am trying to replace a image in a picturebox with a new image. I am getting the warning that the file is open (locked). It works a few times and it bomb's out with the warning. How can i unlock the file? I am disposing the current image and setting it to Nothing. [Code]
I have a Picturebox and a two Buttons on my Form. On click of one of the buttons I want to change the image in the picture box at runtime.
This works fine when I give the location of the image (the full path ) on my computer - but then of course it will not work if I use the solution on a different computer .
So I have made a folder named "Pics" inside my application and added two images into it.
How do I get to this local folder in the following code?
Picturebox1.image = system.drawing.image.fromfile (??? ) instead of the usual, Picturebox1.image = system.drawing.image.fromfile ("C:UsersMyName My PicturesMyPicture.jpg" )
Code: Private Sub cmdNext_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles cmdNext.Click Dim strURL As String
[Code]....
Am I doing this correctly so far? I need to "collect" the address/URL of the picture that is currently displayed in the picturebox (pbxFile), then load the next picture in the folder into the picturebox.
I have put folders in my resources folder and I am trying to load the pictures when the user presses the right arrow key. The code I am using is: picCharacter.Image = Image.FromFile("ResourcesRight MovementRight-01.png") What do I put in front of the "Resources.." that would make it load it from the projects folder?
I have a picture box which reads in an image from a folder to display, instead of having the usual boring image I thought it may be nice to have a number of images in the folder and let my vb.net program randomly pick one out to use.
i want a random image from just a part of the resource folder to be shown in a picturebox . i have this code but it for the hole of the resource folder
Dim prng As New Random 'should be in namespace 'get list of all resources Dim rs As System.Resources.ResourceSet = [code]......
I have a small databse program that retrives data from a csv file and he user can select different records based on a combobox selection. Now i want to be abeto display a picture for the record selected that is stored in the same folder as the csv file
Example: c:mydocumentsmydatafolderdatafile1
My program makes a connection to Datafile1 and within each record is a number example: 1234, 5678 etc.... Pictures are in the mydatafolder and have same name as the data record number
So record 1234 will have a picture called 1234
so i need my picturebox to get its image from the folder and match the file name based on the selected record If I am on the right track something like this PictureBox1.Image = Image.FromFile("C:WINNTSanta Fe Stucco.bmp")
However I need the file folder location to be based on what folder user selcted and the file name to be the name (number that is in record of database)
So if user is getting data from c:myfolderdatafolderdatafile3 and has selected record number 1234
The picturebox will get it image from the C:myfolderdatafolder and the file name will be the record number selected in this case 1234
what im trying to do and what i have done so far is probably a little backwards not sure sure how to id it any other way.when the user generates an error because a particular file doenst exist ive got my dialoge box to generate an .txt file for each file it errors on, so that the administrator can check and update missing files as an when - shouldnt be many files missing in the first place, should just be new product ranges or item just launched.what im stuck on is:
1. is there a better way
2. how do i open a .txt file and add the extra lines to it, so i re use the file but keeping the previous data.
I am using Vb 2008 Express edition. I have created an image with line on the picturebox. Here is my
Private Sub PictureBox2_Paint(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.PaintEventArgs) Handles PictureBox2.Paint Dim blackPen As New Pen(Color.Black, 2)
Im trying to save the image from my picturebox to a file. Ultimately im looking to use a save file dialog but im just testing at this point. Im working with the following line of code.
I currently have 4 images that I need to load into a picture box at different times, it works fine for me but if I send it to a friend it wont work because the file path is different. I use this at the moment:
If filmType = "Jumper" Then img = "E:TheatreBookinginimages" picFilms.Load(img) lblFilmInfo.Text = ("A genetic anomaly allows a young man to teleport himself anywhere.") lblFilmInfoTwo.Text = ("This gift leads him into a war that has existed for centuries.") End If

I am trying to make it so if a button is pushed then it will take you to a file browser where you can select a image. after you select an image and click ok then it will upload the image to a picture box. Is there any way to do this with the folderbrowser dialog?
Currently I'm using a picturebox object in a program which is referenced to a location on my local computer ie "PictureBox.image = Image.FromFile("c:/image.jpg")". I would like the image packaged in the .exe rather than using the file's extension. So if the exe is copied to another computer it will display fine. How can I do this? I was able to do this is the drag and drog editor by importing an image rather than specifying a location, but for my purposes I'd like it done programmatically.
I would like to place the code below in a click event for a button to open a word file. I have added the document (group2.doc) to the Application folder of the target machine in my setup project. how do I write a dynamic file path that will open the file?
