I am trying to make a simple web browser in Visual Basic 2008 (with Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition) that uses the Gecko engine via a tool called GeckoFX and the XULrunner's dll's and resources.About GeckoFX - geckofx - Project Hosting on Google Code The book I am learning VB with hasn't covered this aspect yet but I almost have it all set up - this is just a side project I decided to play with because it looked really easy.

I have downloaded both the GeckoFX package and the XULrunner package and unzipped them and placed the GeckoFX folder and the XULrunner folder in C drive.I have right clicked Choose Item in the toolbar and chosen the GeckoWebBrowser control to use in my form app.I know the path to the XULrunner runtime is C:xulrunner My browser only has the windows form with a text box, a button and the GeckoWebBrowser control.Now I need to set the call for the uxlrunner startup path where it needs to be. I have read that if I right click the project in Solution Explorer, I should see this option under properties.. but I do not see anyplace to do this
Trying to make a simple browser with some simple addon's. What Ive done is setup a menu(forum) for the user to enter their email providers web address and it will save it in a xml file. When they click on the email link, it should load the email xml iformation and place that info in the tb_html.text and navigate. I keep getting a null exception and im not sure what going on here. I'm trying to make a simple character converter i.e. (A converts to O) or (C converts to V) I need to make defined parameters for the entire alphabet.I have two text boxes set up and a command button. I'm trying to make it so the text inputted into the first textbox is converted (using the defined parameters) Into the second textbox with a click of the button.

I have a (checked) listview with values in the subitems. I am trying to make a simple sum of the checked values, but I can't seem to get it to work. The values returned aren't correct.
The idea is that each time I check or uncheck a row it re-calculates the values from subitems(2).

Basically the items that are in the list box are loaded from a text file hidden in the installation directory so a manager (or such) will be able to edit which websites are navigate-able.Here comes the problem though, I have not been able to get it to work correctly it will not block any of the listbox items. I can't figure out how to make my web browser open links in a new page or tab instead of IE. I've tired at least a dozen different sets of code. None of them can be manipulated to fit my browser. When my browser first starts, there's an empty tab control. I put a new webbrowser in it at runtime and set it's dock to fill. I create new instances of the browser for new tabs as well. I just can't find how to make it open links in new windows.
I coded a web browser over the course of a year called Nova - very advanced with tabbed browsing, bookmarks, homepage, history, etc etc etc etc. I could go on all day about how advanced it is. But.. there is one flaw. You cannot make it the default browser; I don't know the code!I already know the CommandLineArgs stuff so it actually opens the HTML file rather than just opening the program; in fact, I already can make files open with Nova completely. It's just the other stuff - you know, when a website is to be opened from a help file or something, it opens with Nova, Windows recognises it as the default browser, stuff like that.

Hi, I need to program a simple Web Browser that can search for keywords and store relevant data in another file.I am facing a problem with authentication, mainly cookies and maintaining a session.So I read that Web Browser Control is based on I.E.? So may I know how are cookies and session handled?Do I have to implement them manually or are they stored and retrieved from the same folder as the one used in I.E? If so, if I delete the I.E.'s cache, am I also deleteing the cache of any Web Browser I make using Web Browser Control?
I would like for my program to navigate via textbox1.text with multiple lines and multiple url links inside of it. I know how to make the webbrowser1.navigate via textbox1.text with multiple lines, however I want my webbrowser to navigate to each url every 1-1.5 seconds once button1 is clicked. Yes, my webbrowser1 will navigate to the specified urls via the textbox1.text (multilines) with a button click, but I need the webbrowser1 to navigate in a order sequence from top to bottom of Textbox1.text (multiplelines) every 1 second. im making a web browser which is intertwind in a project, but i cant get the progress bar to display the current percent of a page that is loaded, i want to have 10 segments, each standing for 10% of the total page loaded. So say a page is loaded 67%, 6 out of 10 of the segments will be shown.
