Printing Without Use A Reportviewer But Not Getting Data?
Feb 3, 2011I can get my code to print really pretty headings and report names but nothing beyond that. I should have 46 lines of data in my report and I have none.

Jan 9, 2009I've written the app involving the ReportViewer, and I'm using .rdlc reports. I have a range of A4 portrait and landscape reports which print fine when I run the app locally, and print locally, but they don't seem to want to print properly when the app is executed remotely.When I say remotely, its installed on a server which my client accesses using Remote Desktop Connection.As a company policy, we have to have our clients install a universal printer driver on any PC that needs to print anything created on the remote connection, and this works ok for everything except my landscape reports printed from the ReportViewer. Portrait reports are fine. Landscape reports are processed, but the page usually comes out on the local printer with all its text missing. A logo I have on the report prints fine, and if I choose a different printer, I get a slight variation - I get some text, not all, and still get the logo, etc.
As a temporary measure, I've written software to allow my client to print their reports without having to view them, and they're ok (they're converted to an image file, and sent to the printer that way). I've also written code so that they can email the reports to themselves, so this converts the report to PDF, and sends it. In EMF and PDF format,everything looks great! Its printing from the ReportViewer that is the problem

Jan 19, 2011I have a ReportViewer showing a report that is bound to a dataset. The dataset gets its data from a Access database backend. I have a separate form that allows the user to add/update/delete data. My problem is when the user makes changes to the data using the data entry form, the report does not reflect those changes. Printing Data In Express 2010
Aug 2, 2010I'm trying to print from VB Express but it seems to be so difficult. I tried the printform component only to see the end result being blurred. I have data in one table (which will be used as the header) and data in another table (the body) which I need to print out. Seeing that the express edition does not have any reporting capabilities, I turned to several other open-source projects providing "free" reporting tools, such as MyNeoReport. MyNeoReport is acclaimed to be so good but the developer lacks a detailed tutorial for it. And the tutorial's I did manage to find are all in C#. Not helping.
How do I go about printing the data? The design is simple. Extract the company information from table A to display as the header, extract the body from table B to display as the results. I also need to calculate the totals of the body and add it to the footer or bottom of the report body. I can't seem to find any relating forums or questions similar to mine on any forum. Currently on the form, I've got a few labels, textboxes and a listview. I know I need to load the filtered data into a data grid at some point.
Is it possible to give me a detailed example of how to do this? I'm really frustrated with this whole printing thing. I don't have the finances to buy these other reporting products and the one's claimed to be free all comes with a price-tag in the small print.

Also i am using Crystal Reports for Report solution. my question is How do i created reports such a way that they can be printed in faster Ascii Format on any DotMatrix printer. The default true type fonts make printing very slower.
I tried to use "Draft 10 cpi" font which come to available me after i installed a correct driver for my Epson printer. which also helped me overcome this problem. however it wont be the scenario with all my clients i.e. they might have different printers having different Make with different drivers installed. i have tried to open such project on there PC but the printing wont come in Draft instead the fonts get expanded too much & the print wont come right.

Apr 11, 2012Can you look at my coding and let me know what I'm missing or doing wrong?I have a SSRS report that is called from a ReportViewer control and the ProcessingMode for this control is Remote. The report also has 1 parameter in it's DataSet.In the code I placed a MsgBox to make sure the code is finding the parameter and returning the parameter name. I am trying to stick the value of 10 into the parameter for playerID 10. Data for this player does exist.
I believe I need to add some more code to make this work but I'm not sure what else to add.
When the code executes the report is displayed but no data is shown in the report.

I use a timer which checks if there is any file to be printed on my database. Example, the timer ticks and selected 10 files to be printed, it should print the 10 files 1 at a time, if there's no print queue, that's the only time the next file should print. I think another timer is required which will keeps on checking if print queue is done. How will i do this?

When I print the output to a PDF file using PDFCreator, it stacks all of the letters onto each other rather than creating new lines at the places I've specified. I've also tried using vbNewLine instead of vbCrLf, but I haven't had any luck. I searched the web for this but couldn't find anything about it.

Aug 5, 2009ReportViewer is a component I use frequently. Imagine my surprise in VS2010 when I find that a project MUST use the 4.0 framework choice or the toolbox will not display the component. I am trying to use a 2.0 project for compatability reasons. No matter how I try to reference the WinReportViewer it will not work unless I update the project for 4.0 framework.MS, I don't understand what this means for upgrade path for old projects being opened in VS2010. We are a VS2008 shop and it would be horrible to upgrade a bunch of projects to 2010 only to find that ReportViewer is no longer supported by 2.0 framework.
