part 2 of 2: i was just wondering, is anyone else experiencing problems with their webbrowser, as in not displaying the right side links properly, and the reply, always sends you to an off screen, with no edit options, or being able to insert code in. this is currently happening in my firefox browser, although the i.e.8 has no problems... just want to know, to see if maybe it is a bug with my firefox, or they are again, updating the forum.

I have built a class diagram for a proram i am building in vb, and i need some help to enhance it.The program description:"Modeling Car Parking System Modeling Car Parking System (MCPS) is the software that manages a parking for cars. The dedicated employees in that parking will use this system to control the parking. This software will facilitate the work in the parking and covers most activities performed, such as booking, cashing, and organizing. In the following, we will provide a comprehensive description of the parking (the scope of the system) followed by a description of the system with the functions that will be performed.
The Parking (The scope of the system)The parking consists of two floors, with a capacity of three hundred car places, and opens 24 hours all the week�s days. It has two main control stations; one is located at the entrance gate, and managed by an employee whose main functions are entering data to the system, then providing a receipt to the driver, and the other is located at the exit gate (cashier station), managed by an employee whose main functions are checking the receipt, entering data to the system, cashing, and providing an invoice.
The parking has three barriers, two main barriers are placed at the entrance and exit gates, and the third one is located at the second floor�s gate. They are controlled by using a remote control.When a driver wants to park his car, he has to drive it to the entrance where an employee (receptionist) will enter the car plate number to the system, then prints out a receipt to the driver. This receipt will contain information such as, the car plate number and the entry time. After that, the receptionist will open the barrier to allow the car enters the parking.
Inside the parking, the second floor will be kept empty (closed by the barrier) until the first floor will be full. When the first floor becomes full, the employee will open the barrier to allow the cars to park in the second floor. A driver can park his car in any vacant place in the available floor.When a driver wants to leave the parking, he drives his car to the exit gate and presents the receipt to the employee in the cashier station, who in turn, will check if the number recorded in this receipt (at the entrance) is similar to the real plate number of the car. After that, the employee will enter that number to the system, take the money, provide an invoice to the driver, and finally, open the barrier to allow the car leaves the parking.The list price in the parking, declares that parking a car for an hour costs 3850 LBP, and each extra parking hour will cost 3000 LBP.
Description of the System :The system will operate 24 hours, and will perform the tasks related to the work in the parking. The following scenario will explain what we mean by �will perform the tasks� in the parking.
At the entrance gate, the employee will enter the car plate number to the system as a (driver ID), and select the available floor which is in service from a menu. The system, in its turn, will store these data and additional data such as the time entered, and then issues a receipt including information such as driver ID, entry time, date, and the available floor reference.
At the exit gate, the employee will enter the car plate number (driver ID) to the system which will generate the data related to it, and prints out an invoice including the current time, date, total parking time, and the total amount of money (parking fee); since the parking fee and the duration will automatically be calculated and displayed by the system.
In addition to the tasks which the system will achieve at the entrance and exit gates, it also will provide statistical information such as the total count of cars that exist in the parking at any time, and the number of the vacant or busy parking lots (car places) in each available floor. Also, the simulation which will be part of the system will play a role in managing the parking since it will show an up to date comprehensive scheme of the parking.
The graphical simulation of the car movement flow When a car will enter the parking, and after an employee has implemented all the tasks associated by the entrance such as entering the car plate number, and selecting the available floor, the system will issue a receipt and automatically will lead the user (employee) to the simulation part. The simulation part is a form that contains cars and parking lots as graphical components, when a user click such a button �Drive-in a car� a car will move to occupy an available empty parking lot.
When a car will exit the parking, and after an employee has implemented all the tasks associated by the exit gate such as entering the car plate number, the system will issue a receipt and automatically will lead the user (an employee) again to the simulation part. When a user clicks such a button �Drive-out a car�, the car will leave to parking lot was occupied.

I have created an application that has a webbrowser, two radioButtons, button1, and a menustrip.The menustrip has two main heading and under each heading are about 15 Tool Strip MenuItem. The ToolStripMenuItem properties are set to CheckonClick and an example of forum1. vb code for this section of the application is:[code]What I need is for the user to be able to add his/her own ToolStripMenueItems to those already present, along with the base url.So that clicking Button1 sends them to the base url And also have the Radio Buttons automatically add the extensions to the base url when the RadioButton is clicked.They need to be able to do this from the application itself.But I'm not sure how to code this in.They will not have VB to make modifications.

I am using a Webbrowser in my program.

I'm trying to get the value part from the source and have it printed out to a TextBox on my program. I'm not sure how to do this but I tried. I made a new HtmlElement called email. Then I did email = WebBrowser1.Document.All.Item("email") However, when I try to add it to my textbox it doesn't work.

I stumbled upon something i don't quite see the logic of. Let's ork with following piece of code:
For Each ds As DerivedScale In List
If ds.ScaleID = scaleId Then
ds.ScaleID = ds.ScaleID + scaleStep

This piece is written for 2 records to change place and change the sequence number (scaleid). The arrow indicates where the issue occurs. The item "ds" is replaced by the object 1 indexnumber higher/lower. This does however not effect that object in the List. So when i check, item ds isn't set.
However, when i look at ds.ScaleId = ds.ScaleID + scaleStep, this is reflected in the List.
So what I am wondering is: is "ds" acting like a local variable here, and can i only make changes to it's properties?

I have a bit of a strange problem with MySQL that I've never seen before. Basically, I need to enter the same entry into a table x number of times. The Primary Key is auto increment so there shouldn't be any duplicate value problems. However, it takes the last few columns and seems to clump them all into one value and is using that as a key. The error I'm getting back is:Duplicate entry '80-0--2011-06-16-0-1' for key 'idx_mtind you, there is no field called idx_mt. The primary key field is called just ID. And that 80-0--2011-06-16-0-1 is the last 8 columns or so (which you can see the names of in the cols variable) concatenated, which they obviously shouldn't be doing. Also, the first time the loop runs through, the entry goes through, but the later ones conflict with it. I confirmed that this is the problem by changing one of the last 8 columns to a value based on a loop, and that went through with no problems.

I have a dataset associated with my form and have a custom query written for one of my tables that is supposed to get two fields in the database and order them by their ID in descending order. However, when I run the program, the bound controls do not contain the last record, but the first.

I'm trying to add items to the listview, but ever time i add a icon the Listview freezeslinks a white color for a millisecond.A millisecond is not a lot, but when you add 5 items per second to the listview then all you see is a white shade blinking. I tried slowing the thread down so it takes longer for it add the items still no luck.

I have a software under contruction for a small firm. And it requires email functionality. That is, whenever the users in the main database reaches the payment date, an email will be send to that user as a reminder.Or, in certain period, the admin needs to send a notification mail to all the users in the main database.
So, how can I incorporate that facility in my main app ?My present idea is to create a separate app for send the mails. That is, when the admin compose the mail and selects a bunch of users (as recipients) from the database, all the message will be saved to another database (for mailing application) and will start the mailing app. This mailing app will check it's database for any pending emails to be sent, and if there exists any pending mails, it will start sending one by one. After sending each mail, it will remove that from the database.
What's your idea ? Does it sounds ok to you I don't want the user of my main app to know that there exist another program, running in background, sending emails.

im making an application in vb.net (duh!) anyway i have created and coded the whole project and it performs exactly as i want it to (i dont need code help). my problem lies with the fact that my project is 2-3 parts
1.a setup form that gathers inital data about the enviroment stores this data encrypted in a config file. after inital setup this form is not displayed again. but needs to be run on both computers
2. the second form is the real application form im in the process of turning this part in to a background service anyway this form is the one that establishes the connection between two nodes it works correctly
3. the config files
anyway here is my problem i want to make this application distributional with just one file the (.exe) and have this .exe make everything else happen. it runs the setup form and creates the first config file which it does then it needs to produce a copy of just the second form and the config file to transfer to workstation #2 that will run independtly without the whole application which i cant make happen then it needs to turn both workstations application on by only starting one on either computer and invoke the other computer to start its corrosponding app also no idea how to make this happen any ideas or suggestions as to where to look to try to find my answers.im thinking i might need to make two seperate applications (a setup app, and the running app) and include them both in a project and use the setup.exe to to package them together this is a little side project that im making for my self to use to make programming a little easier so i plan on giving it out to some fellow students to test and tell me what they think so im not really worried about ease of use or complicated procedures yet but if it turns out to work and actually be of use to anyone else i would be willing to rewrite it to distribute to the masses but for now i just want it to work for me.

I'm having some difficulties chopping up a word document. I think the problem may be that it's 900+ pages, but I'm not completely sure.The separate documents within the document file are separated by x of 100 documents. I'm trying to split at the "of 100 documents", however when I try to split the string that I put this word document's contents into, it will only split with the first letter I give. So, when I try to split it by "of 100 documents", it will only split by "o".

I created a simple custom controlled Panel for double buffering. When I use the control in my toolbox it works just fine, but when I attempt to add controls inside the panel those controls aren't staying when I move the panel around. My custom panel isn't acting as the controls' parent. I verified this by looking in the designer code.
I tested a standard panel on the same form and it works perfectly normal - as I drag the parent Panel the interior controls move along with it. It is only my custom Panel which doesn't seem to detect when another control is placed within it.

Am devloping an application with multiple forms, which reside on top of a main form. i.e the main application window. The 'child' forms do not need to be linked in any way as they do not pass information to the parent form, as all the parent form does is act as main window.Now I would like to know what is the correct way for the 'main window' form acting as a container for the other forms? So that all the smaller secondary forms stay focused on top of the main application form, that when the main window is minimized, so these forms should do also etc..
I have read other posts and they mention, leaving all the forms standard i.e. IsMdiContainer = False and then using form.showDialog() to call the secondary forms. This did not work for me as what happens is that as soon as I give focus to the main app form, the secondary form disappears underneath.I tired making the main app form IsMdiContainer = True and when it loads calling:
frmMemberForm.MdiParent = Me
Now this works, because I can click off the form and minimize the app etc and the frmMemberForm doesn't disappear. However if i close the MemberForm and reopen it, it looses this property and once again when it looses focus, it will disappear.

i was wondering if it possible to have a condition where lets say you have a column in the datatable called amount and a textbox acting as the filter called say maxamount to set it so the rowfilter when filtering the table will sum the number in the amount column until the number in maxamount is met, then stop and only return the rows where the total sum of the amount column is equal or less than the maxamount value, so i guess if the next row takes us over the maxamount it discards this row and returns the rows previous to it. is this possible using datagridview rowfilter or should i be loooking elsewhere to achieve this?

I am attempting to figure out why this code is not working in VB2005.I am trying to run a check on a set of 25 buttons in a 5 by 5 square. they are label "cmd" & X & "x" & Y whereas X and Y are the x,y coordinates.cmd1x1 through cmd5x5 I am trying for this code to set varMapBefore() to either 0(for D) or 1 (for L) for each of the buttons cmd1x1 through cmd5x5 and then join them together at the end for an output.but varMap wont act like an object. One number is represented with four hex values.First two hex parts are my "whole number" part, third and fouth hex numbers are my "decimal" part. I just wanted to store my complete number (whole and decimal) in an excel table.My problem is following when I am storing whole part and decimal part of my number separately, then it works fine am getting f.e. 3017 and 0,9445123 in my excel table, but when I am concatenate them, then I am getting following expression in my excel table f.e. 30,179,445,123 but I want 3017,9445123.

I am writing a few web based apps which will require a webbrowser extension. I have already used the IE webbrowser control that uses the trident web rendering engine. I believe this is MSHTML.DLL? Anyway, some of the users of my programs have complained of a few things. Particularily,
1. It seems to be a slow browser, at least compared to other rendering engines out there (webkit and gecko are 2 known ones).
2. On the developer side, it seems to be low in features. The features are sufficient in most cases, but there are some "special" things that I need.
3. It has VERY low HTML (and especially HTML5) compliance.
My question is, how much work would it take to use a different engine (such as webkit .net, which I HAVE heard of) and be able to distribute it easily. Or, if you guys feel ambitious, we could try writing a brand new engine ourselves. I know how big of a job it is, and frankly, I have no clue where to begin. I would just like your thoughts and opinions on the matter.

I am utilizing a webbrowser control in vb.net 2005 to display excel workbooks
We are using this control to open excel documents. Webbrowser.ShowSaveAsDialog() allows the user to save the excel workbook open at any location he wants
However, I don't want the user to decide where to save. Is there any way to save an excel document from the webbrowser control without going through the ShowSaveAsDialog?
On closing of webbrowser, a simple prompt to user whether he/she would like to save changes should be fine enough
As of now, I can close webbrowser control and it does not prompt the user to save the changes. Actually, all changes are lost until and unless I perform a save (Ctrl+S) manually

i have created an app to load an access database into a datagridview, which contains web urls. When button is clicked it webbrowser1 navigates to each url and each webpages document.inertext is put into textbox. This all work fine but after a while the webbrowser navigation becomes increasingly slower.
