Web Development - Open A Web Link In Windows Form?
Jul 19, 2011
I want to open a web page that was created by me, by passing parameters to that web link,I try to open it like this:
Dim aaa As String = String.Format _
("C:Documents and SettingsuserDesktopweb site 1HRMSExport1.aspx", _
"?_mchno={0}&_batch={1}&_Points={2}&_ovrpt={3}&_gstrID={4}& _
I am working with two databases stored in SQL server 2005, with VB.Net 2005. Database 1 - is the DevelopmentDB and Database 2 - LiveDB. I have two front-ends one connecting to the DevelopmentDB and the other connecting to the LIVEDB.
Now, I have a problem with the live front end. After publishing, it accepts me to log on with the Live username and password..(it connects to the LiveDB) Note: The two front ends i.e., for Development and Live have different usernames and passwords. So, I get connected to LiveDB, however, when I open a form built in Datagrids it connects again to the DevelopmentDB.I have checked the connection strings its connecting to the Live. This is not an application or database problem. The reason being I tested it on another PC and when I logged on with my credentials it was fine. I was connected to the live database and all the forms were displaying accurate data. Therefore, my conclusion is that this is not the front end or backend problem.
i have a webbrowser1 which cannot navigate from the link it is set up to, and cannot open new links in other windows, i need something like if get the URL Google.com when it clicked a link on the current site, then Form2.Show(). Link here <-- when clicked open form2 if its yahoo opens form3.
I am developing a next gen App for my Email Client for future Windows 8 users. Now when i used to use Visual Studio (Visual Basic) 2008 to develop for Windows 7, I used the command "FORMNAME.show()" And that command would open the form. The Problem i am having now is that "SHOW" is not included and im guessing that there has to be another way to do this. For the Beta version of my app, i created a test Button that i want to open a "SplitPage1" the button is called " btnOpen"?Now to give you an idea what i wanna do, i made buttons on the top right hand corner that are called "File , Edit , View" and so on, and when the user clicks file, i want a spiltpage to open with all the options the user would regularly have when clicking file on a menu tab in a program. the options would be lined up on the left hand side when you hover over lets say "New Email" on the right hand side there will be a short description that will appear saying "create a new email to send" and when clicked on it will take the user back to the mainPage and it redirect the browser to "SendnewEmail url".
I've got a VB.Net form application that dynamically loads user controls based on which navigation link the user clicks on. I'd like to make it easier to use at Design time by putting a link of some sort to open the User Control at design time. The link would go onto the form in the space where the User Control will be going. This just saves a little time from having to browse through the files to open the correct file.
I have a WebBrowser control in my VB.NET application that loads a PHP page inside it. On the PHP page I have a 'Log Out' hyperlink. What I'm trying to do is close the VB.NET form when that hyperlink is clicked.
I am doing a project which required the website application that I have created to be linking to the window form. As what I know is in the webform to webform, the command is "response.redirect("")" whereas for the window form to window form is "me.show form1.hide". So that is what I know.
I have a project that I would like to add a URL link and an email link to in the Help/About dialog. How can I do this? Is it possible to add HTML code to a VB project? This is not a Web application.
how can i make my webbrowser open up a new link in my same webbrowser or in another form? basically what im saying is i dont want it opening links in internet explorer.
is there code to tell if your form is on top of all the other windows open ? or if its the active window.i have a bit of code that just brings one form to the front, then another, but i dont want it to perform this action if its already the active window
I am wondering if it is possible to re open windows application again in visual studio.Use case:User of the form needs to make some changes to current application and the changes will take affect next time when the application starts, how to close the application and re start it after user clicked ok, so that user settings will take affect immediately without asking him/her to restart application?
I am working on a VB6 project and my organization is planning to upgrade the technology from VB6 to VB.net. As I am new to VB.net windows application development, I dont know where to start and what to include in code. I have read that VB.net windows applications code should have AssemblyInfo, CultureInfo, Windows Security authentication etc. But I have still not found any article, code sample or VB.net windows application sample that could give me a complete list of features that an organization level VB.net windows application must have.
Despite the fact that Lisa and Luca anounced on 13 may 2009 that C# and VB.NET would have a Co-Evolution i am dissapointed that there is still no VB SDK for Windows Phone 7 development ( afaik complete XNA isn`t supported yet ) .
I'm in the market for getting a new laptop and not sure what version of Windows 7 I can get buy with for Software/Web Development. What's the census out there?

I'm trying to figure out the script needed being executed by a button element (or some kind of element) to launch another windows form from the same project when being in another windows form? I'm a bit of a beginner with this language, so I don't know simple scripts like this one
How do I make a menu item on a menu strip link to another windows form (like a menu item that links to an about page already created in the project). I know that every coder knows how to do this, but i've read most of the instructions in the world for Visual Basic coding, but can't find ANYTHING I know coding fairly well, so I can modify it, but I can't create it my self.
I just installed VS 2010 Ultimate with the intent on developing Windows Phone apps. However, I've seen alot of different links as to what I need to integrate the Windows Phone SDK into VS 2010 and I'm really not sure about it. Can anyone provide me with a one-stop shop link for this?
As part of a new program, I need 2 forms and an openfiledialog. On Form1, a button event opens Form2. Form2 has an openfiledialog triggered by a button shown below.
'Form1's button to open Form2 Private Sub Button1_Click(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
I wish to develop windows mobile applications, preferably using VB (I 've done this in the past with VB6). What do I need to install? All my searches result in information about using 2005/2008 versions of Visual Studio, which seems odd if Microsoft are pushing to use Visual Studio 2010. I would like to use VS 2010. So, can I develop Windows mobile applications using VB 2010? If not, what version of VS do I need and what language should I use?
don't complicate the issue with a load of flannel. I just want to know that I need to install - this, with this SDK, these utilities and write your software in this language (ideally VB).
I'm trying to run an instance of the Azure Blob Storage in the Azure Visual Studio 2010 development environment, but keep getting the followingrror:System.InvalidOperationException: Not running in a hosted service or the Development Fabric. The stack trace is pointing to these lines:
