Sql Server - Triggering A SUBMIT In An Asp.net Application?
Sep 28, 2011
I need to trigger a submit when saving my image file in SQL 2005 database. A user will upload their image file.My application will then check to see if the image file size is within specific requirements. If so, then save the image into a table where the field is image data type. (if size does not meet requirements, display error message and exit sub). The issue is if I save the image file to the database, the value is saved correctly (however, I have not checked the image size).
If I check the image file size first, THEN save it, the value saved is corrupted (incorrect). Is there a way that I can check the file size, then save the file while doing a submit in code-behind?
My code is below:
Dim iRequiredImageHeight As Integer = 80
Dim iRequiredImageWidth As Integer = 280
Dim imgBytes(FileUpload1.PostedFile.InputStream.Length) As Byte
I have written a small program to allow our employees to submit work orders. I want to have each computer on our network to be able to open the program, run it, and have the files (which are actually jpeg's of the form) saved on the server. This part works fine.
I have it loaded on the server and have tried to run it from several computers. While the program does run ok, it does not load the My.Settings items that are on the server. On each computer the program has, or appears to have its own set of my.settings.
If I go to the form in the program that allows me to add items to my.settings, and make changes they are saved, but when I go to the next computer they are not there. It only reflects the my.settings that were put directly in during program construction. (opened my.setting, clicked on the setting and added them there)
My question is,, how to get the program to stay on the server when running it so that the settings are there no matter which pc is running it? This is a windows forms program, I am using Visual Basic 2010 Express.
I have a webbrowser and on a form I need it to fill text. The problem is, in order for the submit button to activate, you have to atleast type in 1 letter for it to update and make it send. The problem is when I do document.getElementById("p1").innerHTML= "SSSS" it works but it wont update the submit button to allow me to submit the form. What should I do?
I have a view with a few checkboxes that can be selected or unselected. I'd like to always register any change in a checkbox, without the use of a submit button (the user could forget to do it, and it would waste time). So, is there a way to handle this inside the view? Up to now, I've only used the controller to do that job.
The program is for users to submit their username by typing in their username and pressing the submit button. The username may be able to display on the Usernamelabel in form1.(I made the button on form2) I have problems coding to make the text to come out in form2.My code comes out as error.
Here is the code in form2. Public Class Form2
Private Sub Form2_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
I have a textbox in my Application with a button to submit the text thats in the textbox..But i want to be able to hit the Return Key on the Keyboard to do the same action as the button how do i do this any ideas?
I have an application I have developed which works great on individual PC's. However I've had some interest from a few customers that asked if I have a network version for site licencing. If my app did not save any data or write any reg entries, this might have been ok. But it does to the local computer. I also built in my own copy protection and trial function that stores data in the registry on the local computer. What would I need to do to enable my application to run on a server/network share, so that the only a serial number needed is for the server?
i'm tying to send email in my application directly by the smtp server but the server doesn't allow me to do that. The application its used by everyone in the company, so i set the smtp client UseDefaultCredentials to True, but the server replies with this when i try to send an email:[code].....If i set the credentials by hand, the server sends the email. So my problem is how to make this work to everyone? I don't want to have one public/friend var all time in the application with the credentials of the current user?
An application loaded on a citrix server executes with no problem. When we try to run the same program files on a virtual server, we get silent errors and we do not even see the application window appear. The program runs for a moment in task manager, but then closes down. BTW other .net apps run on the virtual server. Here is the error we see in the event viewer application logs[code]...
I have a form that is bound to a table of data. I have a typical binding navigator. When I go to a different record such as next, previous, first or last I need a subroutine named "LayoutAdjust()" to execute "after" the new next record data is loaded on form. I tried calling the subroutine in the "BindingNavigatorMoveNextItem_Click" action but it executed the procedure before the next record data was loaded
I am creating small application (desktop search engine) which uses sql server as back end. Sql server is used to store huge data using indexing (for quick search). Is it necessary that client should have sql server on his machine to run the application? I don't want to install sql server on client's machine, because my application is just a small utility. Is there any other way so that I can store huge data using indexing?
I currently creating a form to read .csv from floppy and show the data into textbox. But my problem is after i ran the application my pc not stop triggering the floppy drive. The indicator always light up even after i close the application. there any additional code i need to add to my existing code.Im using VB Express 2005 and This is all the code i use.
Dim oXLApp As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Application Dim oXLbook As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Workbook Dim oXLSheet As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Worksheet
I am using a Combo box control to select from a list of Databases, and when one entry is selected I display a listbox of certain objects in the database.Other controls are then used to filter the list based on either name or content. Now, I want to know how to Re-load the original list based on the current combo box selection by using a 'Reload' button. In the button code I am setting focus back to the combo box, but whatever I try I cannot make the list refresh again. I've tried Select, SelectedItem, Text and Find methods but nothing works. How do I reload the listbox without having to manually use the drop-down and select the same item again?
I have two richtextboxes, richtextbox1 and richtextbox2 on top of richtextbox1 with richtextbox2.visible = false on form load. Whatever is input in richtextbox1 is placed in an array when rictextbox1 loses focus. Now I have a checkbox that when enabled, hides richtextbox1 and shows richtextbox2. On the first time richtextbox2 is shown, i want it to display the contents of richtextbox1. This is achieved by setting a boolean flag (firsttime=true) on form load, then in the checkbox code if firsttime = true, it displays content of richtextbox1 and sets firsttime to false.
I have a checkbox X1 that if checked it will check a column of checkboxes. What i'm trying to do is if the user unchecks at least one checkbox from the column it will uncheck checkbox X1. But I don't want it to run the event from checkbox X1 again because that will cause the whole column of checkboxes to be unchecked.
I want to make something like an alarm clock. So, I want my programe to trigger a certain event at lets say, 8:00 AM and 16:00 PM.
I was thinking something with timers ticking every second and checking if the time I want is equal to the system time. But....I didn't manage to make it work. So, how do I make this work ?
I am new to working with SQL databases (and databases in general) so I do not have a lot of experience with how queries work and how I can practice them. When I was first learning xml and XPath, I found XPath Visualizer incredibly helpful after someone on stack overflow mentioned it to me.Due to this, I am wondering if a similar tool exists for SQL databases?Basically a tool that will allow me to connect to a database, enter queries and see somehow what the results would be like.
I have looked online a bit, however I have found relatively few options in terms of any utility that would do what I want, and that looks reliable.I will ultimately be writing an application to interact with an SQL 2008 server in vb.net, however for now I am just experimenting so I will know what I am doing when I actually want to create my application. So far I have managed to connect to the database using an OLE DB connection, but I am now looking for a way to experiement with queries without just querying and figuring out a way to interpret the results in my program. Basically I want to be able to remove the programming aspect of things so I can experiment with queries without needing to question anything in my code that is unrelated to the specific query.
I am trying to run simple application (e.g. generated from template by VS.NET 2010) on IIS6. I changed it to run with .NET 4.0 (its application pool) and checked with regiis (this pool has 4.0). I also changed all possible httpHandlers (svc etc), to run with NET4.0. All possible rights are checked (i think so). Almost every request results in "Server Application Unavailable" (sometimes it is empty page with -2146232576 (0x80131700) value) and "...Please review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur." but EventViewer and IIS Log are empty.
Have created a few stand alone projects but nothing major... Using a trial of VB Studio 2010 (.net 4)
a) I have two networked pc's ("PC1" and "PC2") with a solution on each which has a "textbox" and a "send" button. Just want to type "hello" in textbox on PC1 then hit send and it appears in PC2 textbox so that I can base if statements etc. on it.
something like:
//PC2.App2.textbox2.text = textbox1.text
on a button would be perfect but i'm guessing that's far too simple.
b) Video Triggering over network - pretty well sames as above, just want to hit button1 on PC1 and it plays "1.wmv" in "axwindowsmediaplayer1" on "PC2".
c) How can I play a .mov/vob/avi/mpg/flv in an "axwindowmediaplayer1" ? if not possible how do I go about playing videos of all types in my programs?
I have a TreeView object on my form, with check boxes. By the way, I'm working with vb.NET. I want it to perform a few different things with the aftercheck event:
If you check a node, check all its children If you uncheck a node, uncheck the parent node If you uncheck a node, uncheck all its children
The problem is when you uncheck a node, it unchecks its parent node, which triggers the event again and unchecks all its children.
Would there be a way to prevent the event from triggering a second time? Or will I have to give up on one of those two points?
Here's the code, if it helps any:
If e.Node.Level > 0 Then If e.Node.Checked = False Then If e.Node.Parent.Checked = True Then
[code]....
While I'm at it, is there a way to check if a folder is accessible? I've toyed with FileAttributes, but can't seem to find out how to make it work...
I need a simple system that allows one process to check if another process is running (I think I can do that fine using Process.getProcessByName or similar) and then trigger an event in that process assuming it is.When I say trigger an event I do not mean that literally. I simply need to trigger a sub in the first process from the second.I know that IPC like this would normally be done with pipes or remoting or something like that but I have no experience with these and am looking for a quick solution, so unless these can be used relatively easily to solve this I am looking for an alternative.
I have an hta menu with selection buttons to run batch files. The files run okay, so this is purely a tidying up exercise. I want the command windows to either run silently, as background tasks, or minimized.
