the main problem here is i want to use 2 value from 2 line in one time to do that calculation... if those data in one line its not a problem..
how to count the lines in textbox1.text (with multiplelines). I don't need to count each character. I only need to count each line from top to bottom in textbox1.text (multiplelines) and I will use Label1 to display the numbers.
example:
1-pauljaones
2-tommyperrry
3-marktoms
4-Jonessmith
5-paulwhite
Obviously this is 5 lines and that's what I need to count.

The only thing I can do for now is either use the substring function to remove the first character from all array values after 0 but I don't like that because it's messy and what if the split "works" as I want it to one one of the lines and knocks of the first character when I don't want it to.
i've got my basic AutoTyper ready (well and one with autoupdating etc in it) but it's only a singular line. [Code] What I want to do it to type multiple lines, I know I'll have to enable multiline on the TextBox. I want it to type one line per time interval using 1 timer. I don't know how but I know it would have to count the lines but from then on I'm stuck. I will need to make it type line 1, then on the next loop line 2 and go on until it's reached the amount of lines from the count then repeat from line 1. [Code]

I am working on a utility to reformat a text file. Working on language to remove duplicate record entries. However there are desirable ("keeper") duplicates and then those I want to remove. I handled the problem by temporarily assigning a unique number to each @D line, then stripping them off after I've removed duplicates. So far so good, except in removing unwanted duplicates I have an extra of the "keeper" duplicates left that doesn't get removed. See below. I am wondering if there is a way to search for a line in a textbox starting with a certain character, but is also proceeded by 2 blank lines and followed by 1 blank line. I got this .dbf file with 80,000+ objects. Using vb.net 2008 I am trying to export the data from the .dbf into a .mdb file. Problem is that when I try to open the mdb file in Access, it says that the file reached the maximum limit of records. I found out that .mdb files could only hold 32,700 + objects in one database.
Is there another way around the maximum number of objects such that I could fit 80,000 object in it? If not, is there a way to, instead split the data from the datagridview into several parts that can be saved into multiple .mdb files?
I'm new to Visual basic (which will be obvious from my question) and am writing program that does various calculations, then displays the results in a list box. the results, however, are all concatenated, end don't each appear on a new line. I tried adding a carriage return/line feed at the end buit the compiler rejected it.
I can't find any examples of creating a list box, and adding multiple entries (one for each time a loop is performed), nor of how to use columns to make the resulting display cosmetically pleasing.
For the code below I get an error for the 1 to 5 part. It says end of statement expected. Is the way i've set out the syntax wrong, e.g the 1 to 5? [code] Also other than storing text to a rich text box what else can store numerical data in multiple lines?

In my form I have a text box for user to enter the number of column and row. And I also have a text box to enter the first X value and Y value. Now what I want to do is if user enter 2 for row and 10 for column then now I will have two rows with 10 column. The X value is for column and Y value is for row.
It will look like this

When the user enter the first X and Y value. For next X and Y value i must plus the original value with 2.54.
So my X1=TextBox1.Text
Y1=TextBox2.text
this values are input by user.
So
X2=TextBox1.text + 2.54
X3=X2 + 2.54.
and so onn. Same apply for Y
Let say user input are X=100 and Y=100
The value for first * is X= 100 and Y=100
Second *X=102.54 and Y= 100............. and so on
For 11th * X=10th *value + 2.54 Y= 100+2.54 and so on
The row and column is not same always it depends on user..
