I'm wanting to make a program that translates binary code into numbers/letters and numbers/letters into binary code. I know the general system of binary code, but I dont know how to translate anything with VB.net. Is there a general command I need to use or can someone link me to a good tutorial about translating?

I got 2 textfiles "svenskaengelskaA.txt" and "engelskasvenskaA.txt"
Inside the program I got 2 textboxes and 1 button, If I write like "�pple" in TextBox1 I want it to write out "Apple" in TextBox2 when I press the button "Translate"..
But for the translate button to work it needs to read the 2 files..
I have to (for class) make a program that generates a safe passwords for people to use. My teacher wants us to make the passwords vary in length, include numbers, letters and upper case letters. I've been able to write code that prints out a random string but it includes unrecognized characters for most passwords. How would I write the code to create a random string that has parameters? (in this case upper case lower case letters and numbers).

View 2 RepliesIm trying to create a program that translates english to another language. i have no clue how to begin doing this, i have the program designed and all of the buttons besides the "Translate" button coded...it has 2 radio button to choose which way you are translating, (English to german, or German to english) the input is a textbox, and the output is a label. and its going to be nothing more than a "replace this word with that word" kind of program. Im also going to connect to a database where the list of words will be held.

im a student still learning and im stuck. im writing a program that returns the ip address, splits it in to parts, and now i need it to return a string of letters for other parts to use. EX.
ip address 127.0.0.1 will look like ABG.XXX.XXX.XXA

I have a button to click on my form that displays 2 message boxes, one saying " enter upper limit" and the other say "enter lower limit". Someone may think this is bruteforce hacking, but I don't see why I should do that? If I want to find a password on 13 characters, it would be: 62^13 = 200028539268669788905472 possibilities... in other words... it would take forever!
I am new to VB.Net and programming all together. I am trying to make a program that will take 2 numbers input by the user, Add them together and display the sum. Then take the sum and divide it individually by each number to give you what percent of the sum the numbers are. I am making the tough transition from VBA to VB and would be pleased to hear from a VB expert. I am trying to make a program to grab numbers from the screen so that I can log them to a text file. The numbers are part of a flash animation which is regularly updating the number I want to capture and as there is no API i am grabbing the region where the number is displayed into a bitmap and then want to recognise the number with OCR. To complicate things a little, each combination needs to be different, ie. randomised but still according to the 'letter,number, letter' formula. There are plenty of examples of randomising strings such as passwords but I cannot understand how to achieve the above.
