Make Text Editor Handle "Set As Default Program" Requests?
Jun 2, 2010
I was wondering how to make my Text Editor handle "Set As Default Program" requests, and have files saved default-ly open with it. For example creating my own file type.I don't know if this is possible in VB.net
Is it possible to make a program intercept and stop certain write requests? I need it to stop viruses from tampering with an antivirus database. If you can, how do you do it? If not, is there another way to stop viruses from changing the database?
I need to find a Windows forms Text edit which can handle MS Word documents correctly. That is documents with Images, textboxes etc (.doc, .docx).I have tried Devexpress Xtrarichedit and TXText Control but when you load a MS Word Document (.doc, .docx) the document does not appear as it does in MS Word. That is Textboxes overlapping images are misaligned or have no transparent background option, so the white background of the textbox hides part ot the image.Has anybody had experience with 3rd party Document .net editors which mamage MS Word Documents correctly?
How do I make the default modelbinding handle Lists?
Let's say I have a ShoppingCart class, which has a ShoppingCartItem List:
Public Class ShoppingCart Public Property CouponCode As String Public Property Items As New List(Of ShoppingCartItem) End Class
[Code]....
However, when I submit the page, no values are picked up, not even the CouponCode field. The model object is empty. What gives?
Ultimately, my goal is to add/remove items clientside via javascript and then have the modelbinder pick up the changes automatically when the page is submitted.
Update: I was just missing the Property keyword from my model properties declarations. It's too late, and I got to get some sleep. :)
I believe I need the code for Load Event. I have tried many ideas. I have searched the threads here and also google of course. No luck as of yet. Better description: I have a file named hello.txt. The contents of this text file are "hello". I use my program as the default for .txt files. I dbl click hello.txt. My program loads and the contents are blank and it should have "hello" in it.
I have a text box. and I want to make an editor for it. I want the editor to export a file that the text box will get reference.
Example:I put "Hello!" on my editor then I then it will export a file.now when When I open my program with the text box,The text box should also say "Hello!"
So essentially, I have this text editor. How can I make it so when I drop a text file over it, it opens it in textbox2? Or when I doubleclick on the file, it automatically opens it in my program (in textbox2).
I have AutoDragDrop enabled in my textbox. It drags the .jpg file into my program successfully. When I save it only saves the text not the .jpg file. I do realize that when I save the file I need to have the .jpg saved also and I am not sure how to accomplish this. I have checked multiple forums and googled of course. No luck as of yet.
i make a web browser program. how do i make default my web browser program? simple. if internet explorer is default, all web pages start automaticly with internet explorer. how do i make default my web browser program with VB code?
How do I make a program a default program for a file? As in if I had just a basic .txt file editor, I could make the program the default program for the extension .txt. I have tried just doing it in Default Programs, in Windows 7, and Windows XP. But when you click on the file it opens the program, but does not load the file. I plan on actually releasing the beta 2 a Office Suite I created.
How can I make my text box go to the enterd web address, through the user's default web browser?(And not by creating an actual web browser in the application..)
I don't have an example code, but recently figured out how to make a single sub handle the keydown event for multiple text boxes. What I would like to know is if it is simple enough to have the object name that is sending the event instead of "microsoft..text: 54654" (sender.ToString in a debug window) type of return. I don't know how to make use of that.
I have recently published a simple text editor(just as an exercise). the editor has been published using Microsoft Visual Basic Express. Once the program is installed i wanted to make it a default opener for .txt files, so i clicked openwith ->Choose default program and then i was asked to show the location of the .exe. It seems like the .exe of my installed program doesn't exist. where the .exe is on a windows7 or tell me of another way of makeing that program the default opener.
i did this much but something doesn't seem right...the question is A Visual Basic program that requests a positive integer as input, and carries out the following steps:If the number is even, divide it by 2.Otherwise, multiply the number by 3, and add 1 to the result. Repeat this process with the resulting number, and continue repeating until the number 1 is reached. After the number 1 is reached, displayed how many iterations were required to reach the number 1. (Hint: a number is even if number Mod 2 = 0.)
Private Sub btn_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btn.Click Dim num, multiply, divide As Double
(Write a program that requests a word containing the two letters r and n as input and determines which of the two letters appears first. If the word does not contain both of the letters, the program should so advise the user.)I got the program to work but he said its wrong because we need to have it looping and if one of the letters is missing you also have to say which one is missing.I have some of the pseudo code but I don't know how to make it work.If Index of("R") = 0 or index of ("N") = 0 Find out which is missing and display message.Else Find larger and display message.
Write a program that requests a name fomr the user and insert the name into the list in its proper location, if the name is already in the list, the name should not be inserted. --do not use any arrays or LINQ use only streamreader/streamwriter.What i've got is this...it will add the name but not in the "proper location". if i could use an array i'd just reorder the array and then write to file, but...
Imports System.IO Public Class Project_3a_p398 'Purpose: A program that requests a name from the user
I'm trying to compare something the user sends to a listview(first column) to see if it can find a match using [code] and if it equals true the program requests a password if its false it returns the noturous "failed to login"
I almost have this text editor/Stopwatch/Calculator program done. I am having mojor difficulties to get this code for Save and for Save As to work properly. I do not have code for save yet. When I click on Save I want it to save without popping up the dialog box. I do not have code for Save yet. When I click on Save As I want the popup box to show. Here is the code I have for Save As:
im trying to make a program in which if the textbox text and the listbox text are the same order, which they are in the picture, a bluie fonted text saying well done appears. However only the red text appears which is only meant to come when the order of the text in both listbox and textbox isnt the same.
Here is the code that i used for this:
listarrays = name of listbox textbox1 = name of textbox
l is the name of the label for correct answer(blue font)label3 is name of label with red font which should only appear for wrong answer
Dim text As String = Me.TextBox1.Text For Each item As Object In listarrays.Items If item.ToString = Me.TextBox1.Text Then
[code].....
use another textbox instead of the listbox but thats just making itmuch harder for me as I already made the full code working with the listbox. My lecturer told me i need to convert both in string so both textbox and listbox are compatible and i did so (see code above) but the correct label doesn't show?
How can i make something like an editor, lets say word editor, how can i get it to highlite wrong words? and color words like "thank you" or something? [code...]
