Update Button Only Updates First Checked Row Not Others?
Feb 1, 2011
I got the database to update, but it only does it for the first row selected not for the others.
Protected Sub btnUpdate_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs)
For Each row As GridViewRow In GridView6.Rows
' Selects the text from the TextBox
Dim selectedcheck As CheckBox = CType(row.FindControl("chkselect"), CheckBox)
If selectedcheck.Checked = True Then
Alright, when I open my program I want it to check for updates and if there is an update I want it to download. So far I have a text file saying the most recent version and then it downloads that file and compares it to the current file version. If the current file version < recent version then it will download the file. :O Can someone help me with the code? :3 I have a hosting server with direct download links.
Before performing an update, the application must search for that record in the database. Once it's found then it return to the Data access layer. Typicaly when i return rows i return them in a dataset. The i send it to the client to load on to the ListView Constrol or to textbooxes. therefore data was sent from the dataset object, therefore onces the user has made updates to the data, first i must update the dataset.
In the Data access layer i can write method that contains the command object for update DB and bind it with the current Dataset so that each time dataset updates it sychrinizes DB with it. Assume i have a method called update() in teh business layer that calls the updateDB in the DataAccess Layer, how can i call the Update() of the business layer each time the user updates the dataset?
I'm trying to update a row via c# winform application. The update query generated from the application is formatted correctly. I tested it in the sql server environment, it worked well. When i run it from the application i get 0 rows updated. Here is the snippet that generates the update statement using reflection - don't try to figure it out. Carry on reading after the code portion:
public void Update(int cusID) { SqlCommand objSqlCommand = new SqlCommand(); Customer cust = new Customer();
[code]....
The above final update statement works on the sql environment, but when running via the application, the execute non query runs ok and gets 0 rows updated!
I have written an application to perform a simple CRUD operation i've used MVC design pattern... DAL was designed using the wizard. I was able preserve the olds value of teh fields of EMployee class using a seperatemethod
PreserveOldValues(){ //code}
in the SearchByIndex() i call the fill method and i used the data to initialize the current Employee object also i preserve those values using PreserveOldValues() the i call update() and internall i pass the preserved values......However it doesnt do concurrencies and updates..
I've got a question below:load data from a table in database into a datagridview, make change in datagridview, and use update function to update change back to tablebut 13 changes, only 12 being update back to databaseonly the top row on the datagridview not being update??
For Each orow As DataGridViewRow In DataGridView1.Rows orow.Cells(1).Value = TextBox1.Text Next
Tried searching and found some related issues but none exactly like I was having I iterate thorugh a DGV and write to one of the fields of the row. After it writes this field, I do an update() command.
I am writing an application and I want to be able to have it check for updates. When someone presses a button. (Note: I am using Visual Studio 2010, and the application is in VB.NET 4.0)
I can get the program to easily, upon startup, look for updates and then install them. I want to have a button that the user can click that will check/install updates.
I have wriiten several windows app using Visual Studio 2008. All projects but one where the "Updates" button is disabled in the Publish tab. How can I enable it?
I have a program that when you press a button it maps 2 drives, updates a registry value and then starts a executable which is stored in a SQL table. I'm having issues after the file opens. The program it opens does not seem to be working quite right. When you open the program by clicking on the .exe it works file. When I call it from the app, I have issues with the program after it opens. Can someone explain to me the difference between double clicking an .exe and using process.start? Is there a different way to do it? My code is listed below.
I am trying to understand how the binding navigator buttons are actually working.
I started by creating a table called "Students" in MS Access,
I then "dragged and dropped" that table onto my VB form after importing the data connection.
When I debug, I click the add new (the yellow plus "+") then I type info into my fields (700_Number, First_Name, MI, Last_Name). (700_Number=Primary Key)
After I am finished typing into the four text boxes, I click save. If I end my program then start the debugger again, the record is still there...it goes away only if I change some of the code anywhere in my program.
Also, I am trying to use the record I just put into my database for another part of my program. I use this line of code:
I'm trying to update a label to indicate how many items in a CheckedListBox are checked. Here is the code I'm using:
Private Sub CheckedListBox1_ItemCheck(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.ItemCheckEventArgs) Handles CheckedListBox1.ItemCheck Me.Label1.Text = "(" & Me.CheckedListBox1.CheckedItems.Count.ToString & ") of (" & Me.CheckedListBox1.Items.Count.ToString & ") Items Checked" End Sub
It should say "(x) of (y) Items Checked" each time an item is checked or unchecked, but it's not updating the label properly, the count is always off by 1.
I need to update my array when the user checks a box in a checked list box. I have been struggling with this for awhile and have it working almost perfectly. It adds items just fine, but when I try to remove them it won't do it until I check another box.I have a CheckedListBox called fields, and a ListBox called included, and an array called fieldsArry. Here is the code when the user checks a box:
Private Sub fields_ItemCheck(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.ItemCheckEventArgs) Handles fields.ItemCheck 'We do not want to call the updateFieldArray function when it is just loading up the fields 'because those will already be in our array, but we want to call it all other times.
[code]....
I know why it is only working on one and not the other - my problem is figuring out how to get it to work on both. For whatever reason (this drives me crazy sometimes) when I check a box in the CheckedListBox it runs all the code I put in there before it even checks the box. So I can't just reference that box as a checked box until after all the code in the itemCheck event is finished. I remedied this in the updateFieldArray by including the currently selected item as a included item, which means that even when they are trying to uncheck something (remove it from the array) it is selected and will be included.
Alright I'm very sorry. This is a very Noobish question and I thought I could figure it out my self but I am haveing alot of trouble.Okay so I have 5 Checkboxes. When All them are checked I want Button1 to be enabled. And if any Checkboxes get unchecked after they where checked I want button1 to be disabled.
Now I think I got the code right. I just don't know what event to put it under. If checkbox1.checked = true and If checkbox2.checked = true and If checkbox3.checked = true and If checkbox4.checked = true and If checkbox5.checked = true then Button1.enabled end if
When i change the checked into another radio button, i wanna show a message and when user answers no, i want there will be any changing in my form but in my case i do get any changes.
In a word., is there any way to prevent checked changes on radio button with message box?[code]...
I have a list box with three items in it. This has been disabled and I want to enable a button if all three are checked, i was looking for a CheckedChange type event in the MSDN but could not find anything. How can I do something like this?
I have a groupbox with two radio buttons on it, is there a way to check if any of the radio button is checked without having to go to individual radio control but from the Groupbox control.
creating an install button. The button must be able to find a file from a folder and be able to place it in another folder. But the install button must also disable a checkbox when it itself is checked.
I have added a template field in a gridview. In that i have added a radio button. I have written a code which will get row Id of GridView of a row which is having a radiobutton on it checked. Through code i am getting even name of that radio button, but it is showing me that radio button is not checked, even when it is already checked. Here is the code.
Dim row As GridViewRow Dim rd As RadioButton Dim rowId As Integer = -1
I created this. This is a lesson in a class I'm takingWhat the program is trying to do is this; If the radio button for member is selected and they are under 65 they pay $10. If they are a member and 65 or over, they pay $5. If they are not a member the fee is then $20. There are 4 radio buttons: Member, Non Member, Under 65 and 65 and Over. The code below is what I had in there. VS shows no errors and the thing runs, but it produces incorrect results every time (e.g. Non Member radio with Over 65 radio answers $10).
Dim blnFee As Boolean Const decNonMem As Decimal = 20 Const decMemUnder As Decimal = 10 Const decMemOver As Decimal = 5 Select Case blnFee Case radNonMember.Checked, radOver65.Checked lblFeeAmt.Text =
I have a form with 13 groups of 6 checkbox style radio buttons. I need to extract which button is selected in each group using iTextSharp. I've been able to set those fields, but not read them properly.
