Words Lists - Read The Words From The Input And Display It Alphabetically
Aug 11, 2009I've got 2 RTB one is for input of text and one is output.The output one needs to read the words from the input and display it alphabetically and with their line numbers.I have partly done it and it currently reads it but here is my problem When the words are outputted let say for example there are 2 words the same on the same line e.g the word 'you' appears twice on line one,at the moment its coming up like this

Stop Two Users From Clicking One Link?
Feb 16, 2010I have an website that has a datagrid that is pulling information from an SQL database. The user then clicks a link from that grid and is redirected to another page. My question is if a user clicks the first link and is redirected and then a second user clicks the link is there a way to stop that second user from being redirected or sent back to the first page after they click the link? So it would have to somehow detect on the second page that a second user has clicked the same link. Hope this is clear. This is being programmed in VS 2008 vb.net and SQL 2008

Jun 29, 2011I have an application where the admin user can create users and upload documents to the server for the created user to download.
When uploading a file it creates a folder using the userid as the folder name and saves in that folder within a folder called documents e.g. ~documents/77b29079-43d6-4520-bc34-77ae2af1b131/documentname.xls
The client then has to login and will see a list of available documents for that user only. The only problem is that if someone was to get hold of one of the urls to a document is can be downloaded without having to login.
Is there something I can do to stop access to these files?? I have tried editing the web.config file to only allow access to certain roles but i could still download a document without logging in.

This is my code for a trial application. The code is pretty basic but what i couldn't figure out was how i would be able to prevent users from changing the date to extend the trial ("error" i would be getting).
Stop Users From Typing Anything Into The Textbox If The Datatype Isn't Correct?
May 3, 2009I have a form that allows users to enter information into a few textboxes. When users click save, the information will be transferred into the datagridview.
My problem now is, for instance, there is a textbox called "Price" with the datatype "money" which users are only allowed to enter numbers. If users enter alphabets, errors will occur. I don't wanna use try catch, I would like to try different methods such stopping users from entering anything into the textbox when the datatype isn't correct - nothing will appear in the textbox when users hit all the keys in the keyboard except for numbers.

I want to compare the contents of the input list (containing words (e.g., want, the) etc. to the ones of the trigger list (containign again words) and if a same entry (i.e. word) get the POS for both input word and trigger word from the relevant lists and put them into a property list. For example
input list (want, the, right)trigger list(want, there, wait)input list POS (verb, article, adjective)trigger list POS (verb, pronoun, verb)
Output property list (want:verb, want:verb) (only want is common between input and trigger list). Then I need to conduct a test between the two property items for similarites. If they are exactly the same, the code should output a confirmation "i.e., Yes" into a textbox. If not the code should output a "No" plus the contents of the property list into a textbox.

Sep 15, 2009I am trying to create a function to remove dirty words from user input text and want to replace those dirty words with four ****. In my scenario , i have list of dirty words where i would iterate the input user text and want to replace. Say for example.,

Problem: It works fine to replace some word like " bush" however fails in the below function doesn't replace "$hit" and "@ss".

May 6, 2009I have to submit a HTML form to a 3rd party website and one of the hidden fields is an XML string. The XML needs escaping before it is sent to the 3rd party.
However when I add the plain XML to the form field it semi-escapes it for me. So then when I use HTMLEncode myself part of the XML is double-escaped. How do I prevent the automatic escaping that appears to becoming from .NET.
Or even better how else can send the escaped XML via the hidden field.

Mar 23, 2011In VB.NET I've got two forms, on first one I have button, on second - two textboxes and "OK" button. I want to run procedure (Sub) on first form, then stop in the middle of it and wait for input on the second form. After that i want to process the data received from second form.
It looks something like this:

Stopping Multiple Timers - Stop Button To Stop Each Timer One At A Time
Feb 26, 2009Alright, so I'm still working on the slot machine. I have three timers all independently going for my three "wheels" of the slot machine.
My issue, is that I'm trying to make a Stop button to stop each timer one at a time, and I'm not understanding why this code isn't working. The logic completely makes sense, and the first "wheel" stops when I click the button, however, it doesnt appear to stop the other two timers.

VS 2010 : Use A Stop Button To Stop A Loop?
Dec 7, 2009I created a form and have the variable inputs for 4 motor run statements. Then with a start button the script starts and it is surrounded by a for next statement to loop 10 times. It works fine but if i need to stop the execution of the script with a stop button. I put the stop in a new section but of course does not work to do a motor stop. It just causes the exe to not respond till the loop is complete. Just need to be able to stop the Run1_Click button section.
Edit:I do not mind if it finishes the 4 motor run commands and then stops execution of the loop. So need to figure out a way to trigger a stop from a button on the form to stop the cycle. For the future the loop will be a variable integer input so 10 will not be the standard.
Edit::Does a ' Do ' statement sound like the thing to use? If so how and where would I place that? Have a Stop button on the form and it would stop after the 4th motor run command.
