i want to be able to upload text from multipletextboxes on an ftp server text file eg:
name: (this will be the name of the text file) (texbox1.text)
email: (this will be inside the text file) (textbox2.text)
company: (this will be inside the text file) (textbox3.text)
number: (this will be inside the text file) (textbox4.text)
i want to upload text from a textbox to an ftp server, but it freezes the app when i click the button that uploads it. why is this, here is the code:

So my program allows people to download/upload text files from an FTP server... But... is this safe? I've always been a little scared with FTP because I fear that some lowlife is gonna hack into it. Is there another way to do this? Or is there a way to make this connection much safer?

I want to upload a string using the UploadString command to a Text file on my FTP server, It uploads correctly but everytime I have the user submit a new string, It overwrites the previous one and displays only one line of string.
I want the person to be able to Submit one string to the text file, then when another user submits another string ( A new line of Chat ) to the text file, I want it to be on a different line after the previous one submitted. Without it being overwritten.

I'm running an FTP Server using Golder FTP Server, which is freeware. I think it's setup correctly because connecting to the FTP Server using the exact same string as above using Windows Explorer works great.

Now, I have referred [URL], but in both of them, the upload folder (destination) is hardcoded. How can I change this to reflect the file's destination to be on the server? And, once this is done, how can I then use openrowset to extract the contents of the Excel fie?
Additionally, how can I emulate the entire process on my machine before it is deployed?

The remote server returned an error (405) Method Not Allowed I am sure this is a IIS problem maybe something to so with permissions. However, I am configure the virtual directory to allow read, write, and directory browsing.
The config.xml file I am trying to upload is located in the same directory as the executable and does exist.

It turns out I wasn't checking the path that it was looking up, quite silly of me. Once I tracked that problem down and corrected the offending path, the reading worked just fine. Still baffled at the MSSQL issue, since the articles average less than 10 000 bytes.
Clarification:I am unsure if some of you are under the impression that the file I am trying to read is on my local machine. It resides on the web, on the same server as the script that is accessing it. Just in a different directory.
I wrote an online help desk application that includes articles. One problem I have run into is some of the articles are too long, and get truncated when I put them into my MSSQL database. I tried using TEXT and VARCHAR(MAX) as the data type, but it would still get truncated.So I decided that I would put the articles that are too long into a text file, and have my application read the text file from there. 1) delete data from SQL Server
2) insert data from a dataset to SQL Server.
the XSD is to be stored as a file outside of the application so that the same code (this code i am having difficulty with) can be used to upload data from different excel files.
I created the XSD file in VS 2005 and "Configured" each table adapter to generate: Select statement, Update statement, Delete statement, table mapping, Fill method, Get method, and update method.
I am searching for some generic code that will execute the update statement and populate the database with the data in the data set.
How do i retrieve the TableAdapter and DataAdapter information from dsXSD (or the file dsLoadData.xsd)?
And then use the data, especially if relationships exist between tables defining a specific order for the tables to be loaded...
