I've got a small utility I use to communicate with Yahoo's APIs. Their servers return all the responses in JSON. Is there an easy way to parse this into its base form when you don't necessarily know what will be in the response?

I have a json object from the facebook api

The entire json object is a dynamic object.
I can easily read the value of the updated_time with:
post.updated_time
However this returns the count of items in the collection, not the value of the "count" property in the json object.
post.comments.count
Is it possible to get the value of post.comments.count without it using the "count" keyword?
I should note that the JSON is much larger than this. If there are actually comments there is another collection of the actual comments so something like post.count(0) would not work in that case.
I am been stuck on this for 3 days now...I have been accessing the twitter api to pull a user_timeline for a list of users and the json that comes back is impossible to work with. I tried to deserialize it using javascriptserializer and get an error:invalid object passed in , ':' or '}'
Now this is frustrating since I expect the json being returned to be error free. Then I tried json.net and split the posts using string.split and tried to convert each post to Jobject or jarray. for Jarray I get

Now I have formatted the code here and not pasted the whole file but it does look like valid json to me and I do not alter anything after receiving the stream from the twitter api. Can someone please point me in the right direction? I really need to get this stuff parsed?

My network communication subs (based on WCF) just give me the ability to send a message to the other PC and process any received messages. The issue is that any response received is processed by my designated network message event handler sub, but I have no way of feeding it back to the sub that called for the original message to be sent.
To quickly illustrate, the situation is something like this:

I have two Buttons, button A and button B. After 100 clicks on button A a pictures is displayed and after 10 clicks on button B another picture is displayed. I am accessing the facebook api and using the json.net library (newtonsoft.json.net)I declare a Jobject to parse the content and look for the specific elements and get their values. Everything works fine for the first few but then I get this unexplained nullexception error " (Object reference not set to an instance of an object)Now I took a look at the declaration but cannot see how to change it. The error occurs at the last line above.I check to see if message is null and then look for the next desired field as follows

This is one example where "message" does not appear in the first few lines but appears later. So what I do is look for position of message and description and which ever is first go and get that and if I get an error or the fields do not return anything, I try and parse by regex and even that is not working right.
I have two experimental web services. One is an asmx contained within a .net web application. It's quite out dated but I just need it for a quick project. I need the client to auto-connect. This program will be running on the LAN only, is there a way to find on what computer the server is running on (i.e. all computers hosting the specific server on port x). I've seen it on a couple of games that run on LAN. Without access to the internet, they manage to display all available games on the local LAN. I'm doing this with VB.net.
I am using the following code to get the Disk I/O on various servers. For now I am just retrieving the DiskReadsPerSec to get a feel for it. The return data gives a uint32 for each drive on the server and a total. My questions is what is the time frame that this represents? Is this at the second that my code polls the drive or is this over the last few seconds or do I need to do multiple runs to get an average.
My intention is to build a graph for each drive so I wonder how often I need to poll the drive to get a acurate value.

If i make the test from local network it works but if i take the test using mysql servers (same version) from different city it shows me the error "Timeout expired. View 3 RepliesA little background, the client that I am working with has an enterprise AD that is a mess. They have no containers for servers or any organization what-so-ever. They also shutdown servers and did not remove them properly from AD. So I needed to come up with a program that would find all the windows server, identify them by OS, and then check to see if they would actually respond to a ping. (I am aware that this is not a perfect method if they are refusing ICMP's but its good enough for my purposes). The completion of the program will display all the information and then allow the user to save the excel workbook in a location that they choose.
