I have a (checked) listview with values in the subitems. I am trying to make a simple sum of the checked values, but I can't seem to get it to work. The values returned aren't correct.
The idea is that each time I check or uncheck a row it re-calculates the values from subitems(2).

Is there a way to validate a groupbox with a couple radiobuttons in it to make sure that one of the radiobuttons is selected?
Heres why I need this. I need a user to be able to select their class rank out by way of radiobuttons in a groupbox. When they click submit, I need to validate that atleast one of the radiobuttons got selected and if not display a messagebox.

I have a form containing a checkedlistbox, I want to be able to do a simple comparison between the checked status before and after to see if there has been any change. I have a copy of the "before" version of the checkedlist box and I thought I could just compare the two CheckedItems but it always thinks they are different, I could iterate through the entire checkedlistbox but I thought there would be an easier way. I have downloaded both the GeckoFX package and the XULrunner package and unzipped them and placed the GeckoFX folder and the XULrunner folder in C drive.I have right clicked Choose Item in the toolbar and chosen the GeckoWebBrowser control to use in my form app.I know the path to the XULrunner runtime is C:xulrunner My browser only has the windows form with a text box, a button and the GeckoWebBrowser control.Now I need to set the call for the uxlrunner startup path where it needs to be. Trying to make a simple browser with some simple addon's. What Ive done is setup a menu(forum) for the user to enter their email providers web address and it will save it in a xml file. When they click on the email link, it should load the email xml iformation and place that info in the tb_html.text and navigate. I keep getting a null exception and im not sure what going on here. I have a form that creates a row of checkboxes depending on the type of analysis the user wants to perform on the incoming file. I need to be able to determine if the checkbox is "checked" but I don't know how to do that when the controls are created at runtime.So right now I have a loop going through all the controls on the form and selecting the appropriate case: for instance chkbox1, combobox1, etc. Now I can access the values of the control by using Me.Controls.Item(chkbox1) but after that the only thing resemebling checked is .Text which wouldn't be accurate. how do you workaround the .Checked property of a checkbox when it is created at runtime?

i know how to declare a simple array and intialises its values, but i dont know how to get its results out of it. let me explain what i want.i've basically made like a Quiz, so the array(s) needs to hold 20 questions and 20 anwers. and i ve put these separately in each array, i.e. i have 2 arrays one with questions and the other with answers.when the user of my program presses ' get a Quiz Question', they retrive a question. Then the user types in an answer and using the submit button sends the answer for it to be verifed. how do u make sure that the question has a coressponding answer to it. as ive sed i have 2 separate arrays, i dont know how tell vb that when a particular question appears that it has a corresponding answer. If it matches a positive message appears, i.e.good otherwise wrong will appear.Also i need to randomize the way the questions appear in the quiz so they dont follow the same order when they are seen for the second time?

For a final project in my VB Class, I am making BattleShip. I have all the coding done to place ships and guess others, but my ships are able to intersect. I am having a hard time thinking of how to stop this. I could make a procedure that checked if the xy position of one is near another, but that would only allow it to not intersect at the base point.
How might I get this to work with minimal code that doesn't allow the ships to intersect anywhere? (i.e. the middle of two pieces overlapping)
I am currently building a system in SQL Server 2005.
I have a table that holds information about certain insurance schemes such as overheads and other things. These values will change occasionally and currently I administer the database straight through the management Studio.
I would like to build a simple interface that will allow my colleagues to change these values by selecting the company in a dropdown and the current values will populate. They can then edit these values and submit them to the database.
Is this possible in the current Visual Studio supplied with SQL Server 2005 or do I need to get another product.
I want to make a check box change color when it is checked. In looking for answers it appears there used to be a fill color option in the properties, now in there is just back color and fore color. I am using VB 2008 Express.
