Jul 7, 2009
i want to send mail through my exchange server 2003 using visual basic 6.0, can any one guide me through the process how i can do this, i am using windows XP at client end.
I'm wondering if anyone knows how to connect to exchange server via vb.net.
I need to create a program that imports data from a calander in exchange server 2003.
(The idea of the program is to imput sick and holidays into a calander and get the vb.net program to read in all the data and store in a database for future use and reporting etc)
I am creating a program where i need to calculate the mail exchange server name for a given domain name. I mean, if the domain name is [URL] then i need yahoo mail exchange server address. That is [URL] How can i get mail exchange server name for a domain name through coding in vb.net 2?
Sends emails with a pdf report attachment for the fire impairments. WORKS GREAT for in house emails but gets the error mentioned when sending outside of the hospital to the fire department. I can email from outlook to ERROR@cityofwsfire.org just fine.[code]
i ma trying to send email using a exchange server i am in intranet i can use the same code to send email using gmail smtp a/c but when i try using the exchanger server inside my network it fails here is the exception i get
SOURCE: SystemMESSAGE: Failure sending mail.INNER EXCEPTION: System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 192.168.10.100:25 at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.DoConnect(EndPoint endPointSnapshot, SocketAddress socketAddress) at
I am tring to send e-mail used VB 2008. Below is my code. The error message I am getting is "5 Failure sending mail at System.Net.mail.client.send(MailMessage message).I have two questions. 1.) What am I doing wrong? & 2.) Is there a way the get a more description error message.

I have a project that up until recently has been working fine. It sends an email message to a user once a file has been successfully uploaded, registered and/or approved to use the website. It is written in VB.NET framework 1.1, running ASP.NET on a Windows 2003 server SE sp2.
First the code Public Sub EmailAfterRegister(ByVal sEmail As String, ByVal sUser As String) Try

This has worked for over one or two years. Today I realized upon testing I get the following error:The procedure entry point IstrcmpiI could not be located in the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL.Upon some research I found that maybe I needed to install MDAC 2.8, which i downloaded and installed today, however i still get the same error. I have had my communications and network admins check traffic and connectivity to the smtp server and all is working fine. Yet I still get the error.
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click ProgressBar1.Value = 5 Dim strTo As String = setting.tosett.ToString[code].....
i want the program to ping the server before sending the mail; if server is available then send mail if not then message box with warning appears notifying user to check VPN connection and sending of mail is canceled.
I've been working on this personal project of mine and this has me stumped. I told my friend what i was trying to do and hes going to let me use his mail server that he uses at work. I have already looked on google for a sample application, but the only one i could find is not the one im looking for. Ive never worked with System.Net.Mail before so this is new to me. Im sure it would be something like this:
Imports System.Net.Mail Dim toPhoneNumber As String = "DestinationPhoneNumber"; Dim login As String =
My intention is to load my data from access database through datagridview but it keeps telling me the same error. This is the exact error message I've gotten.. it threw an oledb Exception stating: Could not open table 'MSysAccounts' in the workgroup information file. I've been browsing and viewing different resources but I still do not find a solution to view my data in datagridview. Few things I've tried:
1. I originally uses Ms Access 2007 to load, but it does not seem to work well, hence i converted it into Ms Access 2003 format. Same error displayed.
2. Working around with the workgroup in Access 2003, creating new workgroup which creates System.mdw file and I replaced it in:
I'm trying to develop some code to send a fax automatically from a ASP webpage.
[code].....
Basically on my development machine (XP Pro) the fax sending works correctly via our SBS 2003 server which has the fax services installed. Now I want to upload the ASP webpage to our Windows 2003 Standard server under IIS. When I try to send faxes using this server (via the SBS2003) server I get the exception "Operation Failed".I've installed/uninstalled the Fax Service on our Windows 2003 Standard server but still the same error message.
I have created an excel 2003 file using visual basic 2010 express edition with access as backend. The excel is created using a select into query. I would need help to protect this excel file once it generated using visual basic 2010 so that the users cannot edit the same.
Using .NET (VB or C#), how can I add an e-mail alias to a user in Active Directory? I have written code to change the format of our usernames from "first_last" to "first.last.country" and I need to update the e-mail addresses as well. Our solution is to add an alias e-mail to the users in exchange, but I don't know how I can do this using .NET.
I have a requirement to query Exchange Server 2003 for some specified user accounts and to retrieve all calendar appointments for a given date range.I've had a look at various articles on the Internet but most relate to local installations of Outlook (not Exchange server) and others are in VBScript (in this case, which doesn't convert well to .NET).
I am writing some code in VB.Net under .NET 2.0 which interfaces with MS Exchange 2003.Because of the Exchange 2003 "requirement" I am forced to write this code using WEBDAV.The code itself is replicating, to some degree,a schedule management process. It's creating Appointments on the Exchange Server in response to inputs from the user and managing it's data internally in a SQL Server database. The problem situation is this: A new person is assigned to be in charge of a meeting. The requirement says the program should generate a meeting cancellation request to the person removed from the meeting (if such a person existed) and a meeting request sent to the new person. In the case of there being an existing person, what appears to happen is this:
The meeting cancellation request
gets sent Exchange barfs and returns status code 500 (internal server error) during the set of requests which send the meeting request to the new person. However! While debugging this particular scenario, it works just fine for me, if I step through the code in the Visual Studio debugger. Left to it's own devices, it fails every time.Just for yuk's sake, I added a Thread.Sleep(500) to the part after sending the cancellation request, and Exchange doesn't barf anymore...
So, my question! If adding a Thread.Sleep to the code causes this error to go away, a race condition is implied, no? But, my code is running under a web application and is a totally single threaded process, from start to finish. The web requests I am sending are all in synchronous mode so this shouldn't be a problem. [code]....
...but a lot of the implementation details are hidden here, as I wrote a set of classes to interface with Exchange WebDAV.
using visual studio 2008 and programming in visual basic. i need to create a ftp server and am not sure where to start...i've tried to find anything that would help but all i come up with is the system.net.ftpwebrequest object but nothing really about how to use it. i need it to download files only, show connections, the ip addresses connected and the progess of the file transfer.
this is my first time here and im a little lost - so i'm hoping this is the right area to post this (I have used other forums before, but jumping in and out of various msdn area's makes figruing out a site map very differcult at first).
I am attempting to connect to Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 from within Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. My connection string is as follows:
connection = New SqlConnection("Server=localhost;Database=greenapplication;User ID=WindowsID;Password=WindowsPassword")
I keep getting this exception: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException:Login failed for user 'WindowsID'.What am I doing wrong? Are there certain permissions that I have to set up?
I'm a beginner user of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and I want to ask what would be the initial code to connect a Visual Basic 2008 form to a SQL Server compact 3.5. I want to create an add new account program using the above applications.
Client application: This would query the database for information and then display this information on a map.
Database: holds vehicle information such as speed, location, payload etc.
Database update: This application would need to continually check for information received from vehicles and then add that to the database.
I am confident that with my current skill set and some research and learning, I could write the client application and interface it to a database. However, I am at a loss as to how to write the database updater. Presumably, this would be an application running continually on the server, waiting for information to be received from vehicles and updating the database. Is this something I can do with ASP.NET and Visual Basic? Or would this require a different way of thinking than writing web pages?
