I have quite a long java class and I need it displayed within a text box, with a scroll bar, in a powerpoint presentation. I have only just found out that powerpoint can use vb to create macros. I would want it displayed in the powerpoint presentation correctly formatted etc. [Code]
In order to call a java class in vb, I found the following procedure and I tried.
(1) create a java class (eg: MyTest .java)
as public class MyTest { public int myfunction(int value1, int value2) { return value1+value2; }
(2) compile to get a MyTest.class
(3)register Mytest.class using javareg.exe file from Microsoft SDK for Java using javareg /register /class:MyTest /progid:MyTest and see a MessageBox displayed with Succesfull register Class message
(4) copy MyTest.class to C:WinntJavaTrustlib
(5) open a New Project on Visual Basic. And paste this brief code on the Form Load event for example and run it. Set x = CreateObject("MyTest") MsgBox x.myfunction(1, 1)
I did all the above steps but when I run the vb program (Step 5), I get the error message "Cannot create ActiveX component". Unhandled Exception message.
I am working on a Java project and I am having some difficulties with importing a .class file. Unfortunately I do not have access to the source code of the file?
In one of my vb.net 2008 application i have called a java class file through batch process which creates txt file and jar file and put in app path folder.[code]...
I have been asked to create a project in vb.net which needs to integrate a java class created by Apple (Autoingestion.class) to pull sales records and so on.I found out a couple of questions here on stackoverflow but none of the answers given worked for me when trying to integrate this java class in my .net application. For example this question seemed to be what I really needed but when trying to compile this java class (I decompiled it first using Java Decompiler), it generally throws some errors. All I need is to use this class in my application to invoke a method.Does anyone know how to pull this out without much ninja-ing?
I wrote a Java class that parses a bpel text file and then returns a count of the number of occurences of certain words. I wanted to convert it to VB2008 Forms application, so that its results are displayed in a TextBox and not on the console. The problem is that VB2008 lacks Scanner and StringTokenizer classes, which are in my current Java class. Am not sure how to get the same functionality (or better) in VB2008. Can someone out there help to convert this class.
Our VB.NET project is using a Java library from Vivid Solutoins [URL}... to do Geometry calculations.[URL}...
What I can't figure out are the units specifically for the Buffer property, or any other distance for that matter. My program is dealing with Nautical Miles, and the documentation gives no indication if the units are degrees, miles, Nautical Miles, Kilometers, inches, etc.
Under Visual Basic 2010, I am trying to define a specific instance of a static method that was created as a Java class. I have a vendor supplied dll added in as a reference.[code]...
But, I can't seem to define a specific instance of this method. Using "IntegrationMethod.getIntegrationMode()"always returns a value of zero.
There doesn't appear to be any way to "setIntegrationMode" to a specific value.
The documentatoin for this Class as provided by the vendor are shown below.
When I asked the vendor for assistance, their response was: "
Our javadocs for the IntegrationMethod class show that we provide three predefined instances of the IntegrationMethod class[code]...
I am a Java developer. I have the task of converting a VB class to Java. Can some VB developer comment the following VB code so that I can write its Java equivalent?
Public Class RmaValidationCode ' Values for test type Public Const SOFTWARE_TEST_TYPE = 0
I'm new here at Dream.In.Code, and this is my first question! To begin I would like to say I am new to Java but not new to coding, I am using Eclipse IDE 3.7 for Java and only have a basic knowledge of Java. I understand how it works; I don't know very much code... On to my question! I am wishing to create a simple JAR file for my own education/demonstration. Yet despite my searching and reading through my book I cannot find any relevant information about how JAR files are constructed. So, what defines a JAR file? How does one compile/make one?
P.S. I wish to work with JAR files because of their seeming simplistic nature and cross-compatibility. This is true, yes?My dearest apologies, I realise I posted this in the wrong forum. May a moderator move it for me?
I have a program that allows a user to type java code into a rich text box and then compile it using the java compiler. Whenever I try to compile the code that I have written I get an error that says that I have an illegal character at the beginning of my code that is not there. This is the error the compiler is giving me:
C:UsersTravis Michael>"Program FilesJavajdk1.6.0_17injavac" Test.java Test.java:1: illegal character: 187 public class Test
I've only used type inference when using LINQ in VB.NET. However, I'm aware that type inference can be used in other parts of the language, as demonstrated below:
Dim i = 1 'i is inferred to be an Integer Dim s = "Hoi" 's is inferred to be a string Dim Temperatures(10) as Double
[code]....
I can see how type inference reduces the amount of typing I would need to write a piece of code and can also make it quicker to change the type of a base variable (such as Temperatures(10) above) as you wouldn't need to change the types of all other variables that access it (such as T). However, I was concerned that the lack of an explicit declaration of type might make the code harder to read, say during a code inspection, as it may not be immediately obvious what type a variable is. For example, by looking at just the For loop above, you might correclty assume that T is some floating point value, but wouldn't be able to tell if it's single- or double-precision without looking back at the declaration of Temperatures. Depending on how the code is written, Temperatures could be declared much earlier and would thus require the reader to go back and find the declaration and then resume reading. Admittedly, when using a good IDE, this is not so much of an issue, as a quick hover of the mouse cursor over the variable name reveals the type.
Also, I would imagine that using type inference in some situations could introduce some bugs when attempting to change the code. Consider the following (admittedly contrived) example, assuming that the classes A and B do completely different things.
Class A Public Sub DoSomething() End Sub End Class
[code]....
It is possible to change the type of ObjectList from A to B and the code would compile, but would function differently, which could manifest as a bug in other parts of the code. With some examples of type inference, I would imagine that most people would agree that its use has no negative affect on readability or maintainability. For example, in Java 7, the following can be used:
ArrayList<String> a = new ArrayList<>(); // The constructor type is inferred from the declaration.
I'm trying to make a vb.net application that has got 2 textboxes, 7 radio buttons and 2 buttons(one named compile and the other 'run'). How can I load the content of a C/C++(or any programming language) file into the 1st textbox and on clicking the compile button, i should be able to show the errors or the C/C++ program in the 2nd textbox. On clicking Run, I should be able to show the output in the 2nd textbox. In short, I want to use the 2nd textbox as a terminal/console. The radio buttons are 4 selecting the language C or C++ or python or C# or java or perl or vb.R d compilers of all these languages present in .net?
I have a textbox1 and button1 and panel1 (which is used as a popup control)i want if textbox1.text="show" then modalpopup control whose id is panel1 will be visible on buttonclick event other wise .... modal popup control panel1 will not be shown ...how to do this ? using vb.net ?
What i need to know is, is there a way of getting text from a java application/Window.i have search on google for references and have been unsuccessful.
i have a textbox in my app, and when you click the button it inputs the textbox.text into a website textarea this worked fine when i was testing it using the source code (html file on my computer) but what i did not realise was that the textarea was formatted with some java (added tools to the texarea) so now when i try it on the website it does not work as the textarea has the java running. (calls it from another url) code i was using
I have a VB program that writes a batch file to allow me to run a line of the following format:java <my class file> [options]I then run the batch file using the Shell() routine in VB.When I do this it says it cannot find <my class file>. However if I run the same batch file from a dos prompt it works.why it works in a dos prompt but not in the Shell function?
The project I'm attempting to accomplish has to do with real estate. What I would like to do is go to a URL, automatically enter login information, once logged on, be able to grab certain pieces of text from the page, and then paste those pieces of text into another online application that also requires a login.
That probably sounded a little complicated but basically all I'm doing is putting text into textboxes and then pressing buttons. It would make the job much easier if it were automated.
I searched the forums and found that the webControl module seemed to be the place to start so i enabled it in my Toolbox. I then tried downloading "IE developer toolbar" to find the name of the first textbox on the webpage. Unfortunately, both the username and password fields are part of a java app. Here is the site to see what i mean [URL].
In a Java class library I can divide my classes into packages to make them easy to manage under one root and several 'branch' namespaces, but in VB there is no sub-category in a project, all the class files are in there by alphabetical order, when the library gets big it's a mess. Is there a better way to manage class library in VB? I use visual basic 2010 express.
I am trying to extract a portion of text from a web page that is generated by a Java script. [URL] A glance at the source of the page shows the actual display content is not directly represent in the HTML Source. I am trying to grab the auction information in the body and not the menus on the right. Can someone point me to the right object model- methods and properties?
I need to create unit testing project for my current website. The currentw ebsite si written in VB. All unit testing examples are using interface to create mock object. My current VB class does not implment any interface. Can I add interface and implement it to my current class and functions without affecting or changing codes to any pages in my website that call the functions? For examples my current class is like:
my proble is the following: I have a class MyClass and another class Modifier, which has a method ModifyMyClass(ByRef mc as MyClass) that receives a MyClass instance as ByRef parameter to modify it. A smell of the code is:
I have a very simple class that is located within my App_Code folder in my VS2008 web application project. I am trying to instantiate an instance of this class from my code-behind file. Intellisense does not seem to be seeing my class and I am not sure why. I am using VB.NET which I am admittedly not that familiar with as compared to C#. Perhaps I am missing something. I would bet it has something to do with something I am missing in VB.NET.Here is my simple class (for testing):
I recently found this code (provided for third party use on another VB site), however,ll of my attempts to insert it into a class library have failed.I open a new class library and past the code in, and immediately get several errors pertaining to how certain objects can't be found. I find it it is crucial to use this code, unless someone can suggest to me another example of existing code that will do the same thing: make a restricted textbox who imputs can be restricted, that can handle pasting, shortcuts, text property setting, and script-entered text.
