Nov 3, 2011Im still a bit newb to coding in Vb but Im trying to figure out how to make a simple inventory system for my video game. I need it to do a few simple things and Ive never made a inventory system before so im a bit lost on how to approach it.
Functions Needed:
Player has 40 pb that act as the visual inventory or display the item in that slot.

I set up my armor menu to allow drag an drop of the item but again not sure how to even get the inventory system created to finish the armor menu to allow the object to be dragged into its box and remove its self from the player inventory.I think I need to make a array for 39 or 40 in my adventurestorage class. That part Im pretty certain of but how do I set that part up? I have over 200 images that need to act as a item that can be dropped into the inventory.

If you want to make a simple 3 layer system (3tier is for a longtime complete misused by marketing from Microsoft, 3 tier needs something like a Unix computer) However, do this: start a Windows Form project, then do 2 times File -> Add New -> Project -> Class Library while you name one DataLayer and the other BusinessLayer. While the DataLayer project is selected, you do Add New Item and take the Component (give it the name DataBaseHandling). Then while that component is open. In top Data -> and than what you want to select, however create in fact the DataSet and Adapter in that.
Don't forget to set in your main project a reference using Poject -> Project too your two datalayers. It is easy and don't need all those images, those you will see pasing by doing this. Try to avoid to use your DataLayer in your BusinessLayer which is often done, because then those layers make in fact no sence. i am not an expert The bussiness and datalayer in the same solution really? I have downloaded both the GeckoFX package and the XULrunner package and unzipped them and placed the GeckoFX folder and the XULrunner folder in C drive.I have right clicked Choose Item in the toolbar and chosen the GeckoWebBrowser control to use in my form app.I know the path to the XULrunner runtime is C:xulrunner My browser only has the windows form with a text box, a button and the GeckoWebBrowser control.Now I need to set the call for the uxlrunner startup path where it needs to be. I have read that if I right click the project in Solution Explorer, I should see this option under properties.. but I do not see anyplace to do this

Jun 5, 2011I have found a simple UDP project at [URL] which is a project written in VB2003. I have imported it into VB2008 Express edition. I have no problems with the send part of the project. I'm able to send messages to internal (eg. 127.000.000.001) and external (in my case the other device has 192.168.0.100) addresses. Now for the receive part... I'm able to receive messagess sent form the same computer (127.000.000.001) but none of the packets are being received by the aplication if sent from an external source.

The idea is that each time I check or uncheck a row it re-calculates the values from subitems(2).

When they click on the email link, it should load the email xml iformation and place that info in the tb_html.text and navigate. I keep getting a null exception and im not sure what going on here. would like to ask a few question,
1) once i add new transaction, the invoice number will be auto increment and save all details into database table.
2) the invoice number cannot use again even after the transaction being canceled.
3) how to make the DO number and invoice number the same as per transaction done / undone.

Aug 31, 2008So ive looked everywhere but every example i find doesnt work on visual studio 05 and doesnt convert properly. I simply want to send info from one computer to another through direct connection. if anyone could point me in the right direction it would really be helpful. most stuff i find seems to be more complicated than what im looking for.
then just one other question. both computers will be going through a router. as long as i have the port im using forwarded on the hosts side, that shouldnt be a problem, right?

Jun 24, 2009I have a project, let's call it myproject and it's in the folder, myproject (VB2008>projects>myproject)
I want to eventually open this project and make some changes to it and the end result is that I will have a new piece of software.
So, here's what I do I copy the folder myproject to the desktop, rename it projectb and put back in the projects directory. (VB2008>projects>projectb)
Now, I can make any changes I want to the program and save to the projectb folder, BUT all of the entities (form, design view,settings etc) will still have the original name of myproject.* (and there's nothing you can do about it?) Is this the case? I don't see how you change the name of the "individual parts".
