Sep 29, 2009I want to generate random numbers at regular time intervals. I am putting the random generation in a loop which works when a button is clicked. But since the Timer itself is a control, I don't know how to do it. I tried putting the timer in a module so I can access it inside the form.
But the following error occurs:
"Error 1 Handles clause requires a WithEvents variable defined in the containing type or one of its base types".
When I doubleclick the timer icon the code appears as follows.

Regular Expression + Txt File = Captured Data?
Nov 16, 2011I'm having trouble trying to find the best method to do what I'm needing.
I'm thinking of using a regular expression to read a .txt file and parse out the MAC id information that will be in the text file. I was wondering if there was an easier way to do it or what the best way to do this is.
readall(textfile)
macID = d{1, 4}.d{1, 4}.d{1, 4}
totalMacInfo = all the macs in the text file?
If you guys have an alternative solution or a good way to write out the code I am open to suggestions. Not exactly sure how best to mix the expression into reading a txt file to get the data i need.
Regular Expression - Grab Data Between Two Sets Of IDs
Jun 3, 2011I have a regular expression that I use to grab data between two sets of id's for example:
<CLASSCOD>70</CLASSCOD>
The regular expression I use is:
(?<=<CLASSCOD>)(?:[^<]|<(?!/CLASSCOD))*
Which works in most case but when I have a single value like this
<CLASSCOD>N</CLASSCOD>
It says there are no matches.
The whole data string looks like this :
<STATUS>PRESOL</STATUS>
<DATE>0601</DATE>
<YEAR>11</YEAR>
<AGENCY>Department of the Interior</AGENCY>
<OFFICE>Bureau of Indian Affairs</OFFICE>

VS 2005 Upload Data To Remote Database?
Mar 22, 2010i write a program using vb 2005. This program collects data from Flight Simulator 2004 (altitude, speed, etc). These data should be uploaded periodically (every 10 secs) to a database which is installed to my website. The problem is that my hosting provider doesn't allow remote access to the database. Is there any way to put that data into the database?
ps. The strange with all the above is that i run a shareware program that can upload data collected from the flight to my database by simply adding the database name, user ir and password.
VS 2010 - Post Data To Different Upload Sites
Jan 23, 2010I am creating a program that will assist users upload a file to a couple different upload sites. There will be RapidShare and Uploading. I want to keep the GUI clean and simple, so I do not want to use a web browser. I have not used much Post Data, but am wanting to use it for this job. What I want the program to do is after the user specifies a file, the program will automatically upload the file to the site.

XSD File To Upload Data To SQL Server Via DataAdapter?
Jun 2, 2009I am wanting to use the TableAdapers and/or DataAdapters that are stored in an XSD file ("A DataSet for using data in your application") to
1) delete data from SQL Server
2) insert data from a dataset to SQL Server.
the XSD is to be stored as a file outside of the application so that the same code (this code i am having difficulty with) can be used to upload data from different excel files.
I created the XSD file in VS 2005 and "Configured" each table adapter to generate: Select statement, Update statement, Delete statement, table mapping, Fill method, Get method, and update method.
I am searching for some generic code that will execute the update statement and populate the database with the data in the data set.
How do i retrieve the TableAdapter and DataAdapter information from dsXSD (or the file dsLoadData.xsd)?
And then use the data, especially if relationships exist between tables defining a specific order for the tables to be loaded...
Do the SQL Statement need to be dynamically (at run time) written?[code]...

One LED per bit.I like to toggle the outputs based on selection of checkboxes and given frequency entered in TextBox.I inserted 8 checkboxes to allow me to select the desired LEDs to be on.I select the checkboxes to select the required LEDs.The checkbox gives me the byte value. XORing the byte value with 255I can see them toggling very fast. I have a while loop to blink forever until I click on stop button.The stop makes the seq=false and this should stop the blinking but it keeps going.How can I insert desired delay of flashing frequency in my output routine?How can I stop on demand to change pattern without exiting the program.

I am creating a basic date time graph with time on the axis and, at the minute, random points between -20 and positive 20 on the y axis. At the minute I can set everything up perfectly. The only problem is that the label on the x axis is not a time, it's a number. To be precise, it's the XLabelInterval value. This value is a double, so the label on the x axis is also a double not a time. But that's only interval I am setting. I think, by default, because I am not setting any labels, it is just using that value as the label as well.[code]...

Dec 28, 2009I am busy with a routine that will draw a bar chart.The X-axis is from 0 -100, no problem. The problem is the Y-axis.it will range from 0 to whatever the highest y-value will be.
My problem is that the y-axis should still be divided into 10 intervals, and the lenght of my y-axis should be the same in my picture box.I am using an array to fill the values, chartdata (0-9). It gets 10 values from the program. the values are 0 -10, 11 -20,21-30....91-100 . here is the code. It is working, but my Y-axis is messed up. Printing the labels of the y-axis is a problem.
