Asp.net - Sending/Receiving Faxes In .NET?
Jul 30, 2009I need to send/receive faxes through my web application, and I am not sure where to begin.Basically, a client clicks a button to send a fax, and records in the database under the client's name when a fax is received.Preferably through an API from a service based fax company... I will be hosting this application on a dedicated server, I don't think they allow using their modems.I am using .NET and VB.

Feb 3, 2011I have a project in which we would like to do the following :Install a service that perform several tasks. this would be put on Computer A and B.Another computer C serves as a witness; At start, only A is running because the work it performs cannot be duplicated;Should A fail, then B must start. C should be the one that verify is one is running or not;Sholud A return back up after a fail, then B still runs and A is on stand-by;Should B then fail, C start A services,And So On.Is it possible, if so how ? Both A and B have a SQL server 2008 on them but this part is taken care of for us.I tried stopping a service (that I know is running) and it dosn't seem to work.[code]In this case, strServiceName is "Communication Interface" which is a service I recently add and started manually.I am running under windows 7.

rpt.PrintOptions.PrinterName="johnKingHP LaserJet 2200 Series PCL"
But when I go to windows-->Start--> Run and enter JohnKing
It is showing me Printers and Faxes folder and Scheduled task folder. But when I open Printers and Faxes it will show the adderess as Printers and Faxes on JohnKing.
From my web application I want to sent the Printer name is the name shown above.

Jan 27, 2010Can I send multiple files as 1 fax? I currently can fax one file at a time. I was wonder can I send multiple files to the same fax number on one call? Without physicall trying to combine files. For example. If I wanted to send a word doc and a pdf to the same person can I do that without having to dial twice? I hope that makes sense. I don't know if you can because I see that FaxDocment.body is string and not a list of strings. I am using FaxServer and FaxDocument. I just Found FaxDocument.Bodies. Does anyone have an example on how to use this? I know that FaxDocument.Body is a file path. FaxDocument.Bodies is an object? I don't see an list of path or whatever.

In this mode the application start minimized and an little icon appear in the notification icon area. With this icon you can maximize the app or exit it.If you exit the app and start it again using the Menu (Start/programs etc) than the application start in minimized mode (and in this case I would like to have it in normal mode) because the setting autostart is still true.Is there a way you can detect when the application start when windows startup using the above registry or when people click on an icon in the programs menu (or desktop)?

Mar 19, 2012i have a task to create a TCP Server (a program that is listening on its network card interfaces for incoming data stream).I have search on the internet and i found that i can use two methods : Socket or TCPListener class.I have created an example for Socket class, but i wondering how could i test it? I need to check that if another computer in the network send some string data to the listener computer , then this message should be displayed.Here is the example from microsoft that i am using for TCP Server using Socket:

Jan 29, 2009I am developing a computer application designed to monitor the network and CPU statistics on a computer remotely. The monitored computer would have my program installed and the monitoring computer would display, in a form, the information being sent from the remote client.The application does not send any information regarding packets, user names, passwords, etc. It is solely meant for monitoring CPU performance and Network resources remotely.
What would be the best method to send this information over to my host machine?I am programing in Visual Studio 2008 on windows XP. The client machine is also XP. I know this sounds a little shady, but it is required for my little business (http://www.iquorum.net) to monitor what and when something happens on our machines when I and my employees are away.

Jul 24, 2011I have custom asynchronous WebRequest class that I am testing to find out how fast the request will be cancelled and found some odd results, that starting 6 WebRequests with TPL and cancelling them right away takes 25 sec, but when I used just regular background threads it took only 5 sec.
Update: Running them without cancelling takes with Task.Start 9 sec and Thread.Start 3 sec accordingly.
