Merge Dataset - SQLServer And MSAccess Database ?

I have the same table in SQLServer and MSAccess database named "KHang" with fields : ID int identity(1,1) primary keys , MaKH char(4),TenKH varchar(50)
Here is my data :
MSAccess (" KHang" : Id-MaKH-TenKH)
1-KH01-tes
2-KH01-test
3-KH01-testing
SQLServer (" KHang" : Id-MaKH-TenKH)
1-KH02-testing1
2-KH02-testing2
I connect to MsAccess database using oledb in vb.net and fill data to DataSet1. So I want to update it to SQLServer database. I mean, the result will be like this:
SQLServer(table "KHang") :
(Id-MaKH-TenKH)
1-KH02-testing1
2-KH02-testing2
3 -KH01-tes
4 -KH01-test
5 -KH01-testing
How can I do it in vb.net?

I want to compress an ms access database using vb.net. If the database is open this fails. How can I close the database, compress it, then reopen the database using vb.net code to accomplish this. I've already successfully written the code for compression, but I can't find anything on closing the database while leaving ms access open.

I'm trying to use LINQ to SQL in Visual Basic 2010 Express.
It allows me to create the .dbml file, but in order to drag items from the Database Explorer window to the design surface, I first have to get my database listed in the Database Explorer!(this is a remote SQL Server database - not a local .mdf)
I already have a good, working connection string to the remote SQL Server database, but that doesn't help me when I'm trying to generate the DBML at design time.
Can anyone tell me how to get my remote SQL Server database identified in the Database Explorere window? When I try the "Add Connection", I am limited to Access, SQL Server Compact, or SQL Server Database File. If I try to enter the IP address & port of my DB Host I get a 'database file does not exist' message. Doesn't seem to want to let me point to a remote DB server...

im having difficulty trying to do mail merge with ms word with dataset. i've tried google to search and i can't find the right solution. with little knowledge in mail merge, i only managed to do this:

the code above will open the document file, merge with 1st record only. what i need is open the template document, but have multiple records. let me give a scenario, i need to print out 10 letters for 10 people, the information in the letter is exactly the same except the name and address. but this should only open 1 word document with multiple records in it, how can i achieve that? then i can print the letter for 10 times with different records.

I would like to perform a mail merge between VB.net 2005 and Word 2007 using a dataset from my application, so the user doesn't have to touch word they will just be presented with the mail merged data. I have a dataset (WW1Dataset) with one data table(WW1).(database used in an access database) I'm trying to filter the dataset e.g a user wants to filter by a chosen surname (SurnameTextBox.text) so the datset is filtered to display only those records wherethe surname column in the dataset matches SurnameTextBox.text.

I have the following set of code for a Sub program. It's inserting a row into a MSAccess Database using data provided in the containing form. What I would like to do is grab the ID number of this added record so that it can be set for a property of a window that is invoked when successfully added. I tried looking this up but I get something about @@IDENTITY but it's using an entirely different way of connecting.

I'd like to make a little vb.net program that executes searches on a msaccess database. I use a textbox to get the value to search and than i'd like to search all the values that has the textbox value in the middle. So, the queries should look like this: SELECT Rec1, Rec2, Rec3 FROM Table1 WHERE Rec1 LIKE "*" & txtTextBox.Text & "*"...My problem is that i don't know how to pass the "*" character to my query, if I build a string that i pass to OleDbCommand(), the query returns nothing.

I seem to have a major problem. when I add a typed dataset to my project and go back to my sql server and click on the databse I use it doesn't open. the tables and stuff just vanish. using the wizard, it creates this connectionstring:

It doesnt let me restore or anything. i tried restarting my pc incase the db was locked but it is still gone. now my app cant connect. Just for clarity, is user instance supposed to be set to true. and what is the purpose of it. also when the wizard asks to make a copy of the file that will be copied accross each time I run my project I select No.

I've created a VB.NET Windows Form application which pulls info from an MSAccess database via datasets and tableadapter. When the user makes a change to the data, I use the Update method of the tableadapter to send the changes back to the database. This all works fine in the Visual Studio 2008 IDE, but once the build is done and the application is installed, I run into problems. The application keeps the original data and will not read or write to the database, although any changes I make through the application are mysteriously saved somewhere. If I make changes directly to the database using MS Access - which I need to be able to do - those changes don't show up in the data pulled into the application.

I'm updating an app for children I wrote in VB6 to VB2010. It uses a rather extensive MSAccess Database. It works perfectly but I need to update it to utilize better speech technology. I have read a lot about SQL and can't find how it is useful for anything accept business applications that add, delete or update records as long as you hard code in a name. I don't use datagrids and I never display a table. how to do a few things, I can figure the rest out.
