2008>projects>myproject)
I want to eventually open this project and make some changes to it and the end result is that I will have a new piece of software.
So, here's what I do I copy the folder myproject to the desktop, rename it projectb and put back in the projects directory. (VB2008>projects>projectb)
Now, I can make any changes I want to the program and save to the projectb folder, BUT all of the entities (form, design view,settings etc) will still have the original name of myproject.* (and there's nothing you can do about it?) Is this the case? I don't see how you change the name of the "individual parts".

May 5, 2010For reasons that are beyond my control, I have three Projects. Projects A and B reference project C. Project A references project B so that it can open a large form in project B. I now need to open that large form from project C, but VB won't allow me to add a reference from C to B because that would create a circular dependency. I found a way around it, though. I created a Timer in A, and when I opened C from A, I passed in that timer. When the user performs a certain action, I enable the Timer from A, and this causes C to open B for me.

1- i add Project Setup Project for my Project for Visual Studio 2008 Deploy & setup Type Projects and make it with output option and detect dependices
2- i try make it with Setup Factory 8.2.1
3- i try with MSI Factory 2.0
4 i try with Setup Factory 6.0
and after making installer copying it to my test virtual Machine or my friend lap and install it i get this error when try to run my application :

Oct 21, 2010when I open my project in VS 2010 (File - Open Project - *.vbproj) my project loads just fine. I can run it just fine. But, when I change something -anything at all- and run the project, nothing is changed. I can even save, close and reopen the project with the new changes, but it still runs the old version.
For example: I open the project, with Form1 that has 3 buttons. I run the program and I get Form1 with 3 buttons. I stop running, add button 4 and hit play... I get Form1 with 3 buttons.I save the project, close it and open it again. My Form1 design shows 4 buttons. But when I start it, there are only 3 buttons...It must be something inside the project, cause this happens on 3 different PC's where I have VS 2010 installed.
