Using Visual Studios 2010.I have a project form.on this form is a tab page with 7 tabs on it. i also have a listbox and 6 buttons.i have the listbox datasource set to the bindingsource i'm using and the display member set to name, the 6 buttons filter that datasource based on what i want them to filter it by.... what i'm trying to do is have the buttons filter that data accordingly then select the filtered item onto a different tab... I DO NOT WANT TO USE DIFFERENT PAGES. SAME PAGE, DIFFERENT TABS. Sorry, not yelling just want to make that clear.so say when the page loads my listbox populates with all my projects. i click the button that says "wood" and the listbox filters all the projects under wood. i want to be able to select 1 item and have it fill the dataset on the tab that is labeled "wood projects"...
Same with if i select "metal". listbox filters all the projects under metal, i select 1 item and it fills the dataset under the tab labeled "metal projects"... and so on...now i got the listbox to populate and the buttons all work as far as filtering....but how do i go about doing the select part and having it fill the appropriate tab page?
I am working on a project for software engineering where we are trying to create a warehouse inventory system. I have created an inventory page where I can add/delete/search for an item as well as access invoices and reorder items... i am struggling on the delete item part. I have my design set up where there are four different lists on my page. One for name, one for serial number, one for RFID number and one for amount in stock. I want to be able to select an item by name and its information in serial number, rfid, and amount also select and have no idea how to go about this..I wanted to use four different lists because I need to be able to delete an item from the list and it remove just one from that stock and not the entire item unless there is only one of that item left in stock.

I've been looking everywhere for an answer to a simple question, but i'm having issues, so i thought i'd join and post here. I'm having issues with a simple concept. I load information from a SQL database, and i want to add a 'Passport' link URL relating to column cells called 'name'. I just started learning VB.NET about a moth ago (I have been taking classes, so its been about 5 days worth of classes) and I decided to work on this project idea I had. Essentially, it's a database to keep track of anime and manga that I, or whoever else uses it, have watched/read.[code]...
However, now I want to make it so that when one selects a specific title in the list box, it will show the data in the tags below the <series> tag that matches the item selected in a label. One thing I just thought of is than since the list box gets populated in the order that the series are in, it could be easier to go in order from first item equaling the first <series> and so on.

So I have a class that I use to filter the results of a datagridview in vb.net. And one of the things I want this class to do, is keep the column order, width, and visibility.
So what I do, is when my search class is instantiated, i create a copy of the columns in a hashtable, for later referencing.

This works fine except for one thing! after I click OK to the msgbox prompt, the record highlights normally and I click on the next record, and I get an Argument out of range exception error message, where I expected to just get another message with the next record number.

I clone the information to the empty listview2 from populated listview1 adding quantity via a numeric up/down. That works to a certain extent but problem is it adds another instance of the added item each time I press buy. I would like the items to appear in listview2 according to their index value in listview1. And when I press buy the app change only the quantity in column 2 if the item is already in listview2, if not just add the new item.

I have a datagridview, with 3 columns, each containing dropdown filters (in the column header). I've got the web browser with tabs in all working fine, but there's one bug, i can add tabs, delete em, etc.. but when i delete a tab then go to create a new tab, it gives me the error: InvalidArgument=Value of '6' is not valid for 'index'. I am coding a program for a movie trivia game that randomly shows a movie quote and the the user selects a movie name from a combo box that matches. I used a array for the movie quotes and a comboBox for the movie names. I have coded a portion of the program but I am stuck on how to compare the array quote being shown to what movie the user selects from the comboBox. I have tried numerous different things but none seem to work right. The way I have it coded now it shows that every movie I pick that it is right even if it is wrong. I am going to show part of the code here and also attach the entire solution for anyone that needs it .
I am working in VB 2008 and I have set up a datagridview to display rows of data which can then be selected. When I select the first row I get the error: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. When I select any other row the program executes as it should. From what I have learned so far is that the DataGridView has an index of -1 and that it counts the header row as part of the index which is the -1.When I select the first row through either DataGridView1_RowHeaderMouseClick or DataGridView1_CellContentClick the index is 0 for the first record. If the index is 0 I think it would fire off, but I have no idea what is happening behind the scenes. I can check the index, so when it is 0 and the code attempts to access the row, that is when I get the message.On an index number of 1 and up the code executes fine.So, is there a way to re-index the DataGridView, or is there a work around/fix for this issue?
How can i get the Column Index and the Row Index when I click on the ListView?The ListView1.FocusedItem.GetSubItemAt(e.X, e.Y).Text function only gets the text of the first column, I can't find the option of getting the Index of the Column and Row upon clicking.

Currently my ListView sorts items by image.index. So 0 is at the top, then 1, 2 and so on. Think of it as an IRC chat room nick list. Ops at top then the rest are sorted alphabetically
I am trying to get back a single from from a EF database model using the below line of code..

Where classrm is the name of the entity and db is declared as a new entity. What I am trying to do is select a row from the entity based on matching Course_ID which in this model is a string.
