I was wondering i have some vbscript code that im executing in an html document using webbrowser.document.scriptinvoke and pass it the name of my vbscript sub but I have a script i paste into a vbs file and it runs all the way through fine what settings can i change for webbrowser control to get it to work correctly?
I have a .net Forms Application with webbrowser control. I have a html file loaded in the control. I want to set Margins, Headers and Footers and orientation from the code itself for printing that document...
I am in need of a form that shows various options, exactly like the Options in Visual Studio. Since there are so many options I too want them categorized, with a TreeView to the left taking care of showing the right category. The usual 'easy' approach here would be to just place a TreeView control on the form, add some nodes, and give those nodes a tag or key that corresponds to a panel or UserControl with the options for that category.Since there will be a lot of options however, this is not really feasible design-wise; the form would be cluttered with possibly 50 panels, all of which I would need to select and bring to front from time to time to add controls to them that represent the options.
So I decided to create a custom control that does exactly that. The control is very similar to my Wizard usercontrol, users can add OptionsPanels at design time, which inherit Panel and simply represent one panel of options. When they do, the panel is added to a container panel, and at the same time a TreeNode is added to a TreeView. The control uses a custom ControlDesigner to handle design-time clicks in the Treeview, selecting a different node would select and bring to front the corresponding panel, allowing the user to add the controls he wants.
Due to the design time support the problem of having 50 panels is no longer present, only one panel will be visible at a time and selecting the right panel is as simple as selecting the corresponding TreeNode, just as during run-time. Anyway, I got all this working, but only for a single 'level' of categories. As you can see in the Visual Studio options, there can be multiple levels of categories. For example, the Environment node has a bunch of children, where each child represents one 'options panel'. There can even be deeper nesting, see the Text Editor node for example.Let me begin by drawing out the basics of how my control works so far.
The main control is an OptionsView control, which contains a SplitContainer with a TreeView to the left and a OptionsPanelContainer to the right. The OptionsPanelContainer is merely a Panel to which only OptionsPanel controls can be added, and which raises events when this happens, as well as when OptionsPanels are removed from it. An OptionsPanel also inherits Panel, and these are the actual panels the users will see in the control, one for each option category. For now, each OptionsPanel has exactly one corresponding TreeNode (and vice versa). In the Visual Studio options, each 'parent' category usually has a 'General' node as the first child, and the parent and this General node show the same option panel, but I am ignoring that for the moment.
The OptionsView control has a property Panels that returns the ControlCollection (Controls property) of the OptionsPanelContainer (in other words: it returns a collection of OptionsPanels that are in this container panel).
vb.net <Editor(GetType(Designers.OptionsPanelCollectionEditor), GetType(UITypeEditor))> _ <DesignerSerializationVisibility(DesignerSerializationVisibility.Content)> _ Public ReadOnly Property Panels As Control.ControlCollection Get Return Me.PanelContainer.Controls End Get End Property
A custom CollectionEditor for this property takes care of the designer: even though the property type is ControlCollection, the CollectionEditor knows it should create instances of the OptionsPanel control instead of just Controls. When it does this, a corresponding TreeNode is also created and its Tag property is set to the OptionsPanel. Vice versa, the Node property of the OptionsPanel is set to the node. Hence the node and panel both know their corresponding object.
vb.net Public Class OptionsPanelCollectionEditor Inherits System.ComponentModel.Design.CollectionEditor Public Sub New(type As Type) MyBase.New(type) End Sub Protected Overrides Function CreateCollectionItemType() As System.Type
[code]....
So far so good, this all works fine. I can add Panels via the designer and when I do a new TreeNode appears in the TreeView. I can select this node and the panel becomes visible (comes to the front). Now, I am a little stuck. How do I implement child option panels? And more importantly: how do I let the user add child panels? The most logical choice I think is to let each OptionsPanel have a property (ChildPanels or something) that returns the child OptionsPanels for that panel. Once the user selects an OptionsPanel then, he can look in the property grid to find its ChildPanels property and add child panels to that.
There is a problem though: what would this property return? It must return a ControlCollection of some container (this is, I think, a requirement for the designer features to work, otherwise panels are not added to the Form.Designer.vb file). But there is no container. I cannot add them to the OptionsPanel itself, that would make no sense because the parent OptionsPanel has its own set of controls (the options itself...), there cannot be another (fully docked) Panel on top of those obviously. The container of the main OptionsView then? That is not an option either, its Controls collection holds ALL OptionsPanels, not just the children of the selected panel. I cannot 'select' only the right panels either, that would require me to return a new instance of ControlCollection, it would be impossible to return the actual ControlsCollection that holds merely a small selection of its controls.
I have a facebook iframe app I'm trying to test using a WebBrowser Control on a form in VB.NET 2010. Whenever I try to access the WebBrowser.Document.Window.Frames frame object on a document where my app is showing in the broswer, I get an Access Denined exception. Reading around on the web, I see people saying that this is to keep scripts in a document from accessing content in iframes that are pulling content from another domain, as per [URL] for security reasons.
While I totally understand why this is done for the general public, how can I disable it on my machine so that I can run these tests? I can't properly test my app without doing it in the facebook iframe and using the WebBrowser control is the only way I know to do this test programmatically. I'm on windows server 2003 and ie8, .net4.0, if that helps. I own the domain where the app is, and its in AS.NET MVC2, so if there's anything I can do to the web code to enable this??? I also removed the Internet Explorer ENhanced Security COnfiguaration component, but that didn't help.
iīm having a problem..itīs about having done a form2 for options and making a soft start with editing homepage. i got one textbox, one label and one button. inte the options for the homepage button i typed in
CType(TabControl1.SelectedTab.Controls.Item(0), WebBrowser).Navigate(Form2.TextBox1.Text) and i know that itīs working. and sure.. i can change the homepage in the options menu but when i cloas the options menu my homepage goes to "blank". here is my code for the form2.
I'm making a webbrowser for my website and I'm short on codes. I don't know many codes, usually finding them on the net through tutorials however I can't find ones for this. If anyone knows where I can find books online that would be great. Okay I need codes for how to add bookmarks to a book mark options bar. Also I need to find codes for the options of the browser.
What i want: i want to know where i can find a noob friendly detailed guide on how to add a history box/favourites box and an options windows. so the user browsing my webbrowser can check the history just like IE's or Firefox's. same with the favourites.. and with the options they can clear all their cookies and history, aswell as changing the homepage i know the fucntion to change the homepage via a menu strip so yehh..
Then I progressed to using the tabcontrol and multiple tabpages to group associated data for manipulation.I'm thinking the treeview control could be used to create a slick options page, however with the previous methods all the controls were drawn in design time, making it easy to edit events/properties etc.., I can only think using a treeview control on a single form that controls would need to be added programmatically/dynamically.
I know I can open the control panel item by using the following command %windir%system32SystemPropertiesPerformance.exe. However what I do not know is there a way to programmatically select the options on that control panel item? For example in a vb program I can launch that panel quietly have the program select "adjust for best performance" or select "let windows decide" Apply it and then close ?
I am writing a few web based apps which will require a webbrowser extension. I have already used the IE webbrowser control that uses the trident web rendering engine. I believe this is MSHTML.DLL? Anyway, some of the users of my programs have complained of a few things. Particularily,
1. It seems to be a slow browser, at least compared to other rendering engines out there (webkit and gecko are 2 known ones).
2. On the developer side, it seems to be low in features. The features are sufficient in most cases, but there are some "special" things that I need.
3. It has VERY low HTML (and especially HTML5) compliance.
My question is, how much work would it take to use a different engine (such as webkit .net, which I HAVE heard of) and be able to distribute it easily. Or, if you guys feel ambitious, we could try writing a brand new engine ourselves. I know how big of a job it is, and frankly, I have no clue where to begin. I would just like your thoughts and opinions on the matter.
i have created an app to load an access database into a datagridview, which contains web urls. When button is clicked it webbrowser1 navigates to each url and each webpages document.inertext is put into textbox. This all work fine but after a while the webbrowser navigation becomes increasingly slower.
For Each RW As DataGridViewRow In Me.DataGridView1.SelectedRows '''''''''''#######cell values into strings ########'''''''''''''' If RW.Selected = True Then Dim domain As String
I am trying to use vb to open windows 7 visual effects in control panel and only select certain options then saving it. Either buy making vb do all the work or making vb find the registry keys.
Ive tried to edit option on the webbrowser control, example javascript enable/disable. but found out that it uses IE's option and cannot be changed. So my question is: Is there a way to do a "webbrowser" without using the WEbbrowser control that is based on internetexplorer? If it is, can i change option example flash and so on?
As i'm learning more and more about developing ive just got my head around creating classes and modules, i started wondering about something to do with configuration of applications where deployment is in a more diverse environment say in a company where different branches dont need access to all parts of a program, so i thought id throw the question out there in a basic sense and get some feedback. so i can go off and do some more reading and learning.
So the scenario in my head is like this.
So we have for arguments sake FrmConfig which is the master configuration form, then we have FrmMain which is the root menu our application general user interfaces with. So here based on what options are checked as enabled in FrmConfig effects what controls (like buttons/menu options) are enabled in FrmMain.
I have a regular application form with a WebBrowser control.I have strung together a .htm file (from a regular text file) which I then assign to the WebBrowser control. In the html file, I have filenames mentioned.I am trying to string together the html in such a way as to give a clickable link or button that will parse into html and open the corresponding file in another WebBrowser control in VB.I have tried using VBScript and JavaScript to put a button in the html.As long as the function or sub I call is also in the same html document, it works, but I really need to transfer the control back into visual basic where I can do the heavy lifting I need to.can I just not do this as a regular VB application? Any way to do it without adding the complication of requiring ActiveX?
We are converting a VB6 project to VB.net 2005. The VB6 project used Interop.Scripting.Dll reference.
We do not want to use this Interop.Scripting.Dll in our VB.Net project. find the .Net Counterpart of Scripting.Dll so that we do not require to build our .Net project with the old scripting dll reference?
We are using Scripting.FileSystemObject and Scripting.TextStream of Interop.Scripting.Dll. What is the equivalent .net counterpart of these objects in VB.Net 2005.?
Im brand new to VB and almost completely new to scripting.Where could I find a list of the most basic and useful commands with explanations, or even just like a dictionary of commands in VB?
Also, (this is a painfully easy question but searches haven't come up with any useful results) how do you make something happen if a button is clicked... Ill explain.
Ive made my first app - the picture viewer - and am currently expanding it. So far I have added a full-screen function with,[code...]
Now how do I make it Close full screen when that button has been clicked? Ive been playing around with it for a while but cant figure it out.
I would like to add some scripting support to my .NET-application (I usually code in VB.NET). Since VisualStudio 2008 won't let me use VSA to get scripting support, and the Windows ScriptControl crashes in 64-bit mode, I have been looking for an alternative solution to my problem.I would really like to be able to code the scripts in VBScript or VB.NET, because of the simple syntax.Would it be possible to implement some kind of sandbox inside my application to make it run a VB.NET application inside itself? Or is there any simpler way of getting scripting support?
I'm using visual studio 2008. I have searched the google upside down, but could not find anything... I guess i'm not typing it correctly.
My question is: How do I add checkboxes through scripting in vb. Instead adding them through toolbox. So when a new file is found, It will create checkbox automatically.
I'm trying to write the code to add users to sql 2005 backend server, and a windows login form. so that certain area's of my program have restricted access.
I took the dive into learning VBScript due to some server side scripts that I work with. During a course I ran into Powershell and did some Google searching. From what I was reading, VBScript is good for legacy applications and Powershell is the way to go for Win7. I did not run into anything telling me of this being true or if its a false statement and VBScript will be used for Win7 and Win8. Should I look into learning Powershell and abort my VBScript for now and just worry about VBScript for legacy systems?
I have a webbrowser control, where I show images (bmp files, that the program creates), and I want to add some UserControls to setup the images (as showing layers, or choosing colors to display). Is easy to do appropiate UserControls on VB.NET, and I know almost nothing about HTML, so, I would like to add standard VB.NET UserControls near the images.
The software company I work for offers data conversion as a service for new clients who have previously used other similar software. I've written a VB.NET application to automate common conversion operations, and have separate logic between known vendors.particular file layout has become rather common, but due to the nature of how this particular competitor's application stores information, certain fields mean one thing for one client, and another for a different client.Certain elements within this vendor's format change every time, so I've written the application to account for that. Because some data fields mean different things to different vendors, I have to change my mapping code every time. This wasn't an issue when I had one of these every six months or so, but these are becoming much more common and I would much rather find a way to further automate this process.
I need to register my class library using the regasm.exe distributed with .Net on user's computers. I have a need to script this so that a command file can be ran to do this.
Question: As multiple versions of this program are on the user's computers, one for each version of .Net, I presume I would want to run the latest version installed. Also, considering that on most of the machines we are talking Windows 7, there is a Framework & Framework64 parent folder. I presume I'd want to use the Framework64 version on Windows 7, no? Are there any inherant environment variables I can make use of rather than hard coding a path in a command file to call RegAsm.exe?
Underneath each of these version RegAsm.exe resides. Ideally which should I make use of (Does it matter?) and is there, say something like: %regasm% variable I can make use of?
Ok this is how it is, I have my main app form, and from there I open another seperate form for scripting, but they are both open at the same time, when I run a script from the scripting form, it interfers with the main window form code that's running, I'm guessing they are both running in the same thread or whatever, how do I fix it? I've tried using thread commands but obviously it's not working,
