Could Not Find Installable ISAM

Nov 14, 2011

I'm using vb.net 2003 and I want to read excel file 2003 using OleDb Connection. But I have a problem when I'm putting the IMEX=1 property on the connection String. But when I have to romove this IMEX property, the system run without an error. Here is my connection string

xlsCon = New OleDbConnection("Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" & pathName & " ; Extended Properties=Excel 8.0;IMEX=1")

I need to put IMEX property so that it tells the driver to always read intermixed (string, integer, date) data type on each cell.

Here is the error I've encountered.

System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: Could not find installable ISAM.

"Cannot Find Installable ISAM" Error

Jan 20, 2012

I keep getting a "Cannot find installable ISAM" error in my catch. And I've set up my connection string the same way that is in my signature "Let the user select the connection string." Here is the connection string being used(I did MsgBox(con.connectionstring)

Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source =C:Documents and SettingsPC #6My DocumentsVisual Studio 2010Projectsfajsdl;kfajsdl;klogin.mdb;Persist Security Info=False
Even if I hardcode the connection string, rather than using Dim con as New OledbConnection(My.Settings.login). I still get the ISAM error.

MS Access 2007 Error Inserting Record Into Table

Jun 22, 2010

[code] When insCommand.ExecuteNonQuery is executed, an exception with Error # -2147217900 is thrown, with the detail of "In order to evaluate an indexed property, the property must be qualified and the arguments must be explicitly supplied by the user." At the time the error is thrown, this is what resides in strInsert: "Insert Into ScoutInfo (ScoutID, YearID, GSUSAID, FName, LName, DoB, Grade, Level, School, YearsIn, CurrentYear) Values (10000, 20092010, 123456, 'Jacobina', 'Lowe', '11/30/2009', 'K', 'Daisy', 'Thisone', 0, '20092010')" I've already verified that the Insert statement and datatypes of the columns match.

Alarm In Access 2007 - Compilation Error: External Name Not Defined

Jul 25, 2011

I'm using access to replicate something that is very simple in excel. I have one "due date" column, and I want the cell right next to those cells to tell me if there are less than 15 days to that date. In excel is a simple conditional function, but I want to do it in Access because it looks better.I'm new to access and even though I've been reading some posts and forums I haven't been able to pull this out. I tried to program a macro with the following

Sub Alarma()
[Alarma] = IIf([Fecha de vencimiento] - 15 > Date(), " ", "Faltan menos de 15 das")

[code]....

It shows the following error -> Compilation error: External name not defined.

So, it's not reading the "Alarma" field... how do I define this field? It's inside a formulary, and Alarma is the title (I downloaded a template from the internet and changed the titles so I wouldn't have to do it from scratch...)

Visual Studio 2008 And Access 2007 Wizard Error?

Aug 17, 2010

I have a class project that supplied me with an Access 2007 DB. When in VB and go through the steps for creating a data source. When the Wizard comes up I click on Database, Next, New Connection, Data Source is Microsoft Access Dagabase File (OLE DB), Browse to Database File Name, Test Connection is successful, click on OK, then Next. A MSVS box appears "The connection selected uses a local data file that is not in the current project. "Would you lie to copy the file to your project and modify the connection?"I am supposed to click NO. When I do I get this "Wizard Form" "An unexpected error has occurred. Error Message: Cound not load type." I need to be able to go to the next part of the Configuration Wizard that says "Choose Your Database Objects" I evensaved the file as Access 2003, and it will not work.

.net - Access A Accdb File (MS Access 2007) From Resources?

May 27, 2011

I am writing a very simple program that connects to a accdb file (Microsoft Access 2007 file) and returns some results in a datagridview. Everything is fine. Now because we have to deploy this program in many computers i publish it so everyone we want can install it and have updates. What i wanted to do is to make the database file part of the program which i did it by adding it to the resources. My problem is that i do not know what connection string to enter in order to access it in my resources.
My previous connectionstring before i deploy it was this

ConnectionString = "Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=C:l.accdb;Persist Security Info=True

What should i change in the data source in order to access the same file in my resources?
