Show A Marquee-type Progress Bar For Each Process As It's Being Opened?

I have created a listbox with several items that when a button is clicked, it opens up the application that uses that file and then starts the file. this all works fine, but I wanted to know if there is a way to show a marquee-type progress bar for each process as it's being opened?

I have a form that I will be using to copy directories of photos from memory cards to locations on a computer. I would like to add a progress bar to the application to show the progress of the copying in real time. This is the code that I use to copy the directory in the first place

There is a question that I have from YEARS after working with DotNetBar Components that How do you set the Marquee style of a normal progress bar on the circular one? I am successfully trying to send an email message through my windows form. The only problem is when i click the button to send mail it is not showing the prograssbar. It shows after a delay or sometimes doesn't show at all.Is it due to the event handler? I have no clue and all i need to first show is the progressbar when the send button is clicked and then when sending message is successful or unsuccessful then hide progressbar and display the Txtmessage.text.

i have a standard login form that allows the user to enter username and password and click OK or cancel. I have a progress bar called pbLaunch with the visible property set to false and the animation set to marquee. when the user clicks OK i would like to run a separate thread called bgwProgress that makes the progress bar visible and fires up the marquee just to show that something is happening while form1 loads up.....so far i'm stuckn the ok click event i have the following:

I wanted a ProgressBarStyle.Marquee animation while a query is running. I don't want the user to think the application is locked up. it's really not progress just MarqueeAnimation. the issue I have is it's not running as a thread or in the background.

I need help with the progress bar control. I can only get it to show or display in the Marquee mode, even though I have tried setting it to Continuous and Blocks. I have tried setting it programmatically at run time and in the IDE properties. I get the Marquee style every time no matter what I do. What am I missing here? I have two forms, when the user selects a button, the second form opens and an external executable begins an automated process. The point of the second form, is to only show the current progress of the automated tasks and closes when those tasks are completed.How would I use a progress bar to show the current progress of an action on a different form without knowing how long it will take?

In the app I'm currently making, I have two progress bars. One for current task being committed and the other is for overall progress.During runtime, I calculate how many tasks are being run and set that as the maximum. As each task completes, the progress bar is incremented by one.
I want the current task progress bar to show the progress of the current task. Some tasks can take a few minutes to complete so that progress bar works great. But, if the task is super quick, like editing registry keys, I see no progress at all.When I edit the registry, it basically goes like this:

It completes so quickly that I never see the bar even move.I also have each task report its name into a label and it skips ahead so quickly that I only see the first task name and the last.Is there any way to make this do a better job at reporting the progress?

I came across a problem in my program it takes too long to calculate the values needed (about 10 sec) .But thats not the problem you don't know when the program is working or not, as it just locks up until its finshed and I view that as a problem.
I need to be able to show the progress of this .I looked at using background Workers but I get exception "Object reference not set to an instance" I believe this is because the background worker cannot write values or something ,As it works will a normal handler.

Is it possible to link a process (i.e. osk.exe) opened by a program so it dies when calling program dies?So, I start my application, it starts OSK.EXE, and if the program crashes, the on-screen keyboard is still there. Possible to link the two so that the process dies when the application dies?

To summarize, my program uses a textbox to display the chatroom from a text file on the school network. When someone sends a message, it writes that message to the text box like so:My.Computer.FileSystem.WriteAllText(baseDir & room & ".txt", Message, True)
The baseDir is where the chat files are stored, and the room that the user is in can be altered by the user. created a scroll bar to use so when the chat room reaches a certain length of lines, you may use a scroll bar to view the whole chat. I realized that when someone sends a new message, the scroll bar then jumps back to the top of the text box. Is there any way to fix this, so that it will jump to the bottom each time someone types something new?

When i try to run a msi using System.Process.Start("test.msi") in a vb app i get the following error. The installation package could not be opened. Contact application vendor. Msi file works fine when double clicked, tried System.Process.Start with text files and exe files and they work fine, problem only with msi files. Running vista. Also tried xp but no luck.

Bit of a Noobie question here, I have a process, for example[code]...
I need to launch the process from within code in a form or module and I want to monitor its progress, for example with a progress bar.
The problem I have is that in order to use a 'progress form' I have to show a form modally, then kick off the process (usually with a button) and allow a cancel option.
I want the form to show then start running automatically without user intervention.
