Nov 26, 2011i have a treeview which has a bunch of parent and child nodes preset at design time, there is 1 parent node tho which is called developer, that i want to add child nodes to at runtime.When the form first loads im trying to have it check a text file and for each line in the text file add the text/string from that as a child node tot he 'developer' parent node.

Nov 17, 2011I have a MenuStrip with File > New, Open, Save, Exit located in a parent form, and a RichTextBox located in a child form.The problem I'm running into is concerned with the destination of the file elected from "Open" and the save.When a user selects their file from "Open", I need it to open the child form and put the text into the RichTextBox.I also need the program to be able to "Save" from a child form, whether it's been brought up via "New" or "Open".

The problem is that I need to close Word or Visual Studio in order to save the file, or compile the code, because each one reserves the file permission rights. The html file is only written by word, and only read from VS. At compile time, the file is copied to execution directory. Is there a way to give both programs simultaneous permission rights?

Jan 16, 2009I'm currently in the process of building a text editor type program, and have run into a brick wall. I haven't done VB in years, so I may just need a little reminder on some things. I have coded everything so far as far as opening files, saving them, changing fonts, colors, etc. However, I'm looking to add a Close button to my menu strip that will just close the currently opened file, and not the entire program, while also ask the user if he/she would like to save before closing the file, and then if they select yes, it will show the save dialog, and if not, it will go ahead and close the currently opened item.

I have two treeviews, and I am writing code that will copy treenodes from one treeview to another treeview if it is selected. If a parent node is selected, I would also like to copy over all the children. If it is just a childnode, then I would like to copy just that.

Jul 6, 2011I was wondering how I would go about placing a check in the checkboxes for each child node of a parent node in a TreeView control, if I was to check the parent node.
For example:
Parent 1Child 1

If I was to check "Parent 1" how would I be able to make that event place a checkbox beside all of the child nodes of "Parent 1"? (Child1, 2, and 3.)
XML Node Search Jump - Xml Reader Reads All Child Nodes
Dec 16, 2009[Code] my problem is if i search the class node with the name attribute of value "IT MAJEL 03", the xml reader reads through the first class which is "IT MAJEL 04" and read all of its child nodes(which i think is very awkward. why continue reading to its child nodes if the class name you're looking does not even match). is there another way to actually jump the reader of the xml node to the next xml node of the same level?
I mean if I search the class named "IT MAJEL 03", the reader should jump to the next same level element it does not match the query. It should skip reading the "IT Majel 04" child nodes. what I want to achieve here is I want to save nanoseconds of computing.

This article: [URL] has some information but it either doesn't work for me or I am putting the wrong information it. What I want to happen is when a button is pressed I want to close both parent and child forms and then go to another form (frmResults). Then there will be a button on frmResults that will take me to the beginning form (frmPTCalculator). With this code below when I click the button on frmCalculator it goes to the MDI form and both parent and child forms are there.
