when i run the app on my machine I get an error telling me :

It works well except when it comes to sending an XML file whose name contains accents. In the latter case the UTF-8 name is not correct, so Widows Mail Life presents him with name consisting of a set of meaningless characters. Furthermore, the content has lost the format of lines and spaces, presented part of MIME type information in the header, so that it is unreadable XML readers. Today I realized upon testing I get the following error:The procedure entry point IstrcmpiI could not be located in the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL.Upon some research I found that maybe I needed to install MDAC 2.8, which i downloaded and installed today, however i still get the same error. I have had my communications and network admins check traffic and connectivity to the smtp server and all is working fine. Yet I still get the error.

Develop A Client/server Application That Requires Sending Files And Text?
Mar 24, 2010As some of you may know, I'm trying to develop a client/server application that requires sending files and text. Text is not a problem, this works fine, and for some of the part, sending files works, but they get slightly mangled in the process. For example, I used a 4x1 BMP that was alternately coloured red and white and tried sending it across. The output was the correct image dimensions, but the colours were wrong. It was more like a very dark red and very dark grey. I inspected the files with notepad, and the header was the same, but the data was different.
I did some research and apparently need to use a BinaryReader and BinaryWriter as opposed to reading the data as a string (like I was when it was being mangled) but now the data is all wrong, even filesize is different.The code below is a simple example of code for reading an image and then writing it again elsewhere using Binary Read/Write.

Feb 17, 2009I want to send an email that contains an attachment via vb.net and smtp. I used gmail as smtp server. This project works correctly when the size of attachment size is lower than 1Mb. When the size of the file is bigger than this size it makes an error. The thread that owns the destination context/apartment is most likely either doing a non pumping wait or processing a very long running operation without pumping Windows messages. Sending E-mail In .net/2008 VS?
Sep 21, 2009I've been able to create and send an e-mail using System.net.mail. But it appears that the message isn't being sent until the application closes. This causes two major problems for me.1) When the user tries to send a second message, I get the following error: a generic error occurred in GDI+. I believe this is caused because I'm creating and sending a screen shot. If I take out the screen shot the error goes away. The screen shot is nice but not necessary. I can work around it, if I have to.
2) I am using the e-mail to provide notification that a process has been completed. The sender may continue to do other work while in the application -- including sending an e-mail to another recipient.
What do I need to do to get the e-mail to be sent before the application is closed?
