Jan 15, 2010
I am using MS Access -2007 on windows server -2003. on my one of the query I get "Internal OLE automation error" after it runs. It shows data for a moment then data gets deleted from query when I hit OK button on Internal OLE automation error.
SELECT Qry_SNew.*, IIf([Qry_SNew].[Score1]>3.5,99.9663, IIf([Qry_SNew].[Score1] < -3.5 , 0.03369,[Tbl_percent].[Percentile])) AS Percentile1
FROM Qry_SNew LEFT JOIN Tbl_percent ON Qry_SNew.Score1 = [Tbl_percent].score;

I have a program in VB.NET 2005. At some point I have to open an Access2003-Application for getting data in it. I do that by pretending my program is a human user and let it do all the work in Access as a human user would do. Filling Fields, pressing buttons etc. I use the Primary Interop Assemblies for that. So far so good. That code is in use for over half a year now. In the last week I got Office 2007 installed on my machine. Of course I tested the installed version of my program if everthing still works. Every test was succesfull. But if I do the same tests in Visual Studio it always crashes.
All I get is this Errormessage: {"Das COM-Objekt des Typs "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.FormClass" kann nicht in den Schnittstellentyp "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access._Form3" umgewandelt werden. Dieser Vorgang konnte nicht durchgefhrt werden, da der QueryInterface-Aufruf an die COM-Komponente fr die Schnittstelle mit der IID "{66B22FB4-F70E-4F03-A00A-F76E9ADBBF10}" aufgrund des folgenden Fehlers nicht durchgefhrt werden konnte: Schnittstelle nicht untersttzt (Ausnahme von HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE))."}
For all who can't read german:
"Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.FormClass" can't be converted in to "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access._Form3" ... Interface is not supported.
Code I use:
Dim access As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.Application = Nothing
.
.
.
access = New Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.Application()
[CODE]...
The Error occurs when I try to access any property of "access.Forms("frmTest")"

[code] When insCommand.ExecuteNonQuery is executed, an exception with Error # -2147217900 is thrown, with the detail of "In order to evaluate an indexed property, the property must be qualified and the arguments must be explicitly supplied by the user." At the time the error is thrown, this is what resides in strInsert: "Insert Into ScoutInfo (ScoutID, YearID, GSUSAID, FName, LName, DoB, Grade, Level, School, YearsIn, CurrentYear) Values (10000, 20092010, 123456, 'Jacobina', 'Lowe', '11/30/2009', 'K', 'Daisy', 'Thisone', 0, '20092010')" I've already verified that the Insert statement and datatypes of the columns match.

I'm using access to replicate something that is very simple in excel. I have one "due date" column, and I want the cell right next to those cells to tell me if there are less than 15 days to that date. In excel is a simple conditional function, but I want to do it in Access because it looks better.I'm new to access and even though I've been reading some posts and forums I haven't been able to pull this out. I tried to program a macro with the following
Sub Alarma()
[Alarma] = IIf([Fecha de vencimiento] - 15 > Date(), " ", "Faltan menos de 15 das")
[code]....
It shows the following error -> Compilation error: External name not defined.
So, it's not reading the "Alarma" field... how do I define this field? It's inside a formulary, and Alarma is the title (I downloaded a template from the internet and changed the titles so I wouldn't have to do it from scratch...)

I have a class project that supplied me with an Access 2007 DB. When in VB and go through the steps for creating a data source. When the Wizard comes up I click on Database, Next, New Connection, Data Source is Microsoft Access Dagabase File (OLE DB), Browse to Database File Name, Test Connection is successful, click on OK, then Next. A MSVS box appears "The connection selected uses a local data file that is not in the current project. "Would you lie to copy the file to your project and modify the connection?"I am supposed to click NO. When I do I get this "Wizard Form" "An unexpected error has occurred. Error Message: Cound not load type." I need to be able to go to the next part of the Configuration Wizard that says "Choose Your Database Objects" I evensaved the file as Access 2003, and it will not work.

I have built an Access 2007 database with some data stored in it. I have managed to export data using VB2008 from that database to Excel 2007 and have it automatically draw charts based on this data and a query in the Visual Basic Code. One of the results looks like this:

I am creating new documents from templates and then saving them as docx files.My understanding is that when I go to my saveas method I should be able to have the wdFormatXMLDocument as one of my fileformat options.However I don't.I have to use the numerical equivalent of 12.I have imported the Word 2007 interop and have all the methods at my fingertips there, but can't seem to find this particular option.

I have both Excel 2003 and Excel 2007 installed on my system. When I call oExcel = CreateObject("Excel.Application"), Excel 2003 is used in the context in my .NET code instead of Excel 2007 (which I need to be used). I have referenced the "Microsoft Excel 12.0 Object Library" but when the code runs, the 11.0 version is used.
Is it because I am using Visual Studio .Net 2003 that Excel 2007 cannot be correctly referenced or do I need to change a reference or setting?

I used the code previously added by Mike Rosenblum but Excel is still not closing, Here is my code:

xlbook1.Application.Visible = True
xlbook1.Windows(1).Visible = True
xlbook1.Application.WindowState = Excel.XlWindowState.xlMinimized

I've managed to work out how to read EXCEL cells via static values. Ideally I would like my application to check the third column of the EXCEL sheet and if there are no entries on a given row, it should display the coresponding row of colums 1 and 2...for example if (C,3) contains no entry then get values of (A,3) and (B,3)...then mark (C,3) as pending by writing a value to (C,3). Here is my code at the moment

I have an application that browses through Excel-files, changes color in some cells if they are in a wrong format etc.When my application is saving the changed file I get this alert about compatibility issues that can occur, and this alertbox has to be agreed or cancelled to move on to the next file. How can I disable this compatibility check programmatically? Or is there any way to ensure there are only Excel 2003 compatible colors in the document before saving?

I have an issue which has successfully busted my head all weekend. I created a COMAdd-in, in VB.NET (VS 2008) for Excel 2003. We now need to work the solution out for 2007 and since the layout and objects are a little different we had to make some critical Interface changes.Instead of a floating CommandBar we are now going with RibbonBar, which looks good but it doesn't work. Whenever I open Excel Workbook (which is the primary application). The Add-in successfully recognizes it and opens it up properly (bunch of Macro calls, layout settings etc). Anyway, after it opens, if I click on any button (on the new ribbon tab) I get "Application not properly initialize. Program will now close" and excel object is lost.

I have used Visual Studio 2008 (VB) to create a custom tab and button group with custom buttons. When any of those buttons are clicked, I simply want to run a macro (add-in) that will already be loaded when Excel is launched. The main examples I've seen create an Excel object in the VB code and then call the macro, but that seems like unnecessary overhead, since the custom buttons are are already loaded into Excel.

This error first appear to occur randomly. Steps to recreate:Open Visual Studio and load a solution (some files automatically opened) - this is when the problem occurs Close all open files Restart visual studio and load solution (no issues)Open Exactly the same files again, restart visual studio and load solution so files open automatically (problem occurs!)
However, when trying to narrow it down to a single file (that is automatically opened when the solution is loaded), I couldn't reproduce the problem. Now with all the files open again the problem doesn't occur!!! So it looks like it is fixed - though this happened before and eventually the issue came back.
I think it is to do with one of the user controls with DevExpress controls on it - when the error occurs, the designer displays the error. Though I can't reproduce it at the moment to confirm that.

I am building a permissions system in vb.net against the normal Windows Server file system. Have not decided on the best method, but is there a way to get access to some kind of internal GUID that Windows might store for a folder. If I just store the path for security, then it quickly becomes very hard to update a database storing path information to get security information. If a folder had some kind of internal GUID structure that would be great. Is this available?

I'm trying to connect to a remote server (from our customer) via HttpWebRequest.GetResponse but at the login page i'm always getting an exception: "The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error." In the response stream i see that i was redirected to the error-page. The code worked so far(HTTP status 200) with the old ASP-website but they'll migrate to ASP.NET soon. There's no error if i browse to the URL manually. This is the (reduced) code:
