View 5 RepliesI have a Web Forms textbox in a gridview and I want to higlight the text on a button click. textbox.select(start, end) doesn't work. Here is the code:
Dim row As GridViewRow = TryCast(DirectCast(sender, ImageButton).Parent.Parent, GridViewRow)
Dim txtdays As TextBox = row.Cells(2).FindControl("txtDays")
Dim lbldays As Label = row.Cells(2).FindControl("lblDays")
[code]....
.Select works on Windows Forms textboxes but not Web Forms textboxes.
I want to highlight some of the letters in each row of col1

whether the text can be said in reverse color or in bold font is ok for me.
Is it possible to select and highlight multiple portions of text within a textbox?

I'm trying to analyze web pages for seo. I'm trying to create my own personal tool to extract all the keywords and tags from web pages (a little clearer).I already know how to extract or parse links and text from web pages. The issue is that I tried to implement title tags, body tags or keyword tags in general via using the following code:
Dim theElementCollection As HtmlElementCollection = WebBrowser1.Document.GetElementsByTagName("a")
For Each curElement As HtmlElement In theElementCollection
If curElement.GetAttribute("href").Contains("http://twitter.com/") Then

Try to extract all the keywords from the title, body etc. for this page:[URL] and send it to separate textboxes (title keywords in textbox1, meta tags in textbox2 etc.).

View 1 RepliesI was just wondering how to extract or parse any particual tags (whichever I specify) from webpages. I know how to extract text and links from webpages, but I tried to use the same method from the following code for div tags, title tags etcetera and it doesn't seem to work:

I am trying to create a photo kiosk software where the user loads images, then they are displayed as thumbnails, and then the user can select a thumbnail (or multiple thumbnails) to choose sizes. (imagine a photo kiosk you would see in walmart for example)
So far I have done the following. I am able to load images. I then dynamically create a panel box for each image, and within the panel box I create a picture box and a label to display the thumbnails and the actual file name.
The code below is able to process a path such as, "C: est est.txt". And open its root, "C: est". But how would you highlightselect test.txt? Do I need to work with the windows shell specifically.

Try
Dim item As ListViewItem = Me.ListView1.SelectedItems(0)

I created a Windows Form application that used a Webrowser control to automate the process of entering data into a website. One of the tasks included selecting a server name from a dropdown menu (SELECT tag). I was able to get a collection of all of the OPTION tags and use HTMLElement.SetAttribute("selectedIndex","indexVal ue") to select the server I needed. The website recently went through a redesign and now there are no OPTION tags. It appears that the values for the SELECT tags are added by JavaScript dynamically. I have tried using HTMLElement.SetAttribute("selectedIndex","indexVal ue") directly, but I am unable to select what I need.

I am having an unhandled overflow error whose cause I can not find. I get one of those "Sorry, this program has to be closed" errors. Is there any way that I can have Visual Studio highlight all lines of code that are not embedded in a try/catch statement?
View 4 RepliesI'm wondering about a feature in Visual Studio. Personally it bugs me when I open a solution someone else has been working on and it's full of Controls with Ids like "label27" "textbox3" etc. One of the first things I do is either rename them or remove them if they are never referenced in code behind (as is usually the case with the labels).

With my code as I have a trouble with the returned strings that I have extracted from my php source to add the strings in my listview.
I'm reading the tags of mystrings1 and mystrings2 for each paragraph from the php source. I got the returned strings which it looks like this:
PHP
<p id='mystrings1'>my strings</p> | <a href="http://xfvasfasfasfasf">Link</a> </td> | <a href="delete.php?id=0">Delete</a> </td> | <span id="mystrings2">Enabled</td>
I want the returned strings to be like this when I reads the tags of mystrings1 and mystrings2 while ignore the other tags.
PHP
<p id='mystrings1'>my strings</p> | <span id="mystrings2">Enabled</td>
Here's the
Public Sub timer1_Tick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
timer1.Enabled = False
timer1.Stop()

Do you know how I can ignore the other tags when I get the returned strings of mystrings1 and mystrings2?

Is there any C#/VB.NET library that can produce HTML output from Python sourcecode ?
I mean display the Python sourcecode syntax-highlighted on a website ?
It should be C#/.NET code, not a JavaScript library. This is because I highlight many programming languages, and their HTML is already generated server-side, so I really can't use a JavaScript library.
I've a program in which I've a richtextbox and I want to highlight like it is done is Visual Basic 2008(or 2010) when the richtextbox cursor(and not mouse) is upon a certain word all the instances of that word in the code is highlighted.

I have searched the forums through pretty well, and cannot find a solution. I am assuming I would have to use Regex to get the numbers specified. If I need to provide more of the page source,
Im currently faced with a problem. I have a textbox whereby the user would enter a word, my program would then match the word within a text. If there is a match, the program would display the word and the line that contains the matched word in the listbox. My problem is I want to highlight that particular word when the line is displayed in the listbox but I could not find any syntax that could perform that function.
