View 4 RepliesI am using the Tabcontrol with autoscroll = True feature, when i make hidden controls visible on the tab there position is out of place, one work around for this is to set the scroll position to 0,0 by doing this...

This is for a mapping/plotting program.
t.panel is the main panel and it has too much content to fit in one screen so there are scroll bars. x.panel contains the horizontal scale for the data points in t.panel. I drew the scale using a bitmap and set it as x.panel's background.
Setting x.panel's horizontalscroll.value = t.panel's horizontalscroll.maximum doesn't seem to work. I think this is because x.panel's doesn't have any content that causes it to need scroll bars.
I have an app that on older monitors the form exceeds the screen size. I have the autoscroll set to True. However, the left part of my form is not visible...only the right side is completely visible ... via the scroll.
View 3 RepliesI am having an odd problem with the Horizontal Scroll Control in my program.I am using it to scroll a series of panels across a form.This is my code:
Private
Sub scrHoriz_Scroll(ByVal
sender As[code]....
The problem is that this works perfectly if I use the left and right arrows and it also works perfectly if I use the scroll bar's slider SLOWLY. If I scroll using the slider and move it quickly then the scroll gets out of sync.The small change and large change are both set to 1 and maximum is set to 8
The following code works perfectly to allow moving a control on a form at run-time. However, when AutoScroll is set to True on Form1, and you drag Button1 past the right and/or bottom bounds of the form, it goes haywire. I really need someway to smoothing control the autoscroll so that as you scroll the control off the form, the scrollbars smoothly appear.

Requested were made by Businese Analyst to set the few Main FORMs VISIBLE PROPERTY TO FALSE when the POPUP FORM is loaded.
[Code].....
When the MAIN FORM loads the POPUP FORM, on the FRMPOPUPCUSTOMER-FORMLOAD even, it has to set the MAIN FORM Visible to False.
When FRMPOPUPCUSTOMER FORM IS UNLOAD it has to set the MAIN FORM Visible = TRUE.
How to the coding is to ensure that different MAIN FORM when loaded FRMPOPUPCUSTOMER it will turn the MAIN FORM Visible to FALSE.
Based on code that executes in Form.Load, is it possible to disable displaying that form after the handler for Form.Load is complete? I'd like to have a commandline switch that disables showing the form, but still runs the application. I've tried this, but it doesn't work:
Code:
If InStr(Environment.CommandLine.ToLower, "/trayonly") Then
Me.Visible = False
[code]......
i write Me.Visible = false a statement in the load event of the form my application has only one form and it call itself to hide. but when i run the program it doesn't hide itself i put the breakpoint on the statement to see if it even executes or not. it executes fine but no effect what it suppose to do i also have a notification icon added to a form to see it running in system tray.
View 5 RepliesI got a couple of issues with my windows application VB.Net. I seem to cannot set the form to be invisible before it shows up for a second, there is no option in the properties of a form and also if I set the form to visible = false before the form is loaded it doesn't work.
So this does not work:
Browser.Visible = False
Browser.Show()
and this does work but the form shows up for a second which I am still not very happy with
Browser.Show()
Browser.Visible = False
I am currently making a DOS type thing, called the Terminal Client, in visual basic 2008 express. I have 2 textboxes, one is a big multiline textbox for where all the command stuff goes. Then I have a second textbox at the bottom thats not multiline, and thats just for typing commands. I want to make the big multiline one scroll down as you put more and more commands into it.Something like this (which ive already tried):
textbox1.selectionstart = textbox1.text
textbox1.selectionlength = 0
In VB 2010 after working on a form in design mode which has a menustrip and the form is taller than the IDE [Design] window and not returning to the top of the window before running in debug mode, the menu is eliminated from the menubar on the running form when the controlbox is set to False for the form and I could not access the menu.After returning to design mode and scrolling to the top of the form and running debug, the menu returned.Is this a bug in the IDE or what?
View 1 RepliesI have a form which won't open properly under certain circumstances if a particular Button is set to visible = false. Under the same circumstances if the Button is set to visiblbe = true the form does open properly or if the line of code at a certain place where it is set to either visible = true or visible = false is commented out or not there then the form opens properly. If any one of the 5 phases on my form are turned on then the problem doesn't ever occur but if none of the phases are on then the problem does occur. I just found a fix for the situation but I still am not clear about what exactly is going on.

I have a multiline textbox that while a file is read in some data is echo'ed out onto the textbox. Is is possible to programatically scroll the object down to the bottom? Changing everything over to a combobox and then changing the selected index would essentially do what I want, but the user needs to select/copy a bunch of lines.
View 5 RepliesI am using a panel control in vb.net (2010) to build a timeline of images. These are very small images (320x180) and I am running into a limit of 240. While the panel does not complain when I add more - it will only scroll to the 240th one.[code]...
I am counting on some of the built-in functionality of the panel in autoscroll mode (being able to bring any of the thumbnails into view), etc. I am certainly not averse to purchasing a third party control for this. I really need to be able to display 1000 or more thumbnails!
I have a Panel set to Auto Scroll and a Picture Box inside of the Panel that's set to Auto Size. I can use the scroll bars, but why wont my mouse wheel scroll the panel up and down?
View 4 RepliesI have a program that will keep adding info to a richtextbox, I want to to autoscroll to the end
this is what I have vb.net Private Sub RichTextBox2_TextChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles RichTextBox2.TextChanged RichTextBox2.SelectionStart = RichTextBox2.Text.Length - 1 RichTextBox2.ScrollToCaret()
Return
End Sub
the problem is that it will go back to the beginning of the richtextbox2 then it will go to the end and it keeps jumping like that. If there a "smoother" way to do this? So it wont keep jumping back and forth?
I am trying to build a form that will present one question at a time with true false buttons. It will tell the user how many questions they got right at the end of the quiz. how to i present one question at a time ?? since one button handles only one event.
View 3 RepliesTo recreate this behaviour, you need to create a pop-up form with the following properties:
(1) ShowInTaskBar = False
(2) Display the form with the Show method and loop until the form is not Visible.
(3) In order to close the form when the mouse is clicked out of it, override OnDeactivate, and set visible to False.
Next, create another form that will display the pop-up when a button is clicked:
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As Syste
Using pop As New PopUp
pop.Visible = True
[code]....
it also puts a black border around the form. (You'll have to set FormBorderStyle = System.Windows.Forms.FormBorderStyle.None to see this.)what this style does apart from putting the black border round the form?
I'm making a login form in VB.NET, and I have a table in mysql called user. What I want to do is before a user can login the Administrator column of the user table must be TRUE and the DELETED column must be FALSE. I've tried everything I know but all non admin users are still able to login... Heres how the user table looks like:

I have a MDI form that has a child form that is opened by default when the application loads. I also automatically maximize the child form. Even though I have set ShowIcon to false, the little blank image that indicates that there is no icon appears in the upper left hand corner of the form. Is there a way to get rid of this?
Private WithEvents m_frmLineItems As frmLineItems
m_frmLineItems = New frmLineItems(Me)
mfrmLineItems.WindowState = FormWindowState.Maximized

How can I make a textbox's scollbars autoscroll? For my users to easily read the content in the textbox.The textbox is multiline.
View 5 RepliesI have a program trying to use mousehover to pause the autoscroll. It is a widows form called:
lstOutput System.Windows.Forms.1 Below is how it is in my code.
Public Sub lstOutput_MouseHover(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles lstOutput.MouseHover
'Public EventMouseHover As EventHandler
lblPauseScroll.Text = "Output Paused" 'display output paused
'Highlight the DataGridView
Me.lstOutput.BackColor = Color.LightGray
[Code] .....
For some reason I have to click on the form to get it to pause the first time and then after that it does pause when I place the mouse over the form. It is that first time that it won't pause. The Public Subs I hand typed the codes in, is there some way that I should have added the mousehover to the form itself or are there other reasons that it won't work the first time?
I have a tab control with two tab pages. One page has the auto scroll enabled since there is to much content in the page. The middle mouse wheel doesn't scroll the scroll bar; I have to actually click and hold the scroll bar and drag it down to scroll. Is there a property to allow this?

I have an mdi form and few child forms. I have set the autoscroll property to false, size to (640,480) for the mdi form, but still the scrollbars are shown. I am setting the width of the child forms on mdi resize event to the width of mdi parent. My requirement is that the mdi parent should not show scrollbars at all for the entire life of the application. What are the properties that I need to set additionally?
View 6 RepliesI have a DataGridView with a panel above it, that contains a group of textboxes above each column. My DataGridView has a horizontal scroll bar. What I want to do is when the DataGridView scrolls horizontally, scroll the panel with textboxes above it, so they stay aligned.I tried handling the DataGridView's scroll event, but I'm not sure what to do with it.
View 1 RepliesI am loading several command buttons into it (one in each grid box). I have the panel set to autoscroll. When TableLayoutPanel is set to AddColumns, all works well. However, I dont want horizontal scroll, I want vertical. When I set TableLayoutPanel to AddRows, a vertical scrollbar will not appear.
